Amazing

One may struggke to find the entrance since it is "hidden" between 2 buildings, but the inside buildings (both, one is exclusive for women and the other is mixed) is carefully kept. The lounge has big tables with sockets to charge your devices. Also, access to a pseudo-kitchen is provided, where you can prepare instant coffee, tea,... The staff will kindly break down to you everything you need to know about your room and provide you a code to enter your room.

Cozy, quiet hostel with modern design. Everything was organized and super clean. Friendly and kind staff. Free tea, coffee, miso soup. Definitely would come back.

The service staff are very handsome, regardless of gender. The room was a bit small but very comfortable. The disadvantage is that there is only one bathroom, so you have to queue up to wash up. You need a mattress to sleep on. If you are not used to hard beds, it is recommended not to come.

Thank you for your attentive care and attentive service, and for letting me experience your food takoyaki, which is great. I feel like home here with you, and I won’t be able to say goodbye to you when I leave the day after tomorrow. Today I want to express my gratitude and respect to you, and I will come again if I have the opportunity. thanks for your care.

It's in a very quiet location, and I'm glad that there is an old-fashioned public bath called Umeyu nearby. The hotel is clean and there are partitions between the beds so you can have your own space.

一整個大滿足,這個費用已經讓人感覺特別划算了,設計感拉滿,周邊餐飲也是很多,交通也是非常方便,就一整個性價比拉滿。

I found this kind of accommodation rather often in Japan recently. Compact and it reminds me of rubik cube somehow.  The wall is very thin and it is not soundproof. It is very noisy because of other guests. Usually people don't pay attention to the sound when you open/close the doors or lock/unlock the keys. Each time other guests come back or go out, you will have to hear the noise. Therefore, ear plugs are provided. :D Main building - Only female accepted  There is only 1 bathroom but it is big (Typical Japanese bathroom)  3 toilets Smaller Pantry Washing machine Relaxing area in front of reception Annex 3 bathrooms (One of them is huge) Kitchen  Public space Laundry machine Public space can't be used during cleaning time. Although Google Map shows the correct location, the entrance is very difficult to spot as the sign / logo is very small.T he door of the entrance looks like it is locked but just slide the door if it is inside of their business hours. It is not locked.  If you usually stay in a hostel, you should consider Shizuya hotel, you can keep your privacy even when you choose a dorm.  It is very modern and clean. I stayed in a single room but shower and toilet are all shared. All amenities are provided in the shower space but I found a hair dryer in the room I stayed in, too. Other than the hair dryer, there are so many things equipped in the room like a small fan, hangers, air cleaner (?). I actually didn't check what they were but I found some small electric devices in the closet.  Linen is the only amenity you can get. You can rent bath towel, face towel and toothbrush (all JPY100 each) You can't eat anything in the room. If you get something to eat, you have to eat it in the public space in the annex/main building. If it is annex, you can use the kitchen too.  Microwaves, coffee machines, plates, cups, instant miso soup ... they actually have everything. Public space in front of the reception (Main building) is just chilling out space but eating is allowed. Location is pretty good.  I walked from Kyoto JR station as I didn't have a suitcase with me. If you don't get lost, it should be about 10-15 minutes walking. Once you get to the hotel, it is still walking distance to Gion.  There are convenience stores nearby (Family Mart and 7-eleven) Reception isn't 24 hours. (0900 - 1900) If you have to check in outside of their business hours, you should let them know in advance.  They accept luggage before check in/after check out

Very Good

I was a little skeptical about this hostel but it turned out to be very nice. not easy to find, about 8 minutes from the station, it is in a small cobblestone street and is marked by a white sign but all in Japanese. The reception closes early, at 7pm, so it's not good if you arrive late. Our room was overall next to the reception, it had a beautiful common area, bathroom with many amenities, bathtub, shower, everything shared, but extremely clean. there was also a small kitchen, free drinking water, tea and coffee. The only flaw is the double room, extremely small, bed a little hard, but otherwise it's a really nice place.
