The service standard still need some improvement in order to catch up with the international chain hotels, especially during the checking in.

Good Very good

Absolutely magnificent. The structure, location and staff is pure perfection. It felt like we were living in another epoch.

A hotel full of history as it has been the chosen venue for important events in Nara. Many celebrities had stayed in this hotel including Albert Einstein. Tried the rice lager at the tea house which is very good tgough some may find it not strong enough. The vicinity is nice. It is within waljing distance of the famous Nara Park. The room is spacious. Shuttle bus service to Nara station is excellent. Very helpful staff. An enjoyable stay indeed!

Good ..The guide lady who helped show me the way was especially nice. She could even speak a bit of Chinese. She helped me get on the shuttle bus to the station. And the scenery around here is really amazing.

The staff do not speak much English. Especially for room service, they are very polite and wanted to be helpful unfortunately due to barriers in language, we cannot communicate effectively

the hotel is old (or called it historical)，and so it is the service and management！ none spoke English and I was totally confused time to times because there were so many hotel rules that you must follow. there were so many people，about 6，in the front desk area，all their jobs seemed to be not to provide services to the guest but to make sure the guests had followed their rules which they were not even able to explain in English. I don't think this is a hotel for international guests. not a good experience.

Old hotel , old fashioned facilities. Expensive and not worth to live there. Nothing special.

Exceeded expections on all grounds! I am so happy with the hotel I wanted to spread the word. This hotel has great old world charm and more. I was a little worried about the condition of the hotel (more than 100 years old!) but everything was fine. I stayed at the Main Wing / basic room with park view. The bathroom was basic (business hotel like) but very clean, but the room / bedding and the view at our window was wonderful. Given the low price point, we were very happy with the room. Definitely recommend the Main Wing, and if you can, a room with higher price point. All staff, from shuttle bus / concierge / front desk / bar, are excellent. We really enjoyed the check in process - you can sit at the lounge admiring Einstein's piano while the front staff comes calling your name. Also try the tea lounge both during the day and night (turns to a bar). I would also like to extend special thanks to Korean speaking front manager Lee Su Jin who helped us in so many ways. She really made our stay comfortable. One thing to note about Nara city itself is that most venues close at 4pm and have unpredictable operating hours. You can't just walk around hoping to sit down at a cafe or restaurant. Highly recommend making reservations in advance of your trip and I'm sure Nara hotel concierge can help with this. I really enjoyed Nara Hotel and look really forward to returning.

Amazing hotel with best location, wonderful service and long history. City center but surrounded by nature, 2 deers walked by restaurant window during breakfast. Will definitely come back!

In room wifi system is bad. Wifi to my room was broken. (Room 3316). Staff have little english and cannot get IT support in the evening when i need wifi help.

Amazing service with luxurious rooms, loved the stay!

Strongly recommending. Historic hotel with pleasing facility. Perfect position which is 3 minutes away from the nara park on foot. You can even see the wondering deers in the backyard.
