This hotel is a scenic spot in itself! The vintage Nanyang-style architecture, from the lobby to the hallways and the terrace, is incredibly well-designed in every corner. Every snapshot is a masterpiece. Our two families took over a hundred photos just within the hotel, no need to even go out looking for photo opportunities. The room also exceeded expectations – clean, tidy, and warmly decorated with comfortable bedding and excellent water pressure in the shower. We had a very pleasant stay. The location is absolutely unbeatable – within walking distance to Jonker Street. Turn right outside the door and you're just a few minutes away from Jonker Walk, making it incredibly convenient for night markets, delicious food, and night river cruises, saving you the hassle of taxiing back and forth. If you're coming to Malacca, I genuinely recommend staying here. You can enjoy the tranquil Nanyang old-world charm within the hotel, yet easily immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere of Jonker Street anytime. It offers superb value for money, and I'll definitely choose this place again next time!

This hotel's location is its best asset! Right at the entrance of Jonker Street, next to the stage, it was incredibly convenient for evening strolls and close to all the nearby attractions. The hotel itself has a very typical Chinese style and was quite tidy. The staff were friendly, and there was a deposit required. However, the smell of mothballs in the room was overpowering! It kept me awake all night, and all my clothes ended up smelling like them. I understand they might be trying to deter insects, which is common in Malaysia, but I'd suggest reducing the amount they use.

I had a very pleasant stay at Baba House Melaka and was genuinely impressed by the overall experience. I stayed on the ground floor and was pleasantly surprised that there was very little noise disturbance throughout my stay. The air-conditioning was excellent, which was especially appreciated in the hot weather, and the shower experience was fantastic — strong water pressure and very comfortable. The breakfast selection was enjoyable, and the location made it very convenient to call a Grab whenever needed. There were only two minor issues during my stay. I noticed a small area in the corner of the room that appeared to have some leftover sauce residue, possibly from a previous guest, and the bathroom sink drainage was slightly clogged. However, these were relatively minor compared to the overall positive experience. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere, and I would definitely consider staying here again when visiting Melaka. Thank you to the team for the hospitality!

This is my second time staying at this hotel. The bar staff even speak Mandarin, and there are more food options nearby, especially the breakfast noodle soup and iced coffee next door, which are really to my liking. I'll definitely stay here again next time.

Very convenient location, close to Jonker Street and surrounded by many famous Peranakan restaurants. Great that free parking is provided just about 20m down the street. We can just leave the car and walk everywhere. The hotel is a destination on its own, a must for Paranakan lovers. Rooms are basic but clean.

This is my second stay here. We booked a deluxe double room and got a ground-floor room right behind the front desk. The room wasn't huge, but it wasn't cramped either; there was still enough space to sit. There were plenty of outlets, the air conditioning worked well, and there was also a fan. The room was clean and smelled good, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. In the wardrobe, there were several hangers that seemed to have been left by previous guests. The bathroom provided soap and shampoo, and the water pressure was good. There was no drinking water in the room, but you could always get water from the dispenser behind the front desk. Tea and coffee were also available.

This hotel's location is fantastic, right next to Dutch Square with easy access to Jonker Street and other major attractions. However, because it's so close to Dutch Square and a road leading to places like A Famosa fort behind it, trishaws (decorated with lights and blasting music) operate late into the night. So, if you're a light sleeper, this might be a deal-breaker. The air conditioning is also quite noisy, but it gets hot if you turn it off. You can also hear noise from other rooms (conversations and other sounds), so overall, I wouldn't recommend it for anyone sensitive to noise. That being said, if these issues don't bother you, it's a great option. It's close to main attractions, has all the necessary amenities, is clean, and very affordable. It's perfect if you just need a place to sleep.

Hotel was well located in proximity of town. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful with requests. However, Hotel is in need of updates, such as, replace badly worn and dingy towels and bedsheets, several electrical and light outlets did not work in the room, no breakfast offered at the hotel, amenities listed for room were not there, such as a room safe, balcony.  Almost daily housekeeping, had to be contacted due to negligence and replacement of essentials for the room.  Hotel price doesn’t adhere to the amenities, and over priced.

When we first stepped into the hotel, there was a friendly welcome from the hotel staff. They were all very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, right in Jonker street but not too centralised with all the traffic noise especially during the weekend night market. A short distance walk to/ from coach pick-up/ dropoff point. Very convenient. We booked a family room for 3 friends and it was spacious even with a sofa and desk . The toilet had a bathtub where we could soak after a long day of walking. Hotel prices are reasonable. We will definitely be back again.

One of the staff, William, was very helpful and even recommended good food spots around the area. He also kindly helped me find a spare charger when I realised I had forgotten to bring mine. It is best to stay on Level 1, as there is refillable alkaline filtered water available in both hot and cold options. The room I stayed in had an issue with the door, as it would not close properly when left to shut on its own. I could smell cigarette smoke even the air con is not centralized type.

This is a charming boutique hotel, exuding a strong Malaccan Nanyang (Southeast Asian) style. The room decor is a delightful blend of European and Nanyang influences, with high-quality materials used throughout. The lobby and public areas feature beautiful and impressive marble, and even the bathroom fixtures in the rooms are top-notch. There's an elevator, which is a great plus, as many smaller hotels often prioritize aesthetics over convenience. The room isn't huge, but it has a balcony – though I didn't use it due to the heat. The air conditioning was excellent, and the shower water pressure was great. The towels weren't brand new, but I always bring my own anyway. The toiletries are L'Occitane, which is a nice touch. Breakfast is semi-buffet style; it has everything you need, and while not super extensive, it's quite good. Each room gets two complimentary coffees to take away daily. There was a male staff member, I think named NASIK, who was incredibly friendly and happy to chat with guests. He was very helpful with luggage and looked quite Chinese, leaving a great impression. Overall, this hotel is excellent. While not directly on the river, the location is still very convenient for exploring and experiencing the local culture. My only gripe is with Trip.com – I don't understand why the price was so high when I booked. I didn't keep an eye on it, and when I checked in, I realized booking on the same day would have been much cheaper. That's likely a platform issue, not the hotel's.

This is a great location for friends who want to visit Jonker Walk, Red House, Qingyun Pavilion, Ancient City Wall and other places. Very close to the scenic spot, within walking distance~ The house is an old-style building with a large space and two floors. Downstairs is the living room and dining room. There is a karaoke system. There is a very comfortable sofa in the living room. People who don’t want to sleep in the upstairs bedroom can sleep on the sofa. The width can be used as a bed~ The second floor is the bedroom, which is very spacious, with a double bed and an extra-large double bed. There is also a long sofa (which can also be used as a bed), and 2 single sofas~ The toilets are both upstairs and downstairs, which is quite convenient~ The management provides 4 extra-large towels, and there are also shampoo and shower gel in the bathroom. There are enough pillows. Although it is written that only 4 adults can stay, it is no problem for 6 adults to stay~

The room was very clean and well-equipped, with large windows offering a great view. It's located right above a large plaza, next to the Sultan's Palace, and very close to all the main attractions in Malacca. The breakfast was simple – bread, milk, and eggs, which you could heat up and spread with jam. It was decent enough. The eggs were soft-boiled 'onsen' style, which some people might not be used to.

The location is great, right at the entrance of Jonker Street, making it very convenient for taxis. From the outside, it looks a bit unassuming, but once you step through the hotel doors, it's full of Nanyang charm. The front desk staff spoke excellent Mandarin and even gave us a free room upgrade. The welcome drink was also delicious. However, there's no elevator, and the stairs are quite narrow, so lugging a big suitcase up to our second-floor room was a real struggle. The room was spacious, and the bed was huge. We could even see the Jonker Street stage from our window and watch Hunan TV! The only downside was that the shower water wasn't very hot. Considering it was during the bustling Chinese New Year, the price was really good value for money!

Overall, the experience was acceptable the ocation was convenient about a 10-15 minute ride to the city centre, which made getting around quite easy. However, there were several issues during our stay Cleanliness: We noticed some smallinsects on the floor. While it didn't significantly affect aur stay, it would be better if the rooms could be more thoroughly checked and cleaned. Customer Service: All communication had to be done online through WhatsApp, as there was no face-to-face front desk service. This was quite unconventional and sometimes made things less convenient when we needed assistance urgently. Room Equipment: One of the air conditioners in our room kept switching on and off by itself and wasn't functioning properly. Even more concerning, the hairdryer had a short circuit, produced a burning smell, and even sparked flames. This was a frightening experience, and although it was eventually replaced, waiting a full day for such a serious issue was very disappointing.

Good hotel. I had a spacious room with a window and a pleasant view from it. It was clean, with fresh linens and towels. The bed was comfortable. The air conditioning wasn't running at full power, but it cooled the room to a comfortable temperature. The shared shower was a bit inconvenient because there were no hooks to hang towels and clothes, or a shelf to place shower gel or soap. These are small details that are part of the basic necessities. Just like a mirror in the room, which was also missing. But as expected, there are water coolers with free, accessible water. The woman at the reception was very friendly and pleasant. They respond quickly to WhatsApp messages. Check-in was easy. They answer calls. I wish this hotel and its staff prosperity. They are doing a great job. I would gladly stay again, in the same room with flowers in the window.

Cleanliness and location is good, very near Jonker street. Cons are security wise needs improvement cos anyone can just walk in and especially in the early morning when we came down, the Indian guy was sleeping at the counter and I doubt he knows who went in and out. The room is very spacious but they should provide at leastt a small piece of soap for hand washing. When we arrived at the hotel at about 1pm, since the rooms are available, why can't they just let us check in instead of having to wait till 3pm ( we heard there were less than 10 rooms occupied that night). I was abit unlucky cos 1st room issued to us was a room under maintenance, 2nd room given to us only has a towel and 1 cup for 2 pax in the room and the toilet flushing system broke down in the middle of the night, phone out of order and I had to climb up and down the stairs numerous times to ask for things. No lifts in the hotel.
