"Ho Chi Minh Luxury Apartment
I spent three days deliberating and passed up many apartments with better and newer decor, ultimately choosing this landmark apartment despite its higher price.
Before checking in, I repeatedly confirmed with the host that the room type *must* match the pictures and that they should not assign an inferior room. However, because I arrived late at night, I was given a room on the 30th floor – which was even worse than other, cheaper 'superior' rooms in the same building! The bed was sagging, the facilities were outdated, and the room and entire apartment reeked of smoke! (I had specifically requested a non-smoking room or one with no strong smoke smell when booking). In fact, the overall experience was barely better than a cheap rental! How can this be called a luxury apartment?! Especially since the price was no cheaper than other luxury apartments.
It took strong insistence for them to agree to change rooms the next day! I was moved to a room on the 43rd floor, where the facilities were slightly better maintained than the first one. However, the appliances and amenities were still subpar; pots, pans, and all appliances had noticeable stains! Even more terrifying, the room, living room, bathroom, and kitchen were crawling with rove beetles (insects whose fluid can cause severe skin irritation/burns)! I was beyond words. All I could do was kill the bugs in the room and dreadfully endure the final night with trepidation and tears.
Don't misrepresent room types and prices just because it's a landmark building. It's not about the cost; the experience was genuinely terrible!"
