"The front desk is not open from late at night to early in the morning, so you need to check the hours. It is located near the downtown area and can be moved around on foot. The breakfast was nothing special, but it was good. Drinks can be brought or ordered for a fee. You can enjoy it on the calm front lobby floor. The room was simple, but there was a simple kitchen. The pool jacuzzi was simple and not big enough to play in. I forgot my power outlet accessories, but the front desk kindly lent them to me. If you are an experienced traveler, I don't think there are any particular shortcomings or complaints."

"The hotel is very nice, and the location is perfect near the beach, bars and restaurants. Breakfast was great too. Pools and gym are a bit small but they’re nice and clean."

"Overall a pleasant stay, however location was a bit far from city centre than expected. Room was very spacious, great service, clean sheets and towels, nonetheless the hotel in general was a bit old, only the restaurant area and the pool was refurbished, rooms would probably need some updates (Though I would say 80% hotels in Cairns are pretty aged). Overall satisfactory given the price👍"

"The Hilton Double Tree is in a perfect location, being within walking distance of Cairns City points of interest. The hotel is clean and the beds are super comfortable. Staff are friendly and obliging. Breakfast has gluten free cereal and bread which is a boon to coeliacs. We will stay there again."

"I stayed here twice - the first time, an ordinary room, the 2nd time, I thought maybe the Horizon Club might be a higher level. Before I say anything, I may choose to stay again for the location! This property is not 'Shangri-LA' as you would expect - the windows are all dirty which is disappointing for 'Marina View' rooms... The Horizon lounge furniture is closer to school lunch hall style, and the dinner - well, I don't eat in food halls with sausage rolls and spring rolls. We ate in the main street which was AWESOME!. The ping pong table is bent, bats are without surface, and the air hockey machine without pucks.. Basically a 'cashing in on the brand' experience..."

"The room is large and clean, and there is a swimming pool downstairs for playing in the water. The front desk is open 24 hours a day, and refunds are very fast in the early morning. The location is in the center of Cairns, there are many foods nearby, and it is not far from the sea pier and supermarket."

"The Mantra Hotel has outstanding location. It is directly in front of the Woolworths supermarket - the best option in central Cairns. It's also virtually opposite (the esplanade side)the lagoon public beachfront swimming pool. Finally it's just a 5 minute walk from Cairns Cruise Terminal, with outstanding day trips to Green Island, Fitzroy Island and the Reef. I booked a sea view room. When you enter the room, you don't see the ocean, but a building across the road. However, the view from the balcony was amazing. The balcony overlooks the main features of lagoon on the sea front. During the day it is great view - the lagoon pools and sea in the background. At night you cannot see the sea (as to be expected) but you have the amazing lagoon lights, which makes it very desirable and even romantic. Our room was at the end of block, which overlooks a shopping mall (no car noise) - looking right from the balcony is the lagoon view and looking left is a mountain view. However, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm the sun comes directly into the balcony area, which means it unusable until sun sets. Of course if you don't mind baking in the sun on the balcony, this is not really a concern. The room itself is pretty basic. The mini fridge of OK and TV has domestic channels only - no cable TV for BBC/CNN. The bathroom is of a good size. There is combined shower & bath. However, when using the shower, it can slightly flood this bathroom. A shower curtain may be desirable because the glass panel is not sufficient enough. At $225 per night this hotel was not cheap and you can better deals by coming in the off-season OR going bit further down the esplanade, and choosing another hotel. The Mantra does have its own pool and it is wonderfully heated, with normal deck chairs you would expect at 4 star hotel. However, the pool gets very little natural sunlight, because it of its location between 2 buildings. Overall, the hotel has amazing location, and it is still recommended, despite the shortcomings mentioned. My final note: When we checked in, I was impressed with the level of service provided by the receptionist. She had a very welcome attitude and a wonderful personality."

"Overall, I was very satisfied, but when we checked in, we were told that the king-size room we booked was fully booked and we could only get a twin-size room, which was really incomprehensible. But the rest was really good. I especially like the handsome guys and girls at the front desk who helped us book nearby attractions and were very friendly and kind. Our trip to Cairns was also very beautiful and smooth because of them."
