Hotels in Tianfu International Airport/Jianyangnan Railway Station, Chengdu

Chose Holiday Inn because it was one of few hotels in Changdu to offer Non-Smoking Rooms. And the guaranteed 1600 check out time since our flight ETD was 1825. Alas the experience is less than stellar. First was the weird request to reserve the free airport pick up at least 2hrs in advance! Luckily, I asked our guide to do the reservation and he told us to meet the shuttle at T1 4F door 21 around 1825. The shuttle did arrive at 1828. The check in lady spoke good English, honoured our 1600 late checkout, advised and booked us to depart the hotel on their 1500 shuttle upon hearing our international flight was 1825. Room is pretty standard for 4 star Chinese hotels - with a dizzying array of switches and the usual modern looking shower with impractical features - no place to put your towels within easy reach while showering. It is not the worst though. Hotel is in a cluster of hotels around a 'food street' that was pretty sad state with little food and dining traffic. We opted to eat at the food stalls set up just across the road from the hotel. Hotel breakfast did have some western food but NO butter in the toast bread section! Due to it's distant location, we opted not to take a 2h public transport to Chengdu central but went to the central of the Jianyang satellite town that the hotel was in. Took 30min and 2 CNY pax. The other difficulty was trying to get back to hotel. The hotel doesn't show up in Amap or Didi app! Luckily, Amap does have the next door Ji Hotel which worked to guide us back.

The hotel is excellent. Despite being located inside the airport, it's remarkably quiet; you can barely hear any aircraft noise. They provided a complimentary fast-track security voucher, which almost caused us a major headache. When we reached the security checkpoint and inquired, we were directed to Lane 1. However, there was no staff managing or enforcing it, and everyone was using that lane. The voucher ended up being completely useless as we still had to queue, and then we were rushed to board our flight. We nearly missed it! In contrast, my previous stay at a hotel near Shenzhen Airport offered a dedicated first-class security lane, which was usually empty and genuinely effective. A heads-up for future guests: the self-service baggage drop-off machines at the hotel entrance are only operational from 5:00 AM to 10:30 PM. We tried to use them in the evening but found they were already closed.

The proximity to the airport is fantastic. You don't need to leave the airport. The amenities are what really shined. The free hot breakfast had great options, the gym was well-equipped, and the shower had amazing water pressure. The soundproofing is excellent—no airport noise at all. The staff was exceptionally kind and accommodating. Pool was big and clean with a sauna to relax the muscles. Very clean. A truly restful and convenient experience. Highly recommend!

Service: We went to the wrong airport and arrived at Tianfu in the middle of the night from Shuangliu. As soon as we got off the bus, a friendly young man came to help us with our belongings. I heard he had served in the military in Beijing, and the service was excellent. Since we had two children with us, he helped us carry a lot of things. Environment: While the hotel isn't particularly fancy, it was clean and had parking. Cleanliness: We booked a family room, which was very clean and tidy. There were plenty of toys for the children, which the children loved. The bed was designed in the style of a house, and the older and younger siblings fought over it. They also received family toys as gifts upon check-in, which the children loved. Facilities: The facilities were also thoughtful and adequate, with children's shoes and toiletries provided. There was also a morning airport drop-off service. It was very close, arriving in just over ten minutes. While waiting at the gate for everyone to arrive, I offered the driver a cigarette, but he said smoking was prohibited. I guess this was a hotel rule for the shuttle driver, as a way to protect non-smokers and avoid the smell of cigarettes in the car. The service was excellent.

I've stayed at Tianfu International Hotel several times now, primarily because of its convenient location just a 15-minute drive from the airport. The hotel also provides a dedicated shuttle bus service to and from the airport. The lobby is very grand and opulent. The front desk staff were highly professional and welcoming, even personally escorting me to my room door. The hotel boasts extensive grounds, featuring a massive courtyard. Naturally, the environment is superb, and it caters to all your dining and shopping needs. The rooms are incredibly spacious and comfortable. The bathrooms feature a separate wet and dry area, the bedding is plush, and the air conditioning keeps the room pleasantly cool. The breakfast absolutely lives up to five-star standards. I will certainly continue to choose Tianfu International Hotel for all my future trips to Chengdu.

Highlights first: A huge shout-out to Front Desk Manager Sky Wang! He displayed utmost professionalism, proactively upgrading me to a deluxe room (which was new, quiet, and had a thoughtfully stocked minibar). As I checked in close to midnight and most restaurant staff had finished their shifts, he went above and beyond to get me ice. His genuine dedication and warm service were truly impressive. A serious, undeniable flaw, however: On the second day morning shift, an older female front desk staff member (who didn't introduce herself) exhibited an extremely poor attitude. This completely ruined my overall stay. Such service is utterly unacceptable for any five-star hotel!

The Comfort Travel Hotel under Accor is in a good location, not far from TOD, so it is very convenient to order takeout, especially Starbucks and other complex restaurants. There is also a special library in the east next to it, which is within walking distance. The hotel decoration is very distinctive, featuring pandas and coffee. Parking is convenient and you can get to the lobby as soon as you get off the car. We chose a loft room. House keeping helped us to give us extra quilts and pillows. With simple modifications, the sofa on the first floor can be converted into a big bed for the children, and the two adults can sleep on the second floor with peace of mind. Breakfast is definitely a highlight, 29.9 yuan for one more person. I recommend everyone to try the tan and wonton below, which is completely at the level of a store. Overall, it is a hotel worth staying in.

My stay this time was absolutely delightful and heartwarming! The complimentary airport transfer service provided by the hotel was incredibly thoughtful. From the moment I landed until I reached the hotel, the entire process was seamless, and I didn't have to worry about transportation at all. I especially want to commend the lady who handled my transfer. She was incredibly warm and friendly, helping me with my luggage like family and patiently answering all my questions. Her service was so attentive and detailed; she even offered helpful reminders and advice along the way, making me feel such a sense of warmth and welcome as soon as I arrived in an unfamiliar city. I absolutely have to give a five-star rating! I'll definitely choose this place again for my next visit!

The hotel I booked for a layover at Chengdu Tianfu Airport is very good, very comfortable, and very quiet. The front desk service is also very good. There are many snacks around. It is especially suitable for passengers in transit. I will stay here again for a layover.

I stayed here for a layover overnight, but access to things made it a challenge. The complex is still too new. There’s a few hotels there. I also feel it was poorly lit. Taxi access was a challenge. I fell in the dark area outside. The gift shop was nice down the street. Food delivery required going down the street by the shuttle, so bringing bags was not easy. I tried three times for a Didi. The landscape is nice, but I have no idea why that airport area is not better developed or why it is so dark around there.
