Hotels in Chunxi Road Commercial Area, Chengdu

This is our second stay within a week (after 2 nights at Jiuzhaigou). When we returned, it’s comforting to be greeted warmly by Xiao Zhang at the reception again (he checked us in one our first stay). Although the staff are on shifts and we met different people each day, everyone showed the same level of friendliness and helpfulness. We enjoyed a free upgrade again and loved the room with modern decor, and opportunity to wash our clothes before heading out again. We’re convinced that Sungold is the perfect base to explore Chengdu and other attractions in Sichuan. We’re off to Dujiangyan and Qingchen, and will be back here again for another 2 nights!

This stay exceeded my expectations; overall, I was very satisfied. The hotel's location is super convenient, making it easy to get around by taxi, eat, and shop. The room was clean and tidy, with excellent hygiene, and the bedding was soft and comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The bathroom had a wet and dry separation, stable hot water supply, and complete toiletries. The staff were warm, polite, and efficient with check-in and check-out, and they responded promptly to any issues. The environment was quiet and not noisy, with good soundproofing, so I wasn't disturbed by outside noise. The facilities were well-maintained, and the lights and air conditioning worked smoothly. The breakfast had a rich variety of options, and the taste was great. The value for money is excellent, making it suitable for both business trips and short getaways. It was a comfortable stay, and I will definitely prioritize this hotel next time I'm in the area. I also recommend it to anyone who needs a good place to stay.

Really enjoyed our stay in the top floor suite with an amazing view overlooking Taikoo Li and the skyline. The location is perfect for a short visit, with Taikoo Li just outside, making it very easy to walk around. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive, responding to our requests and questions instantly, they even helped us fill up the bathtub/pool while we were out so it was ready upon our return! Also loved the projector screen to watch tv. Many amenities like snacks, towels, robes, slippers were also provided. Overall, I highly recommend and would definitely return!

This was our third stay on this trip, and we finally managed to book the Fun Family Room. It's significantly larger than the Starlight Family Room we stayed in before, with bunk beds that the kids were really looking forward to, and a small tent perfect for younger children. The overall layout is well-designed, clean, and tidy, with complete amenities. The living experience was excellent! I won't go into detail about the hotel's excellent location, as it's already well-known.

The location is absolutely fantastic! It's just a 5-minute walk to Chunxi Road, with a convenient shortcut through the shopping mall. The hotel entrance is quite unassuming, even a bit plain, but once you're inside, it's a pleasant surprise. It's an apartment-style hotel, and for the price, it's an incredible deal. The room was clean and odor-free, and the toilet was even smart. Honestly, everything was great. Highly recommend!

The hotelroom itself was simple, it had everything you needed but not more than that. The location itself was very convenient within the city centre; near the metro stations and touristic hotspots such as chunxi road, tianfu square etc. This made it easy to sightsee around Chengdu (such as people’s park, culture park, Wuhou shrine etc. There is so much to do in Chengdu!) The hotel itself was a bit difficult to find, note that when you enter the busy small road with all the shops (Shangyechang Street), you can access the hotel from a small side road to the left at approximately halfway the street(if you come from chunxi road direction).

The triple room had very small windows, which made it feel quite depressing. The hotel's decor, with its dark colors, felt rather dull. Personally, I don't care for this kind of design; I prefer something brighter. The young women at check-in and check-out were excellent – very diligent and responsible. At check-in, she made three room cards for me, and also provided laundry coupons, afternoon tea vouchers, and handicraft vouchers, explaining their use in great detail. At check-out, another young woman was equally thorough and even asked if I had a car. If she hadn't asked, I would have forgotten to report the car number. I'm very satisfied with the work of these two young ladies at the front desk. On the morning of August 20th, around 8 AM, during breakfast, the young man at the entrance was also doing a good job. However, a woman in uniform was dining in a corner of the restaurant. It was clear she was staff because she was familiar with and joking around with the cleaning ladies and other staff members. Why was she eating where guests were dining? This indicates lax management. After she finished her breakfast, this woman strolled around the restaurant, didn't greet guests, and had an arrogant expression. I really don't understand her attitude towards her work. It gives the impression of loose management, yet the front desk staff are meticulous and serious. The contrast is stark. Is this woman a relative of the owner?

The hotel is located in Chunxi Road, about a seven or eight-minute walk from the subway station. The pedestrian street, IFS, and Taikoo Li are all nearby, making it super convenient for shopping and dining. It's also easy to catch a taxi downstairs. We asked for a quiet room, and the front desk staff even upgraded our room for free. Their service was excellent, and the room was clean and well soundproofed.

The location is fantastic, surrounded by amazing food options – you can't go wrong no matter what you pick. We had heavy rain during our stay, so our planned subway trips turned into taxi rides, but the hotel isn't too far from the subway station, about 600 meters. The only disappointing experience, which wasn't the hotel's fault, was discovering that Didi drivers in Chengdu will temporarily increase prices and rip off customers during heavy rain. Just a heads-up for anyone traveling to Chengdu and planning to use Didi.

The room was clean and very spacious, especially considering the price. It is definitely very affordable and offers great value for money. The hotel is also within walking distance of Chunxi Road Metro Station, around 600 metres away, which makes it very convenient for getting around Chengdu. They also provided us with free bottled water — around 8 bottles in total during our 2-night stay, which was a nice touch. The receptionist, Xiaoyan, was very nice, friendly, and helpful. She was always willing to assist us and patiently answered all our questions. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and were very satisfied with the service.
