"What can I say? It's Banyan Tree! The name alone guarantees the quality of the accommodations and everything else.
Before I got there, the manager, Grace, told me that there's no pool or gym, so I was a bit disappointed. However, as soon as I got out of the taxi, everything turned out super satisfactory.
When I arrived, I was greeted with a smile and a white sash for good luck, which made me feel so special. Then the staff offered me hot ginger tea (* trust me! this will instantly boost your immune system and keep you warm and hydrated, which is essential in Shangri-la) and cookies. I found the bed to be a little low, but the mattress, pillows and blankets were super comfy and fluffy. I loved them. The bathtub on the lower floor amazed me and made me immediately imagine myself lying there in the Qing Dynasty. Haha. I didn't want to waste water, so I didn't use it though.
It was my birthday trip, so the staff offered me special services such as decorating the bed with a Happy Birthday message and a fruit cake.
I went to the spa and had dinner at the hotel. Again, wonderful staff and services.
Finally, communicating with the staff via Wechat was easy and fast.
Thank you Banyan Tree for making my days so memorable. Whenever I have a good experience, I always think of my family. While staying at your resort, I did that A LOT."
