This was my second time here. The service was excellent, but there was an unpleasant experience when I was leaving. I had already paid for the fruit I ordered for the day at the restaurant the night before, but I was asked to pay again at checkout. The receptionist was quite loud, which made me unhappy. The fruit was only a few hundred baht, not much, but it upset me and affected my mood! I was also told I had to pay 150 baht for dry cleaning bags, which I don't understand. After talking to the receptionist, they said they wouldn't charge me… The first time I came in June, the service was much better. This time was a bit unpleasant, and there were so many mosquitoes! After two nights, my thighs and calves were covered in bites. However, my child loved it, especially the restaurant service, which was excellent. They even offered DIY ordering of meals: porridge and meat soup!
But anyway, it affected my mood all day. It wasn't about the amount of baht, but being asked to pay extra was very annoying!
I don't know if I'll go a third time. I'll think about it… but I'll stay at the hotel for two days anyway!

The taxi from the pier cost 250 baht. The beach right in front of the hotel is fantastic, and the male attendant who manages the towels was really good – he's the reason I gave the last 100 baht as a tip. His enthusiasm also led us to book a night squid fishing trip for 9 people.
However, all the staff here seem to have two different attitudes: one for Western guests and another for Chinese guests. While everyone else managed basic politeness, the female server in the restaurant (pictured in photo 2) was incredibly rude to us. This is my fifth time vacationing in Thailand, and I've also traveled to the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Mauritius, the Maldives, and Hamilton Island, but this is honestly the first time I've encountered a staff member so rude. She pointed her finger at me and loudly demanded that I push the water bottle from the middle of the table to against the wall. I was completely stunned.
Upon check-in, they asked for 500 baht per night for an extra bed for our 6-year-old. Since the three of us could comfortably share the king-sized bed, we declined and only paid for the child's breakfast, which was 200 baht per day.
One evening, we also encountered teenagers on the beach who were indiscriminately bullying kids playing there. I never even saw something like this in Australia, yet it happened on Koh Samet. Thankfully, my English speaking skills are decent, and after a big argument, he ended up yelling that he was going to call the police.
Overall, I still wouldn't recommend booking a hotel here. The pricing attracts a certain type of clientele, and since there are many very cheap hotels nearby, the beach attracts all sorts of tourists.

Guest UserIf you're coming to Koh Samet, this is the place to stay! Right outside the hotel is a great snorkeling spot. If you have fins and swim a bit further out, you'll see even more fish. Even if you don't snorkel, just tossing bread crumbs by the shore attracts a whole bunch of little fish, so it's fun for all ages. Plus, the fact that it's not crowded is a huge bonus.

Guest UserThe room is spacious with a beautiful sea view and very clean. It’s perfect for large groups or families. The breakfast is delicious, clean, and quite good. I just wish they would fix the lighting at the vanity; it's a bit too dark to see when putting on makeup. During breakfast, there was one group of guests smoking in the dining area, but I informed the staff, who then told them, and they stopped immediately.

Alex_from_khbThe biggest plus of this hotel is the staff! They are incredibly responsive and friendly people. Always smiling, they strive to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
I also want to highlight the location; it's very convenient, with plenty of cafes within walking distance. You can easily walk to the village and 7/11, and the sea is just ten steps away.
This is our third time here, and we will definitely be back again.

MiaomiaoflyThis hotel boasts an excellent location on Ao Phrao Beach, with its own private beach. There are only three hotels in this bay, and Ao Phrao Resort shares ownership with Le Vimarn Cottages & Spa. The middle hotel is independent, which means fewer people and a more secluded atmosphere. This area is much quieter compared to Diamond Beach. While Diamond Beach is lively with music, here you'll find more people quietly reading. The rooms are mostly individual bungalows, which is great. They're spacious and cool. You can borrow towels from the front desk for the beach chairs. The hotel restaurant offers stunning sunset views, but you'll need to book a table in advance to get a good spot. It's clean and hygienic, the rooms are cool, there's plenty of hot water, and it's very quiet – though you can't do much about the AC noise. Overall, it's fantastic. The only downside is the average food at the hotel restaurant, but you can't have everything.

We booked a two-bedroom bungalow for a family of two adults and two children. It's very comfortable, cleaned daily, and has good breakfasts. The sea and private beach are pristine. We stayed there for four nights and then headed to Pattaya. Samet and the Cliff Resort are definitely much better. But not for those looking for a party.
If you're looking for relaxation, clean sea, and peace, it's fine. If you're looking for clubs and nightlife, it's not.

Zere’sLocation is amazing!
Beach is beautiful!
Room is quite old and pool view room has no privacy at all.
Bathroom was not so fresh.
Selection of food for breakfast is suitable for 3 star hotel.
Restraint is very tasty food! Recommend to have a lunch.
Found hotel Manager is not very friendly. Stuff is okay, but won’t say that very welcoming people.

Jonathan WallerNice little place right on the beach. Perfect for sunrise and clear water for swimming. It's the quiet end of the island but still plenty of places to eat and drink. Rooms are simple but comfortable. Good shower. Nice pool. Good breakfast. Attentive staff.

Anonymous UserI stayed in room A104, on the lowest floor with direct pool access. Unfortunately, the headboard was right against the stairs, and the constant noise and vibrations from people going up and down were really disruptive. I ended up waking up early and going to bed late every day because of the stair noise.
