I booked a twin room, but since the accommodation confirmation email said that smoking was possible, I asked for a change of room and changed it to a Japanese-style room. If you want to quit smoking, we recommend avoiding twins as all rooms can smoke. In fact, the smoking room smelled very strong, but the front desk was very good and I was relieved. The facilities are old but there was no problem. Is the sound of flushing the toilet noisy? It's quite comfortable. The bath is Mandai no Yu, which feels gentler than Yubatake no Yu, but Kusatsu no Yu has the power to make your body burn and sleep hard, it's a stone's throw! Both the indoor and open-air baths are quite large and comfortable. The food is the best! This cospa is wonderful for 10,000 yen! !! Moreover, it seems to be a service, but even though it was a basic plan, it had crabs! I dared to avoid crab because it was difficult, but it was still delicious! Thank you! , Is it hard because it is mainly made from Gunma prefecture and has 200g of pork? I didn't expect it, but I was very satisfied with the soft and very good meat at all! Breakfast is also on-parade from Gunma, especially the natto is wonderful and delicious, and it costs 3700 yen for 9 pieces, but I bought it as a souvenir. But considering this price, it's ok at all, and there is a transfer to the daitokan of Yubata, and it is a really wonderful inn with a lot of manga. Absolutely recommended! !! I also want to stay for a long time

Aeruyado Takamatsu in Kusatsu This hotel markets itself online as a boutique hotel in Kusatsu. However, upon check-in, we realised that it was very far from any nice boutique hotel. The room was so small and spartan that we had to move small pieces of furniture out to the tiny balcony in order to accommodate our luggage so that we had walking space. The room pictured online which we booked was not honoured. The room allocated to us faced the car park with no view and a glaring street lamp shone right into our room whole night long. They offered pathetic value for a package of over JPY 42,000. Food was bad. Dinner was served in another hotel which they called Sister Lodge which was a good 5 minutes walk away. Imagine if it was raining or snowing heavily, it would be so inconvenient to walk to the dinner place. Dinner offered was buffet with some set items. The quality of ingredients and taste of food served was not on par as the ones offered at good ryokans, and for a package of above JPY 40,000, it is way below par. Breakfast was again pathetic. We had a choice of mains selected from 3 options given (2 slices of roast beef or scramble egg or omelette). The roast beef served was tiny and tough. The scramble egg served was too watery. I had to request for a change to omelette. The rest was buffet from a small spread. We went to more than 10 ryokans for this trip. The room and board offered by this hotel was the worst we encountered. Everything was below par standard provided by any decent Japanese ryokan for the price tag. The pictures on the website was deceiving and the actual outdoor hot tub was much smaller than the pictures. I will NOT recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. A strong NO NO NO!

The log house was terrific! Very clean, comfortable, fully equipped kitchen plus dining table. Floors were heated which added to the cozy feeling. The raised floor where the futons were laid was not heated though. There were a few add on’s; very thoughtful. There’s an interior door to separate the genkan (entry way) to keep out the draft. There is a bear bell for you to borrow at the front door. There are two emergency buttons to sound an alarm if need be. (Not sure if they work). These small details, someone thought about it. Lovely forest all around the log cabin. Dreamy. Only thing missing, no one came to set up the futon beds at night. Self-serve only. We had half-board; both breakfast and dinner were mediocre. Quality of sushi was poor. There are many activities such as bowling and mini golf. The equipment was old. We didn’t want to wear the old bowling shoes provided. Things were old, but nostalgic.

We stayed for one night on November 28. Reservation is HP of Kusatsu Hotel. We booked a main building corner room with two meals per night. You can pick up and drop off by car from Kusatsu Onsen Bus Terminal. Kusatsu Hotel is a beautiful Japanese style inn with a wooden 3-story building built on the high ground of the entrance to the West Kawahara Park. The quaint building is very good atmosphere. The antique furnishings and decorated raw flowers were modest and beautiful. The adjacent Kataoka Tsurutaro Museum of art seems to be operated by Kusatsu Hotel. The corner room on the 3 floor of the main building was a good room with a good view with two corners surrounded by windows. The old wooden frame window feels good. Thanks to the snow that had fallen the day before, we enjoyed the snowy scenery of Kusatsu. The ”Okuba” of the restaurant, which was extended to 2020, is a modern and bright atmosphere while leaving a Japanese taste. The breakfast and evening meals were beautiful, and all the dishes using fresh ingredients were delicious. The public bath (open-air two hot water) is also in a new separate building. It is full of openness and is kept clean. With a large inner bath with a source hanging water and an open-air bath, Kusatsu! It was a very pleasant hot water. (West Kawahara source) Kusatsu Hotel, great satisfaction with a wonderful inn as word of mouth!

Our accommodation at Kusatsu Onsen was Hotel Sakurai. It is located at the entrance to the south side of the hot spring town and is a good location hotel with a few minutes walk to Yubatake. It was a large hotel in Kusatsu, and the public space in the building was luxurious and wide 々. Among them, there was also a stage of the ”Yumomi Show” held every night, and after dinner it was crowded with many guests. Our room was a twin room in the building called the main guest hall. For the dinner to enjoy, I chose ”Joshu beef and Japanese pork mochi pork shabu shabu & sashimi platter kaiseki”. Many hotels have private rooms at this level of meal content, but I was a little disappointed because it was a meal in a large hall with a wide table spacing. The food itself was delicious and the volume was sufficient. The hot springs were large like large hotels, and after arriving, I was able to enjoy the hot water in Kusatsu before going to bed and early in the morning.

The hot water that the Shogun's hot water pumped up had a high ceiling and the warmth of the wood was very tasteful. The smell of sulfur, the amount of hot water, the slightly white and muddy color ... The quality of Kusatsu Onsen is really good. Flowers and artworks are displayed in the hallways in the hall, making you feel rich. The accommodation fee is a reasonably high inn, but I thought I was spending enough money properly. The employees were always greeted when they saw it, and it was very pleasant. I wanted to drink beer after taking a bath, so I searched for a lounge where I could drink light draft beer, but I didn't. However, there is a cafe with an inn right next door, and you can drink local beer (unfortunately you can't drink draft beer). Because the car is normal tires (because I was worried about snowfall), this time I left my car at the parking lot at the Kusatsuguchi exit of JR Naganohara and went to Kusatsu Onsen by bus. I don't think it's very publicized (I told you to park the car at the Naganohara Kusatsuguchi at the time of booking the inn, but there is no explanation from the inn), but Naganohara Kusatsuguchi ~ Kusatsu Onsen round-trip bus is Park & Ride discount will be 30 % draw (parking ticket required). Since it is downhill from Kusatsu Bus Terminal to the inn (about 5 minutes), it will be a good walk while looking at the hot spring town. I think it is better to use the transfer bus of the inn because it will be climbing on the return.

I stayed overnight in the latter half of the three consecutive holidays. It was an inn with a hot spring bath in the room. The room is very clean and the pets (toy poodle 2) can also spend a relaxing time. It was a corner room, so the room is bright and nice. I would like to give the evaluation of the room 4. The indoor bath is called ”semi-open-air bath”, but the image of the window of the ordinary bathroom is large. ※ See photo OK, but hot water was tap water. There was an explanation at check-in, and it was explained that the hot water in the room is mixed with hot water from tap water because the quality of the spring is strong enough to deteriorate the piping of the building, but the feeling of the hot spring is zero. I don't smell it. If it's diluted so much, it's not a hot spring. There is a large communal bath (a bath for about 10 people) in 1F, which is fed directly from the source, so when you enter, the skin will melt instantly and it will be slimy. I felt it was a waste because the source was wonderful. Amenity is minimal. (Shampoo, conditioner, body soap, etc.) Disposable toothbrush, shaving, brush, body towel in the room. Towels are available in bathrobes. The problem is meal. I had two meals in the morning and evening. Both were buffet style, but it's a business hotel-class menu. The main dish was sukiyaki and a pot was brought in, and pork and a little 々 vegetables had tofu. It was very, very sweet sauce, which was too disappointing. I think the overall taste is less than home cooking. There are tempura and sashimi, and it feels like I was saved there ※ See photo as well. There was strawberries for the buffet dessert, but when I went to pick them up in the latter half of the meal, it almost disappeared. When I heard the addition of strawberries, I was disappointed that I was told that there was no more. 20 Time 〜 It seems that there is a reservation for the group, so I think I left it for that. Still, if it is worth the price, it is 5 evaluation, but 40000 yen per person per night. When you check in, you won't help me bring my luggage to your room. There are many more decent inns at the same price. Definitely, I will not use it anymore. This price is a consecutive holiday on weekends with this content

Although not on the hot spring street, the hotel's free shuttle bus is very convenient. The team was very noisy when the crowd arrived, and so was the breakfast. The breakfast is rich but the dishes are not bright. There will be a team at the entrance of the hotel to check in the flag of the country where the guest is located. I have not seen the five-star red flag, probably because there is no Chinese tour group.

This is the hotel taking 5 star from my own scoring so far in Japan. 1) Central location with free car park 2) Amazing Food with Kaiseki type traditional service(Dinner and breakfast). All the ingredients and the way that they prepare in nice atmosphere is amazing. I think it was the best food experience for me so far in Japan. 3) Indoor and open air onsen which is so clean. 4) Service quality and hospitality is top class. We wanted to give a surprise gift to our cousin. We asked their restaurant management to prepare a special closed ceramic bowl etc. They perfectly prepared more than our expectation. Moreover, they also gave their own small gift to our cousin. 5) Building also in traditional shape and well maintained. 6) Our room was traditional tatami style and it was big enough with bath tube and toilet. 7) First floor is the biggest souvenir shop in central kusatsu area.

GGuest UserIn front of the bus terminal, by the municipal parking lot, the first floor is Lawson, and there is a dining place next to it. It is about 5 minutes walk to Yubata. The rooms are on the second floor, so I do not recommend it to those who have a staircase. We stayed in a Western room suite. The room was large and overall brown and it was very fashionable. The tea confectionery was very delicious. The bath is put in except when cleaning. There is only 2 washrooms, but there are not many rooms, so if you don't match other guests, there is no problem. A key locker is in the dressing room. Free breakfast was very good! Not too much and not too little. The fee is also appropriate. When you tell me that you will be a city bra at check-out, you will receive a 2 hour service ticket for the city parking lot. Because there is no parking in the town, it is better to stop by car. When we returned to the car every luggage, it was around 10 o'clock, but there were already many cars waiting for full cars. It was very good, so I would like to stay again.

GGuest UserHotel room was spacious and it was good for us to experience sleeping on futons on the tatami mat. Staff was friendly and helped us book one of the two private onsens that they offer. The private onsen was much needed after all the traveling. The fee for the private onsen was 2200 yen for 50 minutes which was much more than enough time for me. All shower necessities were also provided in the room. I would recommend the hotel do a light renovation just to update some of their items. They actually use regular keys still and it's ok but with two people staying in the room, they only had one key for us to share. Overall spending a night here was nice.
