Cool hotel with a wild lobby on the third floor. Rooms are NYC small but well and interestingly designed.

Everything was great except service levels, no sincere attempt at early check in, not what I expected from a Marriott hotel

Very low cost performance. The receptionist was very grim. When I checked in at 5:40, she said the room was still being cleaned. When I asked what time it would be ready, she couldn't tell me. She would call me when it was ready. We actually got the rooms at 6:10 and 7. I wish you good luck in checking in.

In a word: horrible. The entire stay was paid for on Trip.com, only the super-ominous "destination fee" was due. When you arrive at the hotel, you are immediately overwhelmed by the "reception". A table in a 10 square meter anteroom in front of the elevators. Because the reception staff are extremely slow (with explanations of what other fees they charge, what you can use this "destination fee" for (e.g. renting a bike, in November :-D ). That's why there are so many people waiting there that you can hardly get into the elevator. Ridiculous. When you finally get to your room, it's OK, not much to complain about. However, the hotel blocked over $600 "pending" on my credit card for 3 nights and when I asked what that was about, no one could really explain it, they just said "as long as it is pending, I wouldn't worry". Well, after checking out, $485 was changed from "pending" to "debited". The hotel is unreachable, you can only call a +1 American number, but I don't feel like doing that, it will cost me several euros in phone charges. Trip.com chat took me hours, but they bite at the hotel also on granite. I have been waiting 34 days for 485 US$.

The location is okay, the room is relatively small, and the mandatory consumption of 25 dollars can be used for breakfast

The hotel environment is exquisite and the rooms are small but clean. 

There is a destination fee of $30, which will give you a token to exchange for a drink in the downstairs bar, no need to refund. It's a pity that the bar downstairs is closed at 11 o'clock in the evening.
