Service was great. Our ocean view room was lovely. The room itself was clean but definitely could tell wear and tear in spots but that wasn’t a bother to us. Food was less than to be desired. Every meal left me wanting more so that was disappointing. The beach front was great as well as all the pools and lazy river. We had some issues in our group with charges to rooms that shouldn’t have been there. They all eventually got sorted out but it took a lot of work to make things right. I don’t think I would recommend this resort to family and friends. I would look for a different resort but the island itself was good.

We enjoyed our stay at the resort, the rooms were nice however there was some dust in the room. There are many restaurants to choose from and the food was good. The shows were fine. I’ll come back again.

The atmosphere was amazing! The staff very friendly. Our our excursion with ex cart cnotes with five different activities we booked with the hotel so amazing you would not be disappointed. It was a whole day adventure we paid for the pictures. We will cherished forever. Our first time to all exclusive the Japanese hibachi by far our favorite place to eat here we ate there three nights be sure you get the star package when you book you get a butler who helps you with everything. Any questions you have or if you simply just want him to bring you amazing we had Trinidad and Tona as our butlers they are the best. room service breakfast could not be any better than it was. It was perfect. If you want the extra bacon asked for it. If you want extra eggs Get it anything you want they make it just as you request. The beds are very comfortable & room service will change the sheets every day and clean your room. If you don’t want it changed for a day you can put a do not disturb on your door, the safe was amazing to have in the room. It’s bolted down so can you put your own code in there? this is just for your security and peace of mind. Be sure to take plenty of sunscreen and your blue ice for sunburn relief. Because if you have to get acid reflex and medicine or those sunscreens and ice are $30 a bottle so that’s a little tip for you. be sure you bring all of that and plenty of it so you don’t have to buy it in the resort that the medicine was a little bit higher than in the United States However we didn’t bring any acid reflux medicine and then my daughter needed some ibuprofen to go with her sunburn so we had to buy that too. It was a little overpriced, however not as bad as the sunscreens items.also download the Uber app we took a taxi to the mall it was $70 there and $70 back just so you know that Isla mall is like Beverly Hills very expensive so we just went there and turned around and came back for $140 If I had the Uber app and would’ve used that would’ve been like $30 round-trip these are things that I ran into that next time I will not forget to do don’t hell a taxi or call any Ubers other than in the Uber app. Best time to plan for Cancun, is probably May if you do early June just book your stay at the north coast, there is way less Sargasm. Other than those little tips that I gave you the place is amazing. It’s beautiful has all the purple lights. They have entertainment every night at 9 o’clock some starts a little bit earlier like they’ll have singers or some people that dance on this stage and interact with you and show you how to do some of the dances so much fun. the lobby is amazing. Some people hang out there at night before their dinner reservations. Only star class can make dinner reservations so that’s also a perk of star class. A lot of people don’t know that I saw some people trying to get into a restaurant, but they were already booked by reservations,so star class is very important. Also, they have an adult scene pool on t

Dorian and Octavio were top notch. Help us with planning everything from daily activities for the kids, diners, spa to outings off the resort. Our rooms was bananas 21201 if we come back to this property we would 100% request this room but would not come without doing a directors suite that's for sure. If your coming with 1 or 2 kids this should be a no brainer of an upgrade. I would HIGHLY suggest a trip to Isla Majures as well. Dorian guided us as we wanted to go about this on our own so told us where to go and what companies to use for the fairy etc.
Response from Property: Dear V1379WMbrettj, Thank you so much for your enthusiastic review! We're thrilled to hear that Dorian and Octavio made such a positive impact on your stay — it sounds like they went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfectly planned for your family. We're also glad you loved your room (21201 sounds like a winner!) and that the Director’s Suite upgrade made a big difference. Your tips for future guests, especially about visiting Isla Mujeres, are much appreciated — and we’re happy Dorian could help make that adventure smooth and memorable. We can’t wait to welcome you back for another unforgettable stay! Warm regards, General Manager – Planet Hollywood Cancun, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort

We recently returned from a 7-night stay at Planet Hollywood Cancun, and I must say we were incredibly disappointed with the overall experience. This resort falls well short of its advertised 5-star rating and does not deliver the modern luxury one would expect at this level. To begin with, the kids’ water park area is rusting extensively, which not only looks neglected but also raises serious safety concerns. Rust on play equipment presents a risk of injury and potential infection, not something any parent wants to worry about while on holiday. In addition to this it’s peaking summer time and not all the water features in the splash area or lazy river were working. The dining experience was equally frustrating. To access most restaurants, you’re required to use an app-based booking system. Unfortunately, the app didn’t work throughout the majority of our stay. I spoke to four different staff members, all of whom told me it was simply down to a lack of availability. It wasn’t until day five of our seven-day holiday that a more helpful staff member finally explained that the app doesn’t function as one might expect and personally assisted me with booking meals. By that point, most of the trip was already compromised. Cleanliness and maintenance across the resort are noticeably poor. Restaurant chairs often had dried food stuck to them, clearly not being wiped down properly between guests. m honestly so disappointed in the food quality — this is nowhere near 5-star dining. The meals were bland, poorly presented, and completely lacking in flavour. I ordered a korma expecting a rich, mild, creamy, taste with subtle nutty and aromatic flavor, what arrived looked and tasted absolutely awful. It was watery, had no depth of flavour, and felt like a cheap attempt at something that should be a signature dish. For a resort that claims to offer a luxury experience, the food standard was a complete letdown. The same goes for the sunbeds, which showed visible mildew buildup, likely from being constantly damp and not properly cleaned or aired out. Our room was also damp, to the point where our bed felt moist and even the clothes in our suitcase developed an unpleasant smell. The furniture was chipped, dated, and poorly maintained, cupboards didn’t close properly, and the overall décor felt tired and in desperate need of refurbishment. The buildings around the resort are also showing wear, with peeling paint and general neglect visible throughout. A particularly upsetting incident was the theft of my wife’s sunglasses, which were personalised and easily identifiable. We actually spotted the individual wearing them, but when we raised it with staff, the situation was dismissed and brushed off, with the individuals conversing in Spanish leaving us completely in the dark and feeling unsupported. In conclusion, this resort is not a 5-star establishment by any means. At best, it offers a 4-star experience, and even that is generous based on our stay. It lacks

Kevin was very nice at the baseball cage. He was patient, enthousiasm and made sure we were in security and in position before he let the ball goes. Thank you Kevin! Nice setup with soft ball. Even the kids were not scary to play. Can’t wait to play again

Lucero at Infopoint (near the lobby) was super helpful with dinner reservations and cabana reservations. She was really pleasant and very patient with all of my requests. The resort was pretty crowded Easter week which made dinner reservations on the app impossible. Lucero was able to help us despite the lack of reservations times. Thanks to her positive can do attitude, she made our stay much more pleasant.

Just finished a trip to the Planet Hollywood. We spent a couple of nights on the Adult Side and the rest on the normal side. Normally not an all inclusive person, but in Cancun I think that’s the only option. I would highly recommend going the Star Class Route. This gets you access to the Star Class pool and some other dining options. Huge shout out to Vincente who took care of us by the pool. His service was AMAZING! The only negative I would mention was there aren’t many pool chairs. Having to get up at 5:30am on vacation to go reserve a chair is a bit ridiculous! Great spot for families or adults only!
Response from Property: Dear bct2014, Welcome once again to Planet Hollywood Cancun! We are very happy that your vacation was found at our Phabulous resort in this second chapter. It was a pleasure to have you as our guest and we hope to welcome you again for your next vacation. IF U EVER SEE TRANSPORTATION INCLUDED ON YOUR RESERVATION DONT BELIEVE IT BECAUSE ONCE YOU TRY TO BOOK WITH THE TRANSPORTATION SERVICE THAT PLANET HOLLYWOOD SAYS IS THERE PROVIDER THEY WILL TELL U SOMETHING DIFFERENT I ENDED UP PAYING OUT OF POCKET FOR SOMETHING THAT WAS ADVERTISED AS INCLUDED! WORST RESORT STAY IVE EVER ENCOUNTERED! We had a fantastic vacation at PH. We had a group of 19 friends/family ages 4 months to 80 years old. The rooms were large and spacious - we got a crib and dehumidifier without issue and that made our stay comfortable. The swim outs with a backyard are awesome. Food overall was good, staff was very helpful, and the kids really enjoyed the Dino splash park, pools, lazy river, movie cinema, and beach. Shout out to Clarissa at the gym who led boot camp classes in the morning. Loved the gym facilities, pickle ball courts, and hotel activities all day. Really appreciated the attentive staff, from waiters at the buffet to kids club ladies and bar servers. Three areas to improve - (1) food: line ups at breakfast buffet eg crepe station was annoying and disorganization with lunch pizzas at the Italian station; (2) dinner reservations can be hard to get and inflexible if 10 mins late, as they save tables for star class and hotel members; and (3) I heard some staff are paid based on reviews, which I don’t love. Pls treat your staff right and pay them well. Overall a great hotel, clean, well maintained, with lots to do, and we hope to return in the future.

This is a great family resort. So many things for my young kids (8 and 4) to do. The water park was great, the beach has amazing white soft sand. The superhero parties, the shows at night, the staff especially Sergio at the Sol Cal buffet. The flowrider and the staff there were also amazing, they way they helped, taught my kids. The one thing that left a little be desired was the room. I have also been to PH in Costa Rica and the rooms there were amazing, the room in Cancún, was dated, run down slightly and advertised as 2 queen beds but they are only doubles. The food was great and we had no issues booking into a la carte restaurants using the app.

Food: wish they had chicken nuggets or chicken strips. Music: please ply more Latin music. Pool chairs: need more chairs and need to fix the ones that are about to rip through. You can feel the metal bar under your back. Kids club: great staff! Loved that they had kids activities at almost every evening party. Special thank you to Teresita, Alis, Itzel, Wendy, Cynthia, Bere, and Fatima. You made my kids happy and gave me and my wife a break. Restaurants: decent but not great. The only shining star was Carlos at Sushi restaurant. He was amazing! Bars: friendly but busy. Had to wait at times but drinks were good. Not too strong but not too weak. We had a great time. We would come back if some of the finer things were fixed.

We just returned from a stay at Planet Hollywood Cancun, and I can confidently say this was one of the most disappointing resort experiences we've ever had. Having just stayed at an Oberstar hotel beforehand, the difference in quality was night and day — and not in Planet Hollywood’s favor. The hotel was dirty from the moment we arrived. Common areas looked unkept, and the cleanliness of the room left much to be desired. The elevators were constantly out of service, leaving guests (including families with small kids and elderly travelers) to climb multiple flights of stairs. Completely unacceptable for a resort that claims to be five stars. The pools were also dirty — murky water, trash left around, and just an overall feeling that maintenance and upkeep were not a priority. The water in the shower was brown and smelled horrible. That alone was enough to make us question how safe the water systems are at this place. As for the "resort credit" they promote — it's nothing more than a coupon book filled with restrictive and underwhelming offers. Don’t expect to get any real value out of it. The only positive aspect of the stay was the staff. They were kind, hardworking, and tried their best despite the poor conditions of the facility. They deserve better. Planet Hollywood Cancun is absolutely not a five-star resort. If you’re looking for a true luxury experience, skip this place entirely. There are far better options in the area.
