"This stay experience directly exceeded expectations, must be five-star praise! The location of the homestay is excellent, within walking distance to business districts and attractions, and it is very convenient to travel and eat. The whole house was cleaned spotlessly, the bathroom was separated from wet and dry without smell, and the toiletries were all available. The landlord is gentle and caring, and there is a problem in seconds. The overall quiet and not noisy, the price is far more than the surrounding hotels, has been recommended to friends, come back to the local must stay!"

GGuest UserWe absolutely loved our stay at 山古民宿 Shangu Homestay. The room was spacious, well presented in ******* style, and kept wonderfully warm with underfloor heating. The window-side lounge area was so cozy that we didn’t want to leave after three nights. Dinner was a highlight—the ******* hotpot was delicious, with fresh yak meat, vegetables, and noodles. Breakfast included fruit, ******* butter tea, and tsampa, giving us a real taste of local traditions.
The host was incredibly welcoming and shared fascinating stories about ******* culture, nomadic life, and even how to make incense. During our stay, it snowed heavily, and our children had a fantastic time playing in the snow with the host. It was not just accommodation, but a cultural journey filled with warmth and unforgettable memories. Highly recommended!
我們非常喜歡山古民宿！房間充滿西藏風格，寬敞舒適，還有地暖讓整個空間非常溫暖。窗邊的坐臥區特別舒服，我們住了三個晚上，離開時還依依不捨。晚餐的藏式火鍋令人驚艷，新鮮的氂牛肉、蔬菜和麵條都非常美味。早餐提供水果、藏式酥油茶和糌粑，讓我們真切感受到藏族的飲食文化。
民宿主人非常熱情，分享了許多關於藏族文化、遊牧生活以及製作藏香的故事，讓我們收穫滿滿。在住宿期間還遇上一場大雪，孩子和民宿主人一起玩雪，笑聲不斷，留下了難忘的回憶。這次的體驗不僅是住宿，更像是一場深度的文化之旅，我們非常推薦！

GGuest UserIt was really nice. The room was large and clean. There were grasslands all around the window. It was a great view to be able to enjoy from the bed. There were so many wildflowers on the grassland. The owner was very humorous and enthusiastic. And most importantly!! The food was delicious. Everything was tasty. Don't worry. The seven of us ate two meals together and ordered a lot. Not a single one was disappointing.

MMaopaixiaolatiaoWe checked in quite late last night, and our housekeeper, Xiaoji, contacted us ahead of time with all the necessary information and waited for us. We were so touched! The floor heating in the room was already on, making it very warm and comfortable. We woke up to a shroud of mist, and even saw hares and marmots. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise, very rich, delicious, and the coffee was excellent. As we sat by the fireplace, sipping coffee and enjoying breakfast, the hotel manager was always attentive and helpful, even introducing us to nearby attractions. I hear the weather is most beautiful in July and August, so I'd definitely stay a couple more days next time.

GGuest UserAlthough the rooms are a bit cramped, they are fully equipped. The owners provide attentive and meticulous service. Free parking is available in the small courtyard. The reception desk and the coffee bar on the third floor are filled with interesting traditional cultural knowledge. When you come to Xiahe County, you must visit Xicheng Inn!

GGuest UserExtremely charming Tibetan-style hotel. It was decorated very beautifully, with lovely wooden furniture and rugs, and corridors full of plants. We got the cheapest room, with a shared bathroom, but even this room was very spacious, and the shared bathroom was nearby. It was warm in the room, with the option to open the window to cool it down. The staff were very accommodating, and helped us book a taxi and answered our questions via Google translate. The hotel has a delicious restaurant, where we ate both breakfast and dinner, including lots of ******* food prepared freshly. The location is perfect for visiting Labrang monastery - they do English tours there even in March.

GGuest UserWhen booking the hotel, I specifically checked other guests' reviews. It still exceeded my expectations. The guesthouse isn't located on the main street, but in an alley, near the Wuzelinka ******* Restaurant. We arrived at the guesthouse on the evening of the 2nd, and it was snowing that night. The owners and their family came out to pick us up—they were incredibly friendly! The two-story rooms were both very clean. Our electric blanket broke, and they bought us a new one the next day. They also always let us know before we went out or when we returned. Breakfast was home-style, with millet porridge, white eggs, etc. On my second day, I caught a cold and experienced some altitude sickness, and the guesthouse owner gave us medicine! In short, I recommend this guesthouse to everyone visiting Xiahe! The only downside was that our trip was a bit rushed, so I didn't take many photos of the guesthouse.

GGuest UserI had a truly unique and enjoyable stay at this campsite. Not only was the accommodation comfortable, but there was also so much to do. During the day, you step right out into vast grasslands with beautiful scenery everywhere you look – perfect for stunning photos. In the evenings, the campsite comes alive with lively bonfire parties, creating a fantastic atmosphere. At night, you can gaze up at a sky full of stars; the view is incredibly open. Overall, it was peaceful and therapeutic, allowing me to relax and have a great time. It's the ideal spot for a relaxing grassland getaway.

GGuest UserThe dorm was very clean and equipped with a kettle, which was nice. I was the only guest during my stay. As mentioned in the other reviews, the dorm is located in the basement and you have to walk a bit to reach the toilet.
The „shower“ is located across the front desk. It’s a small room where the hotel is storing their cleaning equipment, so showering there is a quite dirty and unpleasant experience. As there are so many dorms in the basement (I would guess 50+ beds), I wonder how they would handle the situation if the hotel is fully booked.
Overall I would recommend staying there for one night, if you are not picky.

GGuest UserThis hotel is located on the 18th floor. The entrance was a bit messy, but I really like the hotel. It has a large screen TV, refrigerator, automatic toilet (the bidet didn't work because I wasn't familiar with how to use it), free drinking water, and automatic curtains. It's almost perfect.
