Portrait Milano - Lungarno Collection Reviews

The Portrait Milano is the most beautiful and luxurious hotel I've ever seen. It's housed in a former seminary built in 1565. From the moment the cab rolls through the elaborate front gate, you feel like you've arrived at a palace -- and you're treated like royalty. It was renovated by the Ferragamo Group and it's all about fashion, design, and the best of everything. The hotel is right in the middle of the fashion district. Dolce & Gabbana (which has a shop next door) had a party at the hotel while I was staying there. My junior suite was like a jewel box furnished with Frette linens, books, Bang & Olufsen speakers, a fully equipped bar, and an espresso machine. The bathroom was paneled in Carrara marble and provided a Dyson hairdryer and straightener along with Ferragamo beauty products. There was even a yoga mat. The turn-down service included a tray of herbal teas, an insulated carafe of hot water, and a timer to assure perfect steeping. The level of thoughtfulness and attention to detail is just stunning. The spa has a pool, sauna, steam bath, and longevity treatments such as a cryosuite. The restaurant, which overlooks a garden of fruit trees, has won awards for its breakfasts. Breakfasts include both an elaborate buffet and items cooked to order. My latte even had the hotel's monogram in the foam! All of the staff members were friendly and helpful. The hotel offered to add me on WhatsApp, which was super-useful for instant communications when I was away from the hotel. (All luxury hotels should do that!)
