not bad for the city but could be better

The hotel facilities are average, but it is relatively okay to find this hotel in a small city. It's just that the price doesn't quite match the hotel's facilities, and the price/performance ratio is average.

The hotel is located near the University of Pécs, in the triangular center of the Old Town Square, Zsolney Cultural Park and the train station. It only takes ten minutes to walk anywhere (in terms of travel, you can stay anywhere in a city as small as Pecs). The environment is quiet and the room size is good. Larger, facilities meet needs, clean and tidy, twins can be made into a large bed. There is no free drinking water in the room, and the quilt is a little thin. Overall a good place to live.

We were only here for one night but everything we experienced was perfectly nice. The service, rooms, and breakfast were all good. The location allowed us to walk anywhere in town. It was also close to a tram stop.

We had high expectations in advanced, looking forward to visit the city we once studied in. The lack of hospitality was shocking -the personnel (or one person) in the reception should have been banned from any sort of people contact -service is not a word in his/hers vocabulary. Rooms are filthy! Disgusting stains on the carpet, hairs all over the bathroom -and what looks like nails in the corners. No house keeping was the answer we got when we addressed this. Later going to bed -the mattresses are so firm that it might as well be a park bench underneath -so if you are up for a life long dependency of a chiropractor or a fresh decubitus -then this is the hotel for you! We did not get any extra over mattress (even if it is marked as optional extra service on the hotels web page) because “no house keeping” an the time was 9:30 pm. We did not want house keeping -just a mattress. We asked for a extra cover, also that request was unfriendly denied. Be aware! Hospitality and service is not to be found here!

A conference weekend is behind me. Nice hotel placed in good area. All of attractions are near by, in just about 10 minutes walk, maximum. Staff very nice, helpful and friendly. Rooms are big and confortable. You have all you need in them. The only cons about rooms are really unconfortable pillows!? You have two of a kinds of pillows, and both are not good ... Food: traditional, delicious Hungarian food, but not too many different choices - two, but combined with warious sorts of salats, tastes great! The card key - I don't know how it happened but it didn't work. Thanx to my rommate, so I could've used the room. I went to the reception to complain about the issue few times and they repared it, but it just didn't work at all...for that matter and a really unconfortable pillows, I give my 4 stars. All the rest is just perfect and I would recommende it to my friends!

Very disappointed by this hotel where a somewhat strange practice caught our attention. The morning after our arrival a small blue envelope had been left on the windshield of our car, in Hungarian only. While sightseeing during the day we found another envelope similar to the first. You guessed it, it was a or rather a second fine. Not speaking Hungarian and having no bank account on site, the hotel kindly offered to act as an intermediary and go to the post office in our place to pay these fines while we paid them at the hotel in cash. We left the hotel serenely the next day after having confirmed that the necessary had been done ... Except that the amount deposited at the post office was not that of the amount due and therefore the sum to be paid. So we received a note on our return to France from our car rental company Hertz informing us that since we had not paid the real amount of these fines on time, they were debiting us for the amount actually due. Despite numerous reminders to the hotel and unfortunately due to the lack of proof of receipt from the hotel, we were unable to get through. So, be wary if you are offered this service... we learned our lesson a little late. Don't trust!!!

Upon arrival you immediately understand that the choice was the best: non-existent welcome as well as reserved parking (furthermore, all around the hotel are subject to a fee). Missed daily cleaning, night alarm, uncomfortable pillows. We take comfort in the excellent location.

We slept only one night in this hotel near the center of Pecs. Nice interior, friendly staff. The room and the bathroom were good, too bad the TV only broadcast in Hungarian and German. Dinner with rich buffet, as well as breakfast.

The cleanliness was very disappointing and unfortunately we used the laundry service and they completely ruined my husband's suit! Bad! They didn't even apologize but they wanted to justify themselves. The truth is that they gave the cleaning lady a tailored suit to wash instead of a dry cleaner: we never would have thought of such a thing. Lost dress… don't make the same mistake as ours….

The beds were not made, the towels were changed only with luck and the air conditioning was broken at 35 degrees! Despite complaints at reception nobody felt responsible. We want to go back to Pécs soon but definitely not in this hotel.
