We were supposed to stay 2 nights and ended up staying 4 nights which means this hotel is worth the visit. Friendly staff, super clean, very good location (a bit far from Tokyo Station if you are walking with suitcases but still close to transportation). Totally recommend. We were 3 and stayed in the beds on the floor and were super comfortable.

I was told that the room I reserved was fully booked and could not be used. Kyoto was still crowded with foreigners, and the prices were rising at the time, and I had already paid in advance. The foreign staff at the front desk tried their best to explain things in Japanese, but I have never been told that the room I reserved was not available. They found an alternative room from the few remaining rooms and I was able to stay there. I also received an email from TripAdvisor about a refund, but I was confused and delayed checking, and the refund was not actually given. Then, when I checked out, the front desk charged me the room fee, and I paid it, but I mistook it for a refund from TripAdvisor. In the end, I still haven't received a refund from TripAdvisor.
