Family-friendly Hotels in Shimla

I did not stay at the Oberoi but had lunch at their restaurant, Cartview room during a day trip to Shimla. The food was absolutely fabulous — I had an unusual and utterly delicious starter topped with baked yogurt! The Himalayan trout was perfectly cooked. The staff was very attentive as was the award winning chef, Mr. Raj Kumar (previously at Ban Thai at Oberoi Delhi). Highly recommend a stop at Cartview if you’re in Shimla.

Highly recommend the place for a pleasant stay. Really good food! Rooms were cozy. The best part - The staff hospitality and behaviour. The location is good and is close to Mall road. The view from the room was insanely good. Also liked the reverse staircase and level concept. Unique one!

Property was beautiful, pool and jacuzzi were amazing but would rate it 3 because of lot of other factors. Food and hospitality was definitely lacking factor. It was not taj standards. Definitely went there with lot of expectations but was disappointed. Food was a big issue as jain vegetarian as it hardly had options. Plus they had no internal coordination. One chef called pratik could make great jain pizza whereas the other night we were denied the same. We were charged constantly for baby food and brought to their knowledge and got it rectified. Few waiters were very very rude. Plus if the bathrobes were used, they didn’t get the fresh ones. Bathroom slippers were missing. And kids play area was in absolute mess. The attendant was least interested. Crayons were completely broken and small. When we asked for new ones on day one , they still couldn’t arrange it for 3 days of our stay. Don’t think will go there again. Immediately we went to wildflower hall and experience was beyond beautiful!

The orchid shimla is amazing hotel in shimla for best stay and view. I feel luxury experience. Breakfast and dinner food is very excellent. Room service is very fast and good. Hotel staff is very friendly and excellent

We found this property on a recommendation by a Friend, and boy we were lucky to find this B-E-A-UTIFUL property. This Hotels is well placed on the main road, a 10 min drive from the Mall Road. The hotel has ample of parking space. All the staff is quite courteous and very friendly, right from The front office to the Food and Beverage staff. The interns were also equally hardworking and warm. All the staff will always welcome you with a pleasant, friendly warm smile. The Food menu is also delicious and covers quite a lot of cuisines and proteins. Rooms are spacious, clean and tidy with quiet good amenities and excellent view of the Mountains.

Though a bit tough to reach the hotel using google map as its situated in a valley at Shimla, Very calm and quiet hotel, very neat rooms, each and every staff was very polite and helping with happy face, very hygenic and superb food, the Dahi Karela was to die for.. restaurant staff mr Varun was extra ordinary in rendering services to all guests.. watching IPL on the big wall was a good experience. Over all a very nice stay.. highly recommend..

We stayed at Kamna Hill Resort for a night enroute to Spiti and our stay was perfect. Its a very cosy property away from the hustle bustle of the city. The view from the room is excellent. You can sit on the balcony of your room or in the garden and have a quite and peaceful time with nature. The room was spacious and clean. Just one complaint i had which is the roof or the AC was leaking and all night we could hear the water dripping from one corner which was a bit irritating. There definitely was a weird stench coming from the room which was quite strong....it could be from the dampness caused due to the dripping water. However the staff was very sweet and always had a smile on their face. There was a landslide which had blocked the road and the front desk made every effort to ensure that we reached the hotel safely from another route. Food was nice and delicious. We reached pretty late and the restaurant was closed. Yet the restaurant staff went out of the way and cooked something for us. Overall our stay was nice and we will definitely stay there when we go to Shimla next.
