"Nice family hotel and very helpful owners. The girl helped us to get tickets to Tianmen Shan with the discount. We got line C tickets and got to the top really quickly while line A snd B were lining up.
The hotel is right in front of the entrance to the Tianmen Shan, also in the heart of the pedestrian district with lots of restaurants and foods.
That was a very pleasant stay!"

This was such a great experience! The staff is a lovely duo who cater to all your needs, help you figure out any travelling or planning, and just in general were very kind and helpful. The room we had was quite small but it didn’t matter as we were barely there. It was very clean and the aircon worked well (a huge necessity!). We were given water and mosquito repellent any time we asked or even just when we walked out the door.
The hotel was a bit further from the Zhangjiajie national park than we had expected. However, the area is extremely charming, is walking distance from the Tianman mountain cableway, surrounded by delicious food options (including fresh fruit stalls) and has mountain views. And as Chinese uber is quite cheap, we still got around to everywhere we wanted:) super happy with our stay!!

"Amazing treat. The owner was really useful and helpful. The room is very comfortable and fancy. the view is just of the downtown neighborhood, full of skyscrapers as you can see from the hotel pictures. The discount offered for the entrance to tianmen mountain and national park is recommended.
The hotel is just 15min walk to tianmen cable car entrance and 10min to the bus station.
Be aware that in the mountain there are around 10C less than the city! The day before we had 30C and the day after rain and 10C, however we didn't expect snow!
If you arrive by high speed train, the high speed train station is outside the city, take the bus lines 17 or 6 for about 45min, however a taxi will be just faster.
On the way to the national park/wulingyuan, the bus station was complicated to find and use as a foreigner, so we ended up taking the taxi.
To reach the airport it is just 10-30rmb taxi ride (no bus available from the area)."

This was the most satisfying hotel of my Zhangjiajie trip. The room was very spacious, exceptionally clean, and the hygiene was top-notch. What I particularly liked was its proximity to the cable car station – just a few minutes' walk – and the transportation was incredibly convenient. There are plenty of snack options nearby, especially 'Li Hanhan Sanxiaguo' downstairs, which offered a rich variety of dishes at very reasonable prices. I truly enjoyed my stay here. The owner was incredibly warm and friendly, and even helped us purchase discounted attraction tickets. I will definitely stay here again next time.

The boss lady even asked me if I would mind if the toilet is a squat toilet. The staff service was exceptional, and housekeeping was very attentive, making our stay cozy and comfortable. Our room was spacious and bright, offering beautiful city night views. The mattress had just the right firmness, and I slept wonderfully! The bathroom featured a wet/dry separation, and there was complimentary in-room Wi-Fi with excellent speed, which was perfect for getting some work done. Overall, we were extremely satisfied! The thoughtful service, convenient location, and comfortable accommodations made our trip especially enjoyable! GGuest UserThe owner was incredibly warm and welcoming, making our family of five, traveling by car, feel right at home!
1. After we booked, the owner immediately sent a text message with thoughtful tips, including driving directions and a travel guide.
2. After adding him on WeChat, he patiently guided me through the park's specific entry procedures, covering routes, timings, ticket modifications, and re-entry reservations. As I wasn't familiar with Zhangjiajie National Forest Park's advance booking and entry policies, I only booked tickets two days prior. My initial reservation was for August 14th, 9 AM entry via the East Gate A-line. Later, due to a family commitment, we could only visit on the 15th. I initially thought, since the tickets were valid for four days, that entering on the 15th would be fine. Luckily, I connected with the owner on WeChat on the 13th – he was so thoughtful! He informed me I needed to change the ticket dates, otherwise, I wouldn't be able to enter, and immediately walked me through the rescheduling process. When I frantically tried to reschedule, I was dismayed to find that only 10 AM entry tickets were available for the 15th, yet I really wanted to enter around 8 AM. I was so anxious! The owner advised me to keep an eye out for any last-minute cancellations, and if a sufficient number of tickets became available, to act fast and try to reschedule. And I truly got lucky! I monitored the rescheduling page for about an hour and, finally, managed to successfully reschedule for 7 AM entry, exactly as I wished. My gratitude to the owner is beyond words!
3. Upon our arrival, the owner personally assisted with parking. The front desk staff provided each of us with a bottle of water. When it rained, they even lent us umbrellas so we could go out for dinner. They also gave me a hand-drawn map of the park and thoroughly explained the travel route and attractions for the East Gate A-line.
4. They offered free laundry service and detergent. The rooftop drying area was spacious, safe, and robust. I checked out before heading to the park in the morning, but because our clothes hadn't dried due to the overnight rain, the owner kindly told me I could return to pick them up after exiting the park in the afternoon, and even let us keep our car parked for free. By the time we collected them in the afternoon, all our clothes were perfectly dry. When we finally departed, he even gave us another 5 bottles of water. Their exceptional kindness and enthusiasm truly touched me!

GGuest UserThe best place in Wulingyuan, the host is a very friendly lady who speaks excellent English. She explained the park routes to us, drew them on a map, and helped us buy tickets. The hotel is conveniently located near a bus stop, a 10-minute walk to the park. There’s a large supermarket within 5-10 minutes’ walk where you can buy groceries. The hotel is very clean, with daily cleaning service, and provides drinking water and toiletries. Special thanks for fulfilling our request and giving us a room with an astronaut design on the ceiling! The Wi-Fi signal is strong. Upon checkout, we were gifted a pair of magnets—a lovely surprise. I will definitely recommend your hotel to friends and acquaintances. Thank you!

Communication:
The host speaks excellent English. Even before my arrival, we were already exchanging messages because I was expecting a package at the hotel. Throughout my stay, she consistently checked in to ensure I was happy and was always eager to help. When I wanted to book a ticket for a show, she took care of everything within three minutes - what an amazing service!
The Room:
The room is spacious and includes a veranda, though I didn’t use it since it was too cold. The bed is nice and the electric bed warmer added an extra level of comfort. The room has all the necessary amenities for a pleasant stay.
The Location:
Perfect for visiting Zhangjiajie National Forest—right next to the bus station and just a short walk to the park entrance. Along the way, there are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets. Plus, it’s super close to the Charm of Xiangxi show venue. It couldn’t be more convenient!
Final Thoughts:
A special mention to the host’s adorable daughters - meeting them was the perfect way to end my stay!

RRyszard lagowskiDuring my stay in Zhangjiajie, I has to be there during the rainy season, and just a week earlier, the city had been hit by a flood. Fortunately, the hotel owner kept me informed about the current situation, which helped me feel safe and at calm. On my last day, I planned to visit Tianmen Mountain and asked if I could still use my room after returning. Unfortunately, the room had already been booked for the next night. However, the owner kindly offered a great solution: I could leave my backpack in the room, and if I returned before checkout time, I could still use it. If not, the hotel would store my luggage. I was very grateful for this arrangement, although Tianmen Mountain was so breathtaking that I stayed there until 2 p.m. and came back too late to access the room. Still, I was met with a lovely surprise — my bags had been carried down from the sixth floor and were waiting for me at the reception, which made continuing my journey much easier. The room itself wasn’t particularly modern, but it was exceptionally clean, and the staff paid attention to the little things, even providing mosquito repellents, which were especially helpful during that time of year. There was also a very helpful man working at the hotel who spoke excellent English and played a key role in helping me organize my sightseeing. He helped me plan my itinerary in detail, giving me a map on which he marked the exact order of places I should visit, which made exploring the area much easier. On top of that, he also helped me buy the right entrance tickets, advised me on the best options, and even got them at a discounted price. His support and dedication allowed me to fully enjoy the trip, knowing that everything had been well taken care of. It was very pleasent stay! Thank you!

Owners make this place , daughter speaks some english but no issue ascthey use translators.
Upgraded me to Mountain view room! Allowed me do laundry and when I fell asleep aftet long day they hung it up to dry and brought to me. I felt so embarrassed but they smiled no trouble.
I extended my stay as the best experience and they even came out to the road so i knew route to the Cable car even though it was raining.

LLeoraeThe room was clean and the staff were so nice and helpful. They patiently explained the best route to take to explore Zhangjiajie National Forest Park in 2 days without a guide and the instructions were really easy to follow. They can also book tickets with discounts. Note: Cable Car and Bailong Elevator tickets do not offer discounted passes to foreigners so the staff can help you book those tickets to get a discount. They also helped us do our laundry for free. The location is great. It is very close to the East Entrance of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. There are many shops and restaurants nearby. At night there are street vendors open a block away with local food to try. There is an all-you-can-eat simple breakfast restaurant a block away for only 15 RMB per person and the food was decent and filling.

莎莎莉❤️This hotel offers a super strategic location—right on the main road, just 900m from Wulingyuan East Gate (easy walk to the park!) and 1.2km from Xibu Street (great for food & shopping). The area is lively, with plenty of shops and local eateries nearby.
The owner is incredibly kind and helpful—he even assisted me in booking Wulingyuan Scenic Area tickets! The hotel itself is small but cozy, with only around 10 rooms. Each room is spacious, clean, and uniquely designed, giving a personalized touch.
Highly recommended!

MMattHostel was great launchpad for exploring Zhangjiajie.
Location is perfect - right at the east gate of the scenic area for early starts into the forest park where you’ll want at least 2 days and the best spectacle in the area, very short bus/taxi to the Grand Canyon/Yellow Dragon Caves
Friendly staff and fellow travellers had a great laugh together and always someone to talk to - but was also quiet enough at night to sleep and get up early for the exploring.
Left on last day and went back to town to do Tianman mountain - line C, use luggage storage at entrance and pick it up and go straight to airport after. Ideal.

Only one of the beds had a curtain around it and it was already taken. Bed was alright. There's a lock on the entrance to the hostel that I wasn't told how to unlock so just sort of had to knock and hope someone would let me in then theres a lock on the room doors but was also not given a key to that so it just stays open
Bathroom
Some of the showers look a bit grubby and the toilet smelt a bit funky but they do the job
Hosting
As with most 24 hours receptions I've encountered in china, it is not really 24 hours. The guy manning the desk seemed pretty friendly and some guests were sitting with him on the bottom floor and they mentioned that we could join them to go out to eat as well so it seems like a pretty social kind of hostel. I believe they can support you with booking tickets to Tianmen and Zhangjiajie

I think they also have a cafe. Again no one was at reception and I didn't have their wechat so I couldn't ask about luggage storage but they seemed fine when I came to pick it up later in the day so there's that as well
