The Crown Palais New Hankyu Kochi Reviews

When we first arrived the front desk told us that we reserved a smoking room. In the trip.com booking it does not say so though. The front desk said all similar rooms for non-smoking were booked out. We went up to the room but it smelled so bad that we asked agin for a different room showing them the booking. According to the hotel the booking was not directly forward to them by trip.com but by a different service therefore it varied from our actual booking. They were nice enough to give us a different room which was non-smoking. Unfortunately the room still smelled strange - at least no smoke smell. Additionally there was almost no hot water coming out from the tap. In the photo the hot water was fully turned on. Another issue was the parking. The one night stay fee was 1000 Yen (not for 24h). We checked out at 11 a.m. but decided to eat lunch in town and leave the car at the hotel parking. We took out the car at 2 pm and had to pay an additional fee of 1200 yen.

The hotel parking fee is 1,500 yen from April. It is an old building, so the bathroom smelled, but there is a Korean-speaking staff member.

The hotel is a little old, but the location is great! I also thought the staff (front desk and parking staff) were very helpful. I stayed in a twin room, and the room was spacious and very satisfying! I'd like to stay here again next time I visit Kochi.

The hotel has excellent access to Kochi's tourist attractions, and I felt that the fact that Kochi Castle and Hirome Market are within walking distance was a big attraction. You can easily return to the hotel between sightseeing trips to rest or put your luggage away, and it was also very convenient to be able to return to the hotel immediately after enjoying a meal at Hirome Market in the evening.

Although I only stayed overnight, the room was spacious and comfortable. I stayed multiple nights, and there were restaurants nearby, so I was able to enjoy a typical Kochi meal. The parking attendant was friendly and I was a little happy to talk to me.

Clean and tidy, overall good. The only thing I am most dissatisfied with is that there is no bottled water in the room. There seem to be quite a few breakfast options, but most are Japanese, and there aren't many choices.

I have stayed here several times when I go back home. This time I stayed here the day before the Kochi Ryoma Marathon. Normally I don't have much trouble finding a place to stay, but this time it was the day before a big event, so I was lucky to be able to make a reservation. The hotel staff were, as always, very friendly, kind, and pleasant. I often make reservations with my family, so I'm glad they have Western-style rooms for families. This is one hotel I would like to stay at in the future.

The hotel is located near Kochi Castle, and it is quite convenient to walk to Hirito Market. If you drive, there is a parking space for an additional fee of 1,000 yen per day. The room equipment is a bit old, but it is larger than other hotel rooms, so it is quite comfortable to stay.

When I was looking for a place to stay in Kochi, I found a hotel that was easy to access and just what I was looking for at the price. When I checked in, the hotel kindly changed me to a larger room, so I was able to relax and enjoy my two nights here. I hope to use it again next time.

All the staff were kind and polite, and I had a comfortable stay. They answered my questions in an easy-to-understand way, which was very reassuring. Thank you very much.

Although the oldness is obvious, it is clean and comfortable to stay. Hirome Market is also nearby, so you won't have any trouble finding places to eat and drink. The only downside is that the convenience store is a little far away...
