Hotels in May Fourth Square/Olympic Sailing Center, Qingdao

recently stayed at this apartment and had an excellent experience from start to finish. The place was spotless, well-maintained, and exactly as described in the listing. The décor was modern yet cozy, and the apartment was equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable stay – from a fully stocked kitchen to fresh linens and fast Wi-Fi. The location was perfect, close to shops, restaurants, and public transport, making it easy to explore the area. Despite being central, the apartment was very quiet at night, so I slept really well. The host was also fantastic – responsive, friendly, and always ready to help with recommendations or questions. Their attention to detail really made me feel welcome. Overall, this apartment felt like a home away from home, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book it again on my next trip. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and convenient place to stay!

The location is a big plus. It's right by a subway exit, with MixC City just next door, offering plenty of dining options. The facilities are decent, though they feel a bit dated and the lighting is quite dim. It comes equipped with a washing machine, a fridge, and kitchen facilities. Cleanliness was just average.

Rooms: We were on 33/F. New and good size. Washer-dryer worked well. You have to ask for plates, bowls and cutlery. It is worth spending a bit extra to get the sea-view room for the view of the bay and the light show in the evening which is great. The corridors are all a bit grim, don't worry the rooms are good. There are just 3 lifts for the whole 35 storey building which is full of apartment hotels. So the wait for the lift can be a long time. Better to be a high floor so the lift is less full when it finally comes. You have access to the Mix C Mall (which is huge) from both 6/F and LG Location: Perfect. Next to May 4th Station. DiDi stop outside. Walking distance to May 4th Square and light show. Lots of shops and supermarket in Mix C. Several convenience stores nearby. Service: okay. They will get you to join them on WeChat and you make requests that way. They sort out requests quite quickly. Language: Mandarin only

The room was impeccable, featuring a stunning floor-to-ceiling window with panoramic sea views, a spacious and impeccably clean king-size bed, breathtaking scenery, and a captivating light show at night. The sumptuous breakfast and afternoon tea were truly delightful, and the fruit platter was a particular highlight for my wife. The convenient car service, the manager's dedication and professionalism, and the doormen's thoughtful and attentive service all contributed to an exceptional stay. A huge thank you to all the staff for their exceptional efforts; Haitian truly lives up to its reputation as a 'super five-star' hotel. Beautiful Qingdao, and the grand, luxurious Haitian left us with unforgettable memories and made us long to stay longer. We wish Haitian Hotel continued prosperity and even greater success! The hotel boasts a luxurious and elegant lobby, and its prime central location in Qingdao puts it close to May Fourth Square and MixC Mall. Certain floors offer stunning sea views. With Metro Lines 2 and 3 conveniently located right outside the hotel entrance, guests can easily access and transfer to all of Qingdao's attractions, many of which provide free entry for seniors. The hotel staff are highly attentive and promptly resolve any issues. Dining options include Chinese, Western, and Japanese restaurants, where the set menus offer great value for money. This hotel is truly the best choice for anyone visiting Qingdao.

We were given a complimentary room upgrade, which was a lovely surprise. The room was very spacious, and the service was excellent. For families traveling with kids, having laundry facilities available was incredibly convenient. The breakfast area was very clean and well-maintained; it would have been even better with a wider variety of options. The hotel's location is also very convenient for getting around, with easy access to Metro Lines 2 and 3, plus various bus routes. One minor issue was the low water pressure in the bathroom and slow drainage, which might be due to ongoing renovations.

A wonderful and cozy hotel with a perfect location! I had a fantastic stay here. The property is beautiful, the breakfasts are great, and I was so pleasantly surprised to find a coffee maker in my room—it made my mornings perfect. The best part is the incredible location. The hotel is just a short walk from the beautiful seaside promenade, where I enjoyed lovely walks and watched stunning sunsets every evening. It was also incredibly convenient to be able to easily walk to major sights like May Fourth Square and the Olympic Sailing Center. I had such a positive experience that I am already planning to stay here again on my next trip! 🌸🌸🌸

For my trip to Qingdao, I was looking for a hotel with convenient access to transportation, shopping, and dining. After reading numerous traveler reviews, I opted for the newly opened Qingdao Yihai Garden Hotel (May Fourth Square branch). The room was spacious, bright, and comfortable, and the cleanliness was also quite good. The facilities were comprehensive. Although there wasn't a direct sea view, the city lights at night were still dazzling. Breakfast was plentiful, offering local specialty snacks that tasted great. Even with many guests staying, everything remained quite orderly. A notable feature: The laundry room was a very popular spot, often with queues forming. The hotel site originally served as the Qingdao Workers' Sanatorium, which I personally believe contributes to its 'quiet oasis in a bustling city' feel. Downside: As some other guests have mentioned, the shower water temperature would occasionally fluctuate between hot and cold, and the water spray was too dispersed. I hope this can be improved.

The location is excellent, and as a standalone building, it offers a great environment. Our room on the 5th floor was very quiet. Most facilities have been updated and are in excellent condition. We appreciated that the floor drain had no odor and drained smoothly, and the shower offered strong, consistent water pressure. The towels were thoughtfully disinfected and sealed in plastic bags. Both the air conditioning and the Xiaomi air purifier operated silently. Breakfast was generous, and the staff were all very attentive and had excellent attitudes. Minor drawbacks: The electric curtains couldn't be paused midway. The bathroom was quite small, and the mural above the toilet was unappealing. Furthermore, the bedside tables and desk surfaces were made of outdated, rather shabby plywood.

The hotel boasts an excellent location, just a 10-minute walk from the subway station, and within walking distance of the Olympic Sailing Center and May Fourth Square. While the hotel has clearly been around for some time, its facilities, though not brand new, are impeccably maintained. The bedding was exceptionally comfortable. My only suggestion for improvement would be the breakfast; it felt a little overpriced for what was offered, perhaps due to efforts to cater to international palates. A special mention goes to the incredibly friendly and enthusiastic staff. They even upgraded our room during the peak summer season! We had initially planned to stay for two nights and then move to another hotel, but we loved it so much that we canceled our subsequent reservation and extended our stay for an extra night. The hotel restaurant offers great value, and you can even purchase fresh seafood from the nearby Fushan Market and have the hotel prepare it for you – it was delicious and felt very safe. They also gave us complimentary dumplings for leaving a review, which made for a truly delightful evening. All in all, many thanks to all the staff for their excellent service; we had an incredibly pleasant and comfortable stay!
