I almost walked out of Jury's Inn when I arrived in Brighton; I was already irritated by their 16:00 check-in time, and the place felt grubby and tired when I walked in. However, it redeemed itself quite quickly when I dealt with the staff. The ladies on the reception desk were incredibly helpful, friendly and efficient, and Ken at the bag storage made my day with his calm and affable personality. The room itself was clean and comfortable, and even though I was close to the lifts, there was little noise. I never ate at the dining room so cannot comment, but I did have a drink at the bar area, which I found to be a little sterile. It was a busy weekend with many people and families in and out, but the hotel managed exceptionally well. Even when one of the lifts was out, I didn't feel that the staff dropped their pace or professionalism. The hotel is in a great location as a springboard for Brighton. My ”Jury” is still out regarding value for money, but I have no hesitation in appreciating the staff.

Stayed here for a conference and wasn’t overly impressed. I appreciate they are going through a refit but there was an unacceptable amount of disruption. Long wait at reception to check in. Long queue and only 2 receptionists. Workmen noise during breakout sessions of the conference meant it was difficult to hear speakers. Main lifts out of action and signposting from small lifts to rooms was very poor and I struggled to find my room. Room smelled strongly of paint and had to open window as air con unit didn’t appear to be wired in. Came back after being at dinner to find my towels had been replaced (surprised but thank you) but my facecloth had been removed (it was my own one) and I had nothing to wash my face with. But probably worst of all was being woken by workmen shouting right outside my window at 6.45am. Not what I wanted after a late night. I’m just glad I wasn’t paying for it!

I really appreciate upgrade to room sea view.
But on the night of our stay was very strong wind and omg felt like windows will fall out, we stayed up all night. Room was freezing.
In the no when I did check why the wind noise was sooo bad I realised there was a massive gap between window and frame.
On the check out girl asked how was my stay and when I said it was just alright, she wasn’t bothered to ask why and skipped to next question.
I could point out issue we had but there was a guest in front of me who was talking about the same situation and girl at reception offered her blanket and heater, sounds like it’s on good problem in hotel with windows and stuff can’t be ask to deal with it.

I have wanted to try this hotel for a long time, my partner surprised me with this hotel along with a pregnancy spa package , followed by dinner at the hotel’s restaurant for my 30th and to celebrate his return from the Army , We had arrived Saturday the 23rd July 2022 at around 11ish to check in for our sea view suite. When we arrived the girl on reception couldn’t find our booking , she eventually did and stated we were a day late. My partner had rang prior to this to book as had a nightmare when trying to book online along with the spa package so the hotel staff booked this not him. The girl then stated due to events happening that weekend in Brighton they had no rooms available, my partner then went to speak to the staff at the spa and cancelled due to me becoming very upset and no longer wanted to be there if we didn’t have a room to stay. We asked to speak to the manager and we’re shocked at the unprofessional girl who we had to deal with , no apology no compassion just rudeness. Me being 7 months pregnant wasn’t even offered a seat or for out bags to be taken whilst they tried to deal with the refund we had asked for at this point, she then went to speak to her manager and after us standing around for 45 minutes said a room had become available , so we then rebooked into the spa. The room was a sea glimpse room overlooking west streets nightclub, no bath tub nothing like the suite we had booked. My partner then went back to reception and said we appreciate the room but obviously pricing would be different from a cosy room to a suite. We were issued no apology no compensation absolutely nothing just a foul attitude and told it was our fault and they wouldn’t do anything else to accommodate. WOULD NEVER STAY IN THIS HOTEL AGAIN , front of house team need to learn customer service skills. The Bar manager had spoke to us throughout the day and he said it’s obviously not down to him but as we had such an awful time he would compensate us £50 for drinks , this was them moved to the restaurant as being pregnant the drinks were a lovely gesture but I can’t drink. The meal was fantastic I couldn’t recommend enough, The ladies in the spa were also the loveliest and were so accommodating and made my pamper so lovely, they also had online conversations that were forwarded to front of house stating we were booked for the Saturday overnight stay… I understand mistakes can be made but the way we were treated when spending that much money was a disgrace and very off putting. Such a shame because the potential is there it’s the front of house team that let down the visit and experience. 😔

I thought this was a lovely hotel, with very friendly staff who gave a good service. My room was larger than expected and charming given that I was in the basement. I had a skylight in one part of the room which helped to bring natural light into the room. The bed was comfortable and the room was decorated to a high standard. I would come here again if I was returning to Brighton.

Outstanding
GGuest UserThe hotel lives up to its name it’s “Grand” and has retained its charm. Our room on the 5th floor was very large well furnished, great amenities and clean with a wonderful sea view. Thank you to the amazing staff on concierge desk, reception, breakfast crew and housekeeping who were always friendly efficient and helpful, it was a delightful six days. We will definitely return.
GGuest UserMy husband and I stayed for 4 nights at the Kings. We enjoyed every minute. The staff were all friendly, helpful and did everything to make our stay just perfect. Our double room was large, beautifully clean and very comfortable. Breakfasts were great with plenty of choice and in a delightful bright breakfast room. The Kings is ideally located on the seafront. We will definitely be back. Thanks to all the staff at the Kings Hotel.
GGuest UserThe hotel location is amazing - just 2 minutes from the station (if that) and a 10 minute stroll to the beach. The Hotel was exceptionally clean with brilliant welcoming staff. As other have mentioned, the only negative is that the breakfast choices were very limited. Small single portion omelettes, tinned tomatoes and sausages, as well as cereals etc. However - don't let this distract you. Loved the additional facilities of the hotel (washing machines, the Den) etc. The room was silent - no noise from anywhere. Good powerful but quiet air con.
GGuest UserI didn't intend to stay here, I confused this hotel with the seafront Leonardo Royal, and I was told by a taxi driver that it's a common mistake.
I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It has a bright reception area with a bar , restaurant, and breakfast area. There are also a few toiletteries and snacks available to buy. The staff are efficient.
My room was on the fifth floor with a view across the town. The room was very clean with a first-rate bed, largish tv., Espresso machine, a well stocked hospitality tray , slippers, toiletteries, a Mini fridge and a safe , although you are advised to leave valuable items in the reception.
I slept well, I didn't really hear any noise from inside or outside. The televisions have restricted sound. There are key cards that not only open room doors but are required to call the lifts on the ground floor.
There is a small selection of food available, pizzas steaks , pasta, fish and chips, and other pub favourites.
Breakfast is taken in the extended restaurant , there is a great selection to most guests, continental cold cuts, fruits, yoghurt, porridge, cereals, pastries, smoothies, etc. Guests can set themselves up for the day.
The seafront is approximately 15 minutes walk away, the quickest route, and it's downhill . The railway station is literally just around the corner, so this is also a good spot for those delegates attending conferences in the hotel.
Overall , I had a pleasant stay and would recommend it to others.
GGuest UserThe location is excellent and the room is spacious and comfortable and clean that I stayed there for 20 days and I just love it that is a great deal for money indeed
MMiaka QLocation is absolutely great, the sea is direct in front of the hotel. Everything is at walking distance. The staff is very kind and friendly. When we check in, there is a small promotion where we can get free wine, beer or sodas. Cleanliness is great, the room is spotless although there is a little funky smell but not a big issue. As for the amenities, their shampoo and body wash are in bottles fixed to the wall. But their shampoo and body wash are of quality with meroli and bergamot smell which i just fall in love with. They did provide hand wash and lotion in bottles and fixed to the wall as well. No bar soap, no toothpaste, no toothbrush, no shower cap. Their does provide iron, hair dryer and tea/coffee as well as two bottles of water.
GGuest UserWe stayed in a standard king room. The room looked like it needed a lot of work done (walls, door, windows). The walls are so thin that I could hear the next rooms conversation clearly. The staff are friendly and helpful and breakfast was good but I don’t think i would stay here again. Parking was awful, there are hardly any spaces as most the spaces have pillars in them and they are very small to get in to. They also share the car park with another building so there’s not many spaces available considering how many rooms they have. It was better to park in the nearest car park. I’ve stayed in other holiday inns and they were so clean and lovely rooms to stay in. I just think that this hotel is outdated and needs work.
We stayed for 3 nights and The room was a lot nicer than expected. We was in room 14 which was downstairs. We could hear literally every sound, the walls are paper thin but didn’t really bother us. The beds were comfy surprisingly. The room was lovely but could have been a lot cleaner. There was no tea/coffee which I was really surprised at. Had no problems with the shower. The kitchen was big but we didn’t use this. However, one night (long story short) my partner stayed up later than Me, came to bed and shortly after, heard lots of noise at the door, went to have a look and a random stranger came into our room, said oh sorry and walked out. Whether this was a misunderstanding or not, we really felt unsafe after this. Luckily this was the last night. We really want to know how the man got into our room. There is a key safe to every room with a spare key with a Number on a card to open it which you receive at check in. Maybe it’s the same number for every room - if it is this definitely isn’t safe. Anything could have happened, ain’t worth thinking about. We could have been robbed of all our belongings while we was sleeping and/or while we was out. Awaiting a response from the hotel.
GGuest UserSmall clean and well presented. Clean rooms and comfy bed. Good shower. Cannot find fault at this price over Easter. Was on the road and needed good value comfy nights sleeps. And that’s exactly what I got. Thanks . If your just needing the basics on a weekend trip this place fine.
