Hotels in Eight Great Passes/No.1 Bathing Beach, Qingdao

For our family trip, we chose the Qingdao Haitian Hotel. The hotel's setting, amenities, and location were all exceptional. But what truly set it apart was the service, which far exceeded our expectations. We stayed for three nights, and Jack on the Executive Floor provided such incredibly thoughtful service that he truly made us feel at home. He even upgraded us to an Executive Floor room. He also thoughtfully considered our travel fatigue and provided steam eye masks to help us unwind. If we ever get the chance to visit Qingdao for a third time, Haitian will undoubtedly be our top choice. It truly offers a home-away-from-home experience.

I'm extremely pleased with my stay, and it offers excellent value for money. The hotel is located right on Zhongshan Road. While the area downstairs is bustling, the soundproofing is excellent, so the room was very quiet. The location is superb; several famous attractions are within walking distance, making it ideal for city walks. Additionally, the staff at the front desk were incredibly warm and helpful. The room came equipped with a complimentary mini-fridge and drinks, and even a nail care kit – a very thoughtful touch. The breakfast was varied and plentiful, and it tasted great. The hotel's entrance isn't grand, but the overall experience was top-notch, which is why I've written such a lengthy review. Satisfied!

The room was spotless and well-equipped, featuring a charming retro-style courtyard design. Most importantly, it's located right on Shangjieli Pedestrian Street, which I consider Qingdao's best spot for photos, shopping, and soaking in the local vibe (Yinyu Lane is close but doesn't compare). As soon as you step out, you're surrounded by various small shops, so you'll have no trouble finding food, drinks, or entertainment. Don't bother booking breakfast with your room; there are plenty of breakfast options right across the street. You're also right on the famous Zhongshan Road. The Cathedral is just a short walk away, and if you head south for about 800 meters, you'll reach Zhanqiao Pier, perfect for playing in the sand by the sea. On your way back, a seafood meal at '1937' is highly recommended and truly satisfying. The hotel also has a designated, very convenient parking lot, just about a 5-minute walk away. For day two, if you plan to drive to Badaguan, simply search for 'Badaguan Scenic Area Taipingjiao 1st Road Ground Parking Lot' for convenient parking. From there, you can walk along the coast directly to Huashi Lou (Flower Stone Building) and then explore the area's other attractions at your leisure.

Location is excellent, with an exit to Metro Line 3 just outside the hotel, 2 mins walk away. The street behind the hotel also has lots of local eateries then there's a big mall just across the road. Room is a good size and I'm impressed that everything comes in a sanitized/disinfected sealed packaging, including all the towels! Gives a strong comfort on hygiene. The sockets are all universal, so no need for adaptors. It's also a smart room installed with Xiao Du AI with voice command capability. The shower water pressure is strong. Bed is firm and they've got both the firm foam pillow and soft ones to fit different preferences. The room also came with a free fruit platter and ample complimentary bottled water. I also like that the room doors come with inspiring quotes. Each level has a washing machine and dryer and small microwave. The lobby is huge and staff are friendly and helpful. If I must find fault, it's probably in the security in the sense that the lift does not require key card access so anyone can just come up to the rooms. Though I did not experience anything unsafe during my stay. A truly 5* experience at 4* pricing. Certainly my choice hotel the next time I return to Qingdao.

It is recommended to stay on a high floor. There are also perfumes to try. There is a restaurant in the courtyard, but the soundproofing is average Service: The service is very good. I have always wanted to come to Qingdao to play. When I was looking for a hotel, my friend and I highly recommended this one. I thought about how good it could be. I didn’t expect to really tell him that the service and warmth were hidden in the details. For the bathroom area, the customized roll paper is sticked with the brand logo, which instantly improves the sense of exclusiveness. Even the makeup mirror has a sense of exquisiteness and shows the quality. The service is super intimate and at home! The most amazing thing is that the fourth floor is directly the sea view cafe! Sisters, be sure to order a cup of coffee and be in a daze against the sea. This experience is directly sealed!

Facilities: The room was exceptionally clean and well-maintained. The butler service was very attentive and thoughtful. Hygiene: Spotlessly clean, the temperature was perfect, and there were no unpleasant odors. The soundproofing was also excellent. Environment: The traffic getting here was incredibly congested, so I'd strongly advise against driving. A heads-up about peak times to avoid would have been really helpful. Qinyu Road Instagrammable Couple's Afternoon Coffee & Cake: Both the cake and coffee were of excellent quality, truly great from presentation to taste. However, the service attitude wasn't as good as what you'd find at a guesthouse. When verifying our room number, the staff quickly scanned one page and immediately claimed they couldn't find our booking, despite it being on the very next page. They came across as quite impatient and unprofessional. Nevertheless, the ambiance and the food quality were excellent, and the breakfast was also delicious.

The hotel is conveniently located near May Fourth Square, the Olympic Sailing Center, and the MixC Mall. The subway is easily accessible, and there's ample underground parking. Check-in was prompt and helpful, and water was provided upon check-out. Tsingtao beer was available at the front desk upon arrival, along with a Qingdao tourist map. The service was attentive.

The second time I stayed here, next to Huashi Tower in Badaguan Scenic Area, it is suitable for families with the elderly. Some buildings do not have elevators, and the restaurant is convenient for eating, but the taste and variety are limited.

The hotel's facilities are very new. It is very close to the subway station, less than 5 minutes' walk away, and very convenient to any tourist attraction. The room is clean and bright, and the TV can be directly projected. It feels very comfortable to live here. On the last day, because of the high-speed rail at night, the front desk was very quick to help me apply for a free late check-out until 2 o'clock. I came back a little late before checking out, and the hotel did not call to urge me. Instead, when I passed by the lobby, they were very considerate to help me update the room card time. The service was perfect! This is my first time traveling alone, but I feel that this hotel gave me a full sense of comfort and security. Thumbs up 👍🏻
