Shanghai Pudong New Area Hotels

The hotel is very nice and clean. It provides a good spread of food for buffet but mostly catering to Chinese guests. The western food options for breakfast and dinner are limited. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is only good if you are visiting The ocean park, disney or the planetarium or need to stay close to the airport. If you are not interested in any of those attractions its not the best location to choose because there is literally nothing else to do in the area as a tourist. It is also very far from the city center. I wouldn't recommend the location if you want to explore, only for visiting those specific attractions. Overall, we enjoyed the hotel.

The location is very good, about 50 meters from the subway station. The room is quite spacious. The cleanliness is good. The staff is very helpful. I was sick in the hotel for several days and could not go out to find food to eat. The hotel staff helped me order food for delivery. There are many breakfast options. The taste is okay. If I have a chance to come to Xiang Ai next time, this hotel is a good choice.

The hotel is about 10mins by car from the Disney station. the hotel has about 50 rooms with different themes. we book 3 family rooms, 2 sunset theme and one room with slide.. we forgot to take photo of the rooms but the environment was very nice and pleasant. the hotel provides shuttle service to and fro disneyland at specific timings, add their wechat acct to make bookings and get timing informations. the hotel provides food service too and was very delicious.. we had 2 dinners at the hotel restaurant.. but not exactly a restaurant more like a home cooked food by one aunty. ordered thru the wechat app and can just time them wat time we want the meals to be served.. thumbs up.. really good service too.. the kids had fun with tue cats and dog and pony in the premise. will definately come back again to stay if we travel to shanghai again.

- The location is quite good since it is located within walking distance from the metro station. However, there is approx. 5-step stair in front of the hotel which forced you to carry your heavy bag. - The staffs are nice but they, at least those I met, cannot speak English at all. They used a translation gadget but took some time to communicate. However, they are all helpful and are eager to help. - The room is quite nice but the a/c is controlled by the centre, so, I sometimes felt uncomfortable while waking up during the night. Also, I smell the smoking especially in the restroom which made me feel dizzy. There are no toothbrush and toiletries in the room but the staff will give you while checking in or you can ask them. - There are big convenient store near the hotel which made it a plus.

New hotel! Very clean, looks amazing. Definitely worth staying especially during the long transit! Very welcoming and friendly staff. The hotel located close to the airport, very convenient. I was picked up from the airport and dropped off at the terminal. It was a bit difficult to book the shuttle bus service because I don’t have WeChat. I had to ask the information desk at the airport to help me and call the hotel. I would really appreciate if the hotel organises more convenient way of communication for foreign visitors.

The hotel is new and the room functions are great. Cheng Xun from the concierge was very helpful and helped us to order food delivery as we do not have China number. Although the location is slightly further away from the city centre, will recommend this hotel as it is new, clean and worth the money

This hotel is much beyond our expectation for this price. The room is big and clean. Washing machine and hanger are in the room. Air condition can become heater too. Projector is huge but all movie must be paid. Windows can be opened. The hotel in in the same building as Wanda Plaza which is ver convenient for everything. The street food is also at the back of hotel. You can find anything in the market. Traveling From airport to hotel is super easy. Didi will drop you in from of the hotel and you just walk to the corner of Wanda plaza. Suju hotel is labeled at the door in english. Its super closed to Zhoupu station exit 2. That is awesome. The path in the building may be dirty but the room is clean. I dont like only one thing that I can smell smoke in the room during the night. That hurt my nose.

Summarize in short : they should keep this place only for Chinese speaker, not recommend for traveller with other languages. Base from my true experiences, I booked here the night before traveling to Shanghai. Once I check out from hotel in Guangzhou, front desk lady help me called reception at Shanghai Novotel Hotel Chuansha to ask if they can pick me and my partner at Pudong Airport as they advertised for a complimentary shuttle bus. The lady at Novotel cannot speak English so I passed to the front desk lady in Guangzhou and got to know that I have to book a shuttle bus a day ahead. I accepted this because I read info, just have hope if they could help customer with this, anyway I flew to Shanghai and went hotel by myself. On the way to Shanghai, I still have hope that receptionist at NOVOTEL will be able to speak English. When I arrived there, I met 3 receptionists and NONE OF THEM CAN SPEAK ENGLISH. We had a tough time to communicate. I have my own language and English, also broken Chinese but we still not understand each other. I had to call a friend of mine in Taiwan to speak Chinese to them. Again, I wanted to book a shuttle bus to Disney land for the next day and they ask me to have a Wechat app to see a detail and communicate. Since I do not have China mainland mobile number so I cannot make a Wechat work on my phone. My ********* friend still help me out with this. At that time, another lady came, seem like she work for shuttle bus thing. I do understand that Chinese tone of voice always loud but I cannot see mercy on her face. She consisted that we still need a Wechat. One lady there said, I have to take a taxi without Wechat even though the hotel provided us a free shuttle bus to Disneyland. At this point I a little upset as there is no choice that they can call or set me a time for my travel, _ucking asked me to take a taxi. I do not mind to pay for taxi but we have never been here so we worry about other unexpected factor could happen. Further more, I went there on my girlfriend birthday to celebrate her birthday. I decided to take it here a last minute and I asked if they could have a card written Happy Birthday to her. Only I know is ”NO CARD, NO CARD!!!! bad service mind ever, disappointed and felt give up with Novotel Yes, I picked NOVOTEL because I really hope they provided international services. I was a member of ACCOR PLUS and experienced such good services but since I experienced here, I am a failure. I actually have 2 more nights in Shanghai after 2nights here. I was thinking to move out all the time because me and my partner felt suffocate with a service. I do not talk to them anymore as it is useless T___T I even tried with my broken Chinese but I cannot feel that they put an effort to serve their guesses. No bellboy, air-conditioning at public area is pretty warm. To be honest, the place is good, bed is comfy and we tired from playing things in Disney land park so I extended to book for one more night then I do not need to rush for checking out. I went reception floor, this time a girl with glasses, seem kind and she is fluent in English help me check in for my last night here :) Whole time staying here I kept my mouse shut because don't want to feel unpleasant anymore and I feel like the robot that delivery food downstairs is working better than human lol. Eventually, I did tried until I can log into Wechat to found that the text were written in Chinese only. I still can travel with a hotel shuttle bus even I do not read thing on Wechat (我看不懂) 😔 I definitely won't be back here even things are good. Hotel is providing everything we needed which is good but they should hire people who able to speak English or people who able to use translate on google and else to communicate as they open for the whole world guess. Not only Chinese on earth but also another language exists. Last thing, key of hospitality is ”SERVICE MIND”

Cute theme available to choose according your interests. Good hotel near Disney resort, free transfer for Disney and airport. Great breakfast provided and you can found restaurants outside the hotel. The hotel staff was really attentive and responsive, It’s highly recommended for everyone who want Homie style accommodation.

The environment is very good. There may be some small noises from outside at night, but you can hardly hear them. Earplugs are also provided. There are takeaways nearby, and robots will help deliver them to the hotel. The lady at the front desk is also very nice. It is very close to Disneyland and Pudong Airport, and it is convenient to take a taxi. I will recommend it to my friends and will choose this hotel next time!
