Dongdaemun Hwashin Hostel Reviews

Great hostel right in a central area of Seoul, close to the Metro and to many convenience stores and markets. We loved our small double room, it had all we needed for 2 nights: heating, hot water, wood, small towels. The hostel is very quiet at night, we could sleep really well. The receptionist is friendly, helpful and speaks English really well. They also held our bags for few hours after the checkout. We wanted to rebook here but it’s fully booked. We will strongly recommend it.

Had a great stay at this guesthouse considering that the price is affordable and easy access of public transportation. 1. Location: If you’re from the airport, would recommend to ride the airport bus instead of taking the train as it’s much more convenient. Airport bus would stop at Baiton Hotel. Do note that the nearest subway station does not have elevator or lift. 2. Room: Quite small which actually a standard if you visit Korea. Bathroom is clean and even have curtains to ensure it won’t get well all over. 3. Amenities: Free water bottles provided in the room but there’s also water dispenser at the kitchen. There’s also microwave but there’s a certain time that you can use. I’m the kind of person who cannot live without iron and this guesthouse does provide one upon request. Me and my partner stayed there for a few days and it was perfect for us since we didn't plan on staying in the actual room the whole time. Very close to the subway and other bus options, like the airport bus. Although it is about 1hr and 30min transit from the airport. I recommend this place to people who like to explore.

It is suitable and nice to who travel sololy with fair price. Clear explanation and nice staff! I must give a praise to the strong air con in summer! Room is spacious for one person, one biggest drawback is there were few bugs(3-4) inside the room, but acceptable, understand there will be some insects in summer. Overall, recommend this to solo traveler due to its price and cleanliness!

Hwashin hostel administration, thank you so much for the warm welcome and always positive treatment 💗 sorry didn't manage to say goodbye in person.. I was staying for 4 days (25-29/08/2024). Everything was clean, tidy. The bathroom had a curtain, and also soap, shampoo and stuff. The drinking water was provided, the ac worked well and there was an opportunity to open the window 💗 It has great location, it's super close to Dondaemun history and culture park, getting almost everywhere is convenient and there's a lot to see nearby as well:) The only inconvenience I had was bringing my luggage down the stairs when checking out but that's okay anyway) Thank you so so much for such welcoming atmosphere and help❤️ i have already recommended this hostel to my friends and i do recommend it to everybody visiting:)

The location was near to airport limousine bus pick up, nearby to many subway stations and plus point there is GS25 in the corner. Good good location and had a pleasant stay!

Receptionist is very friendly and helpful. The place is clean. 5 minutes walk to mrt station and 7-11. There are some restaurants around the hotel area.

It was in an excellent location, within the range of my activities. The room was clean and just the right size for a solo stay. Other reviews said that there were no bath towels, but there were plenty available next to the counter for free use. It was quiet, the beds were clean, and I'd like to stay again.

When you check in, you are first told to be quiet as they are sensitive to noise. The lock is like a normal apartment lock, and you open the hotel entrance yourself at night. Even at 10:30, the front of the hotel and the reception are empty and dark. As for amenities, there is shampoo, rinse-in-shampoo, small soap, hair dryer, and small towels. There are no tissues in the room. They were placed at the entrance, so I guess you just take as much as you need? There is also spare toilet paper at the entrance, so if you run out of it suddenly, you will panic if you are alone. There is a mirror for putting on makeup, but it is dark and there is no chair. I think you are supposed to use the simple wooden chair in the hallway. The pot is also in the hallway next to the chair. Overall the room is clean, but the most inconvenient thing was. The water from the sink flows down to your feet. It will damage your socks. You can collect the water and flush it, but I think it would be difficult to escape without getting your feet wet. However, the location is excellent. The nearest stations are on lines 2, 4 and 5, so it's convenient to go anywhere. And considering the price, I guess that's about right. But I can't recommend it.
