The hotel is very posh and luxurious. Great location, within 5 minutes walk to main street. Right outside the hotel, there are robot guides that you can rent to ride through the city. Breakfast is delicious, and the service provided is perfect. The only downside is the room is a bit old.

What a superb courtyard boutique hotel, located within the famous and iconic Pingyao ancient city this lovingly restored courtyard residence ticks all the boxes, beautiful rooms, ever present and friendly staff, and a location right on the main walking streets of the city. Here one can immerse oneself in Chinese history while enjoying 21st century comforts. We could easily have stayed another night.

Great hotel at a great location inside the Ancient City. Accommodations are really well maintained and looks like just renovated, while keeping the historical ambiance. Hotel staff speaks English and were very caring during our stay. Great place for a relaxing time. Quiet environment.

This hotel was stunning. Located in the heart of the city. Very charming, it feels like going back in time. Staff is extremely nice and helpful. Crystal at concierge was there for us all the time. Definitely recommended. Only down point: the hotel is very difficult to find. To keep a higher level of exclusivity there is not a single indication on the street. Took a while and some local help to manage.

I have never written a long review, so I will write the first long review for Jinzhai. First of all, I want to express my opinion: I am very satisfied. It is hard to imagine that such a hotel has been open for more than ten years. Because both the maintenance and decoration are very exquisite. The work designed by a foreign designer more than ten years ago has not been outdated until today, and it will not be outdated in the future. The application of light at night is a genuine Chinese aesthetic. It is not bright or dark, just right. The hygiene of Jinzhai can accept the scrutiny of detail control. The breakfast tastes very good. If it is not enough, you can add some, and the taste is not bad. The black tea and Pu'er tea also use very good tea leaves (not tea bags). The seasonal fruits are washed and placed in the restaurant area for you to take. (I eat 2 peaches almost every day 🍑) The waiters inside can do it, one-to-one service. Kind, considerate and meticulous. Many hotels are decorated very luxuriously, but they give people a sense of distance. Jinzhai gives people a sense of security. There is a feeling of going home. If you want to experience northern folk houses, if you want to come to Pingyao, you must not miss Jinzhai. For Jinzhai, I am willing to come to Pingyao for the second time.

The room is a bit old, but otherwise it's OK, clean and sanitary, the staff is the best service in Shanxi. The breakfast is good, and it is super convenient to go to scenic spots and visit the ancient city from the hotel.

My family and I decided to come to Pingyao during the Qingming Festival on a whim. Booking this hotel was the best decision we made during this trip. Service: The service attitude is very good, and it really makes guests feel at home. Before checking in, we will contact you in advance to confirm the arrival time. After arriving, we will first provide hand towels and hot tea. Because of personal reasons, the dinner we booked was late for a long time, and we will also help to reserve it. It can be felt that everything is based on the needs of the guests. Environment: The overall environment is very classical. In the extremely noisy Pingyao city during the Qingming Festival, you can enjoy a quiet place. The overall experience is very good. If I come here to play next time, I will definitely book it again.

Jinzhai is really super super super awesome 👍🏻The housekeepers and staff in the house are very enthusiastic, patient and gentle! It gives people a feeling of being at home. The house is very large and antique with 14 rooms. The children have a lot of fun playing in the yard outside the room. The small suite we stayed in was suitable for 2 adults and 2 children, and they all slept very comfortably. There are simple Chinese and Western breakfasts to order, as well as homemade bread and jam, which taste great! There are many people in Pingyao Ancient City, and Jinzhai is the place where we have the best experience in these two days. And the photos are very good~ I will stay here again if I have the opportunity to come to Pingyao again in the future. The children are reluctant to leave... I recommend everyone to feel the charm of Jinzhai🥰

The most peaceful and stylish place in the chaotic city. (Compared to the place where I stayed the day before, this place is really quiet and comfortable, unlike other hotels where it may be noisy due to the wooden structure and you can hear any noise) The service staff are really considerate and make you feel at home. As soon as you enter the door, you will get handkerchiefs and warm ginger tea. The lobby smells good and calms you down. The key point is that the overall maintenance is also very good (I didn't expect it was completed in 2009). If I go again, I will choose to stay here!

I usually choose hotels by price from top to bottom. Although Jinzhai is not the most expensive in Pingyao, the decoration looks acceptable to me. Other hotels are really too old-fashioned. The hotel upgraded me to a suite. Actually, it is not very meaningful for me to live alone, and the bedroom is too small. The living room is OK, with a small square table for my Alien M18r, which is just right for playing Black Myth Wukong. The hotel service is very good. Breakfast is European or Chinese style, not buffet, but the taste is OK. You can ask the hotel to call a battery car for travel, but it costs 10 yuan per person per time except for free check-in and check-out. But there are several shortcomings. First, there is no TV, which is not accustomed to by the elderly. Second, there is no one-button switch at the bedside, and you have to get up to turn off the lights after sleeping.

Although Pingyao is under renovation and gives people a feeling of chaos, Jinzhai makes up for all the regrets. The hotel has been open for a long time, but it is well maintained. The decoration of the public area is also classic. The service is very, very good. We almost missed the time to see Pingyao again. The waiter helped us think of various ways and finally managed to get in on time. In addition, breakfast is ordered. There are many varieties, exquisite and delicious. The only drawback is that the kettle in the room seems to be broken, but it does not affect the experience at all. I wish Jinzhai and Pingyao will get better and better
