A nice warm house. The room is very clean and warm, that is good because the weather is cold. The host cannot speak English but she is friendly, helpful.

Hotel is not accessible via car so host had to ferry our luggage into the old town using a small pick up. Room allocated to us was a family room which is on the second floor but service staff did not assist to carry luggage up despite us travelling with a baby and a 74 year old. Toilets have no doors which was a privacy issue for our family. The toilet on the second floor of the room was also filled with cobwebs. Water was also not refilled during house keeping.

Very good hotel. The room is clean and the decoration is nice. People were very nice and helpful even if they cannot speak English. They helped us with our luggage because it's in the old town and not accessible by taxi.

Host was never at the reception, no real cleaning of room we only got fresh towels. The bed was not made, the tea pots were not cleaned, no further water... Also there was a smell from the toilet that was disturbing, so we had to leave the windows open the whole time.

Nice location in the old city, near Gui Shan. Breakfast is simple but satisfying, changes every day. Free sweet soup in the evening was a nice touch. The room was on two storeys which was cool, beds upstairs and TV/shower downstairs, quite convenient (but no wardrobe). Baidu map took us to the wrong location so be careful, but after a call to Ctrip the owner came to pick us up (also willing to take us to the main gate when we left). If you have suitcases best to call them for a pick up as the streets in the old city are bumpy. Nice terrace on the second floor, spent a lot of time sitting there looking out over Gui Shan and the city (some photos below). Overall a very nice experience.

I have an amazing time even with all communication with the hotel had to be done via WeChat for translation. I suspect the hotel and the surrounding were not damaged by the fire as it remains in ******* style. There were many places to take photo in the surrounding area. The place is well equipped and well maintained. The staffs were nice people and ready to serve. They even arranged pick up on the day I arrive at the old town entrance and airport transfer for me on the my departure.

We were surprised by the beauty of Chang's mansion. The rooms were beautiful and the location superbly in the middle of old town. So many nice features: floor heating, electric blankets, beautiful view, good smell, lovely interior, delicious breakfast, friendly staff. We will definitely come back.

The location inside the ancient city makes it very convenient for exploring. Getting there is a bit inconvenient; you have to wait outside for a tricycle driver to pick up your luggage. The architecture is quite unique. The wooden house is a bit soundproof, but the guests are generally decent and not particularly noisy. Overall, it's a good stay.
