Spa Hotels in Lagoa

A very good and well located villa, very pretty and pleasant stay, the only drawback I would say was the spa issue, neither the Turkish baths nor the small pool were working, if that had been working it would have been ideal, but equally, everything else was a luxury for us.

My husband and I are staying here for the last part of a two week vacation in Portugal. We had looked at reviews and pictures of this resort prior to arriving and were excited to stay here. Upon arrival we could see that the views were beautiful but the resort fell short in every other way. When we checked in our room was not yet ready so we stopped at the restaurant for lunch. While at lunch we had to track down staff to give us a seat, get any drinks, and then to order our lunch. Finally our food came and for a 5 star resort the food was less than subpar. We ordered 2 sodas, a personal pizza, and a cheeseburger and the bill was over $60 usd. The restrooms that were available to use for guests had toilet paper holders that were falling off the walls, soap dispensers that were rusted, and bathroom doors that did not lock. Finally once it was time to check into our room I was at first impressed with how the room looked but that quickly changed. Once in the room we found ants crawling around the bathroom and within 5 minutes we had killed over 10 ants alone. At this point we were frustrated and contacted our travel agent to help resolve this issue. Soon after my travel agent contacted the hotel the hotel then called me personally to say that they were made aware I was “complaining.” During that phone call they never offered anything to make our stay better. We decided to walk around the resort to get out of our room and walked down to the spa only to find all the lights off and the “hot tub” cold. After a long day of travel and frustration we decided we would give the restaurant another try. Unfortunately our experience was not any better with dinner. We both ordered risottos one mushroom and one scallop and prawn risotto. The mushroom risotto was almost all mushrooms that tasted like they were from a can and the scallop and prawn risotto had only two scallops and two prawns. We contacted our travel agent again to have them help with our problems with the resort and then decided to get some rest. The next day we spent the day by the pool where not once did any staff ask if we wanted a drink or to order lunch. When we found a staff member to order lunch they gave us a menu but never came back to take our order. Finally we got our food and after we finished it they never came to pick up the plate so after over an hour we took the plate to them. Since check in we have been working with our travel agent to get a refund for our stay and our travel agent has been met with nothing but pushback. Considering all of the issues we are having a refund is the least this resort could do. This resort has the potential to be a great place because of the scenery but they have a lot to improve on for it to be considered a 5 star resort.

It's awesome! The rooms are large, with sea views, close to the beach, the environment is beautiful and clean, the rooms are fully equipped with microwaves and utensils, and there are many tables and chairs. Breakfast was generous and parking was free around, but parking spaces near were not easy to find. A boat ride to Benagil Beach is also easy.

This is a beautiful refurbished hotel . Rooms great size , and we had a terrace balcony. Great bathroom. Breakfast is exceptional with plenty of choice and all very fresh .. choice of fruit great for me and my husband was happy with choice of eggs and omelettes Service was excellent at breakfast and some great staff ! The pool area was lovely but on the 3 days we spent there from 10.30 to 3.30 there were at least 8 sun beds with towels and bags on them that no one ever used .. please look at having staff remove this items after a certain amount of time as we would have loved to have used the soft comfy bed at the pool My husband used the gym but was disappointed that there was no water and nothing to clean or sanitise the gym equipment after use … some sanitising wipes would have been great . A manager actually came down to look as another guest complained but he looked around and left ! We would def return to this hotel as it’s in a fab location , breakfast excellent , beautiful views , bar area lovely . Peaceful and quiet and surrounding areas lovely with plenty of great restaurants

My Wife and I have just returned from a week's stay in the Mirachoro hotel, Carvoeiro. We were booked bed and breakfast. The hotel was excellent and a joy to be in. It was well situated, beautifully maintained and spotless. Our room was perfect, cleaned every day with fresh towels, lovely balcony view and well air conditioner. The Staff were so helpful and breakfast was an absolute treat! A variety of cereals and seeds, fresh fruit, cheese, yoghurts, cooked items, assortment of breads and more. Great pool, WiFi service, book library and more. What a fantastic week and The Mirachoro was just perfect!!! Thank you so much to the Management and Staff!! 👏👏❤️ Paul and Roisin

Absolutely stunning experience! We stayed for 3 nights and loved every minute of it. The hotel facilities are superb, beach and views and breathtaking. If you go on a left from the beach there is a wonderful easy hike with spectacular views, approximately 30 mins one way. Lots of even more stunning nature within 15-20 mins drive from the hotel. We will definitely be back! ＜3

Context - 12 night stay, family with 2 young teenagers in August We stayed in Villa 100, a 'luxury 2 bed townhouse' Accomodation: Great accomodation, some maintenance required, but not important. The accomodation was spacious, clean, beds were really comfortable, showers were great, loads of kitchen storage, sofas really comfortable, effective air com, kitchen with 4 burner hob, ovem, microwave, toaster, cofferr machine, washing machine and dryer. 5 star comfort, and nearly 5 star appearance (just a few maintenence piece needed ie chips in kitchen cupbaords, locks of bathrooms not aligned etc) Outside the accomodation we had 2 loungers, 4 would have been better, a table with 4 chairs with a few of a small pool. The pool near our villa was excellent. We generally were able to get this to ourselves at some points in the day, and there were always loungers available. This isn't the main pool. The main pool is a couple of minutes walk from the villa, and again excellent. it was quiet, but still an atmosphere, no problem getting loungers. On one day we had to hunt down an umbrella. There is also an indoor pool, that opens out to a terrace. Didn't think we'd use it, but it was really nice, and we used that as well. Useful when it's windy and the outdoor pool got chilly. The spa was good. My wife had a treatment that she said was very good. there was a steam room and sauna, both good, a small gym (didn't use). Jacuzzi was open, but didn't seem to work ie no bubbles! Outdoor pool bar was closed for refurb, but an indoor alternative was available. Restaurant was probably the biggest disappointment. We were self catering, used it once, and didn't return. The food was ok, but comparing it to the external restaurants we ate at, was nowhere near as good and significantly more expensive. Service in the restaurant was more comparable to a 3 star hotel. What was particularly disappointing was that 'portuguese' night was just a subset of the standard A la carte menu. Housekeeping were variable, ranging from spectacular to average! Some days they even unloaded our dishwasher which was a lovely touch. Other days they took away hand towels and didn't replace them. Resort did not have much to do for teenagers, other than making their own entertainment in the pool, but for us that was fine. Overall, a hotel is pleasant, lovely pool areas and accommodation is extremely comfortable but let down by the restaurant. Outside of the resort, in Carvoeiro we ate at 'Elliots' in the centre, and 'Recanto da Boavista' (2 minute walk from the hotel). Both of these restaurants were excellent, and catered well for my son who has a milk allergy. The other place we went to in Carvoeiro was Sandoskas. Again really good, but more cheap and cheerful. Whilst their bread contains milk, their baguettes don't, so hot dogs with baguette is a milk free option! The ice cream shop opposite also does a good range of vegan ice creams. We had an incredible time at this beautiful resort. We travelled as a family with two children. We enjoyed the spacious 2-bedroom villa with very comfy beds! We had self catering and enjoyed some meals at the restaurant (tip is to buy bottles of win instead of per glass!). We made use of the swimming pools which were especially great when the sunset came in. We also enjoyed the small gym and sauna/steam room and the padel tennis for free. The staff were very friendly, we like the eco friendly approach which allowed to reduce the cleaning service in return for some vouchers to spend at the bar/restaurant. We had a rental car and went to some amazing beaches that were all within close reach. Another recommendation are the water parks (slide and splash is worth a visit).
