"For my 21-day trip to Australia, I stayed in 11 hotels, mainly across Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide. Here's my ranking of the hotels from best to worst in terms of overall experience, with value for money factored in: 1. Capella Sydney (Lower value for money) 2. Meriton Suites Waterloo, Sydney (High value for money) 10. Best Western Plus Travel Inn Hotel, Melbourne (Lower value for money) 11. The Hotel Windsor, Melbourne (Worst value for money) The Park Hyatt Melbourne stood out as having the best service among all 11 hotels. We arrived around 5:00 PM and were informed our room wasn't quite ready, requiring a 10-15 minute wait. Before I could even react, the front desk staff immediately offered complimentary breakfast for the next day as an apology, along with a voucher for two drinks at the lobby bar while we waited. Of course, we happily accepted! The hotel's location is a little outside the very center, situated behind Parliament House and right next to St. Patrick's Cathedral, which you can see from the rooms. Fitzroy Gardens, home to Cook's Cottage, is also within walking distance and worth a visit. I was very impressed with the hotel's amenities. The room even had a three-prong power outlet, a feature I didn't find in any other hotel. The 'old money' decor gave it a grounded and understated elegance. Breakfast was excellent and very extensive, with freshly made Western pastries that were incredibly delicious. I heard their flat white is even better than those from popular specialty coffee shops. The heated pool was long and narrow, feeling like it was definitely more than 25 meters. There's also a tennis court available for A$50 an hour, though you need to bring your own racket."

"It's a domestic four-star hotel. The foreign man at the front desk has very poor service! He didn't even give me water! I've never seen anything like this! Bath salts cost 10 Australian dollars, and there were no toothbrushes or cotton pads! Breakfast was a single order! There was a Malaysian girl at the front desk who was very nice."

"Convenient location to go sightseeing, veryclosely with Rundle Mall and airport. However, the cuisine for dinner is too salty, can improve for changing the menu. Overall, good to stay at the hotel even though the room rate is a bit higher than weekdays as football event held at the Oval Stadium."

"Great hotel, pool wasn’t that warm when me and my partner stayed so it wasn’t that enjoyable. It was also quite small more of a lap pool than anything. Our fan above the shower was quite dusty they sent someone in the room to clean it when we left and they did. Claimed that the fans are cleaned weekly but I beg to differ. The room was quite small for the price as well our sink had to be closed almost the whole time because it stunk out the room so badly. Didn’t get that well or a view from our room either. Beds are comfy and feel good. Shower was great we didn’t have a bath in our room. Overall I wouldn’t spend that much for that room again cause it wasn’t that worth it"

"Got a free room upgrade, and it was the biggest room I've had on this Australia trip. The location is great, right at the entrance to Chinatown, with tons of dining and shopping options nearby. The only downside is the parking. The hotel's paid parking lot is quite a distance away, so I had to park there and it was a hassle getting back and forth to the hotel. Valet parking also required a wait. There are some paid 3-hour parking spots on either side of the hotel that become free after 9:00 PM, but you have to get lucky to snag one."

"The hotel is generally nice And the staff members are super friendly. Facility-wise, it is a bit out-dated, but you can see this staff is trying the best to keep it clean. They also have an interesting buffet offering for 20 dollars, i haven't tried it out, but i heard it quite nice."

While the immediate hotel dining is unremarkable, the culinary upside is concentrated nearby. Specifically, Seoul Express on Hindley Street provides high-quality Korean fare that serves as a necessary antidote to standard hotel catering. Stay here for the operational efficiency; look elsewhere if you require aesthetic inspiration."
