Pingyao Hotels with Gym

This is a gorgeous hotel that is centrally-located inside the ancient city with great service. It’s like living in a museum! The hotel is housed in a thoughtfully renovated ancient college with a beautiful courtyard for chatting, eating, and chilling. The rooms are large, clean, and quiet. I really enjoyed the traditional mat style bed. The hotel is a short walk away from the bustling Main Street. It was very convenient to walk to most attractions inside the walled City. The hotel owner also arranged free transport to take me to the high speed rail station. The service was wonderful. No complaints! If you’re staying here, I recommend checking out not just the ancient walled city but also the ancient temples in the area. I would stay here again without hesitation.

The ancient city Pingyao and the Yundingxuan hotel blowed our mind. The hotel provide free pickup from the train station. We took the high speed train arrived at Pingyaocheng station which is around 15 minutes away from the ancient city. When you enter the city wall gate, you will be amazed of the narrow streets and cobblestone road. Picked Yundingxuan hotel because it was closed to the North gate so If the taxi was to dropped us off it’ll be a short walk but the driver dropped us off near the hotel because cars are not allowed within the main streets. The hotel is closed to 200 years old and have characteristics of the Ming and Qing dynasties. I was born in Vietnam, With roots to China but raised up in the US since I was 7 years old. I’ve seen Chinese movies but nothing will prepare you to the hotel and the ancient city. I was surprised how big the hotel complex was. All the staff were very nice, the main host spoke English, and the breakfasts were traditional Chinese breakfast. We stayed two nights and we felt safe throughout our visit. My wife and daughter appreciated the three hotel cats and all the felines throughout the city. I’m sure the other hotels are fantastic and will give your a unique experience but I can vouch for Yundingxuan. Just be prepared to get out your comfort zone but be amazed by the visual and taste of Pingyao Ancient City.

Trip did NOT indicate that hotel provides free shuttle to and from airport and train station. We went through some problems to get through to the hotel and request shuttle from east gate as the taxi is not allowed to enter the old city. The shuttle together with the receptionist promptly showed up and fetch us right on the dot at the gate. Wendy was exceptionally helpful; lugged our suitcase and showed us our room. On check out, arranged from shuttle to send us to the train station, waved goodbye and saw us off.

Although the ancient city of Pingyao is very deserted in December. But the hotel is very welcoming and heart-warming. In the off-season, the service of this hotel is most in line with the star standard. Because the entrance to the underground parking lot is not easy to enter, they also specially sent us a drive-in method to guide us to find the underground parking lot. Had a very comfortable rest all night. The pictures and videos were taken in preparation for check-out, not new arrivals. For reference only.

From decoration to facilities, the hotel feels very attentive. It has the feel of All Seasons or Atour. It is quite clean and the front desk service attitude is also good. However, there are a few areas that need to be improved. 1. Parking management, parking pick-up and drop-off are the facade of the hotel, so be careful. 2. It would be nice if the front desk could put more effort into welcoming tea. This hotel is very close to the ancient city. There is no need to stay in the ancient city. It is so convenient to take a taxi back and forth.

Facilities: How should I put it? The room is not big, but it has everything that should be there. If I have to say it by level, it feels a bit like an economy hotel. But it is definitely worth the price. The main point is economical and affordable! It is quite good. Hygiene: It is quite good, and I didn't feel uncomfortable. I booked two rooms and lived in front of the door. The bathroom I stayed in had a little smell, but the other one didn't. Environment: It is quite good, with three courtyards, and all the characteristics that Pingyao should have Service: The lady is very gentle, and she not only recommended delicious restaurants to us, but also gave us a coupon for 20% off. It is indeed much cheaper than the actual price. However, the order shows that there are drinks that were not given to me, and the special gift package was not given when I checked in. It was only given to me when I asked when I checked out. It kind of ruined the atmosphere

酒店環境很好，服務周到，早餐品種多而且分時段連續不斷地供應，在規定時間內，早餐餐品沒有斷缺。晚上還附贈免費橫坡村燈光秀之旅。酒店後面 100米就是＜又見平遙＞的實景演出場地，離平遙古城入城口 800米左右，交通非常便利。

The mattress is moderately firm and the bedding is fluffy and skin-friendly. After a good night's sleep, the fatigue is all gone. The bathroom facilities are unexpectedly modern, the wet and dry separation design is intimate, the hot water is abundant, and the quality of toiletries is not inferior to high-end hotels. Details are added everywhere: air conditioning floor heating should deal with the temperature difference in the four seasons, the sound insulation effect is excellent, and the noise of the ancient street outside the window is not disturbed; Retro tea sets, charging sockets, storage space are all available, taking into account aesthetics and practicality. The daily room cleaning is meticulous, and even the corners are spotless, making people feel particularly at ease. If you want to immerse yourself in Pingyao's sense of history and not abandon the convenience of the city, this is definitely the best solution!
