Pensions in Imabari

"This graceful ryokan has been running a business for 150 years located in a sedated little town. Maybe it’s off season. I felt I was in the middle of nowhere worrying what to do with my time there. However Izumi San the host has been helping me above and beyond trying to make me feel welcome. She escorted me to and from the onsen each night punctually. She got all the information for me to rent a bicycle and get me the bus time table ready for me to travel to Hiroshima. Btw the bike ride was amazing and is a must do for islands hopping. Although we communicated mostly through Google translate and some of my broken Japanese. We have had some good laugh. Chaume did offer me couple of restful nights. To Izumi San, arigato gozaimasu. 💝"

"The building is old, but the accommodation was lovely and well-maintained. The view from the room was also great. Above all, the food was excellent. For dinner we had fish sashimi, simmered fish, tempura, and vinegared dishes. The simmered fish was delicious. It was called ”ako,” and apparently it's a luxury fish at the market. It was fresh, with really firm flesh, and was great. The facilities are old, and since it's basically a guesthouse, there are shared baths, toilets, and sinks. If you can accept that, it's a great place to stay. The landlady (?) was also friendly and nice. I used it on a bicycle trip, and I think I'd go again. I'll upload a picture of the view from my room."
