Hotels in Jonker, Melaka

My stay was lovely. Before booking, I spent some time reading the reviews to get an idea of what to expect. I was genuinely concerned that I might encounter dirty sheets or towels, or a room that hadn't been cleaned properly. Thankfully, those concerns proved to be completely unfounded. The soundproofing was also something I was concerned about, so we were prepared for some noise. It was exactly as described in the reviews - the pitter-patter of footsteps from the room above, people walking past our room, and the merrymaking from groups in the foyer. The room did come equipped with complimentary earplugs, but unfortunately I'm not a fan of using them, so I simply waited for the noise to die down each night. The check-in staff were wonderful, and I'd especially like to thank Miss Izza (although I never had the opportunity to meet her in person). I had to momentarily withdraw from the trip at the last minute, and she kindly helped make the necessary arrangements for my partner to take over the booking instead. Her assistance made what could have been a stressful situation completely seamless. I also had some ice packs that needed to be kept frozen, and the hotel staff happily assisted. The room was comfortable, and I slept incredibly well—better than I do in my own bed at home. Our only gripe was the parking. The hotel's parking lot is a short walk away, which wasn't ideal in the heat. Also, the road leading to the hotel is one-way, so if you miss the entrance, you'll need to make roughly an 8½-minute loop (during off-peak hours) to get back. It's a minor inconvenience, but worth keeping in mind if you're driving. Jonker Street is only a 5–6 minute walk away, so if that's your primary destination, this hotel is perfectly located.

Had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The location is absolutely superb, right in front of the famous Jonker Street Market, which made it so easy for us to enjoy the street market during weekdays. The hotel amenities were great, they also have the water station provided for guests, which was very convenient. I would also like to personally thank Ms. Anjali for her kind assistance in helping me send back my belongings that I accidentally left at the hotel. Your help was truly appreciated. Overall, an amazing experience and I highly recommend this hotel. 10/10!

I had a very pleasant stay at Baba House Melaka and was genuinely impressed by the overall experience. I stayed on the ground floor and was pleasantly surprised that there was very little noise disturbance throughout my stay. The air-conditioning was excellent, which was especially appreciated in the hot weather, and the shower experience was fantastic — strong water pressure and very comfortable. The breakfast selection was enjoyable, and the location made it very convenient to call a Grab whenever needed. There were only two minor issues during my stay. I noticed a small area in the corner of the room that appeared to have some leftover sauce residue, possibly from a previous guest, and the bathroom sink drainage was slightly clogged. However, these were relatively minor compared to the overall positive experience. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere, and I would definitely consider staying here again when visiting Melaka. Thank you to the team for the hospitality!

Right outside is the Malacca River, and it's within walking distance to all the main attractions in the city, which is super convenient! The facilities are a bit old but very clean. Most of the staff are Indian, and their service was actually quite good.

I like this hotel, so near to Jonker street, good food, history and shopping. The staffs are friendly and very helpful.The hotel is like a museum, lots of historical items, Melacca history, displays and awesome experience of an peranakan house. I appreciate there is free parking and most unexpected... there are EV charging points. We had a wonderful experience, will be coming back again.

The hotel room facilities are quite nice, and overall the stay was fairly comfortable. However, I have two small suggestions: 1. The hot water dispenser in the downstairs doesn't work smoothly — it's hard to get hot water to come out. 2. There are mosquitoes in the downstairs room. I suggest the hotel can install screens on the windows to keep the mosquitoes out and improve the stay experience. Overall, the service is fine. I hope these small issues can be addressed, it would make my next stay more satisfying.

This hotel's location is fantastic, right next to Dutch Square with easy access to Jonker Street and other major attractions. However, because it's so close to Dutch Square and a road leading to places like A Famosa fort behind it, trishaws (decorated with lights and blasting music) operate late into the night. So, if you're a light sleeper, this might be a deal-breaker. The air conditioning is also quite noisy, but it gets hot if you turn it off. You can also hear noise from other rooms (conversations and other sounds), so overall, I wouldn't recommend it for anyone sensitive to noise. That being said, if these issues don't bother you, it's a great option. It's close to main attractions, has all the necessary amenities, is clean, and very affordable. It's perfect if you just need a place to sleep.

Nice simple room. It can be pretty dark as there are no exterior windows and being on the main corridor close to reception meant we were conscious of hearing other people and being heard. Parking isn't available there but there is a car park close by. The arrangement to send you there with a very young staff member in your car rather than give directions is a little strange.

This hotel is located next to Jonker Street in Melaka. It is within walking distance to the Red House, which is extremely convenient. There is a night market on weekends, making the location perfect for exploring. The hotel staff are very friendly, helpful and attentive, always ready to assist guests. I also appreciate the simple breakfast provided, which was sufficient for us. There are plenty of restaurants, local stalls, massage shops and eateries nearby. The only slight inconvenience is that the road is closed during the weekend night market, so we have to walk to the entrance of Jonker Street if we want to take a taxi. However, this does not bother us much because Melaka is great for city walking, and overall transportation is still quite convenient. Great location, warm service and highly recommended for family travelers!

One of the staff, William, was very helpful and even recommended good food spots around the area. He also kindly helped me find a spare charger when I realised I had forgotten to bring mine. It is best to stay on Level 1, as there is refillable alkaline filtered water available in both hot and cold options. The room I stayed in had an issue with the door, as it would not close properly when left to shut on its own. I could smell cigarette smoke even the air con is not centralized type.
