"I came to this hotel on my own. I wish I’d brought my partner with me. It’s a very unusual lodging place. Living in a big wooden box for three nights was a bit peculiar. I did miss having a bedroom window, but the view from the top floor room where the excellent breakfast was served was nice. A sauna and outdoor pools were free (I didn’t try them, but they looked fun), as was an extra bed for any couple to try (some did) that had picture windows so anyone could watch from the lobby or lounge. I would return, if I ever bring my spouse to Porto."

"Very friendly and kind service: these are people who are willing to go the distance to ensure you have a nice stay. We asked for an end of corridor room and was given one. Breakfast is ample and will satisfy most hungers. I only suggest that they rotate hot dishes for example so guests who stay several nights may enjoy a little variety. The management should be proud of what they have been able to achieve in the six months since they opened in July 2025."

"The room is clean, breakfast don’t have much options but is still acceptable, location is a bit far from the city center and the river side but you can go by bus to the center, the station is just in front of the hotel entrance and cost you 2.5 Euro, otherwise you can grab a uber, is also very convenient and more cheaper if you are travelling with 3-4 persons. The only thing that admired me why a lot of people choose this hotel is because they have a very big outdoor parking and is completely free of charge. I was driving a car and in Porto if you want to find a hotel with car parks is a bit difficult, if have, they need to get paid and the public car parks inside the city are extremely expensive. I did some research and this is the only hotel with the biggest car park in the area and completely free of charge, so if you are driving this hotel is the best choice. Also the staff (trainee) who helped me to do the check in is very nice 👍🏻"

"The room description stated there was parking, but in fact there isn't, and there's nowhere near the hotel. They suggest parking in the paid parking lot at the Ibis hotel—about a 10-minute walk away, and not very convenient with suitcases. The hotel (hostel) has a kitchen and utensils for heating and preparing food. There's a very large staircase at the hotel entrance."

"Everything was good there accept cleanliness when i checked in the room everthibg was good but when i turned off the light there was ant on my bes and it was really difficult for me to sleep and when i woke up i see the floor it was full of ants and when i opened the door there was a vase and there were alot of ants it was a worst experience for me they have to take care of these things"

"The room was fine, all white. When I booked, a 400 RMB security deposit was charged to my credit card. The booking platform said the hotel would refund it. When I asked the hotel staff, they said they didn't know and hadn't collected it offline, so I didn't know if it would be refunded. Also, after checking out that morning, I discovered my wallet was missing and immediately went back to look for it. Knowing it was highly unlikely to be found, I just wanted to take a look, giving up hope. Upon arrival, two staff members said the room had been thoroughly disturbed and nothing was left. I asked if I could go in and see if I had dropped anything under the bed, but they wouldn't let me. Then they said a new guest had checked in. I knocked on the door and asked if I could take a look, but the two staff members also said no. One of the women, seeing my concern, offered me a glass of water, which I appreciated, but I still don't understand why they didn't allow me to."

"A very strange hotel. On the plus side, there's air conditioning, clean linens, and toiletries. A pleasant woman from Colombia at the front desk. On the minus side, there's no elevator, so if you're carrying heavy bags, you'll have to go up as you please. We had room 9, and the bathroom and the room are the same thing. It feels like you're sleeping in the bathroom. I was with my husband, who obviously knows me, but I still felt uncomfortable going to the bathroom. There are mirrors all around, and even if you don't want anyone to see you, excuse the expression, pooping, they'll still see you. So, couples on a romantic trip shouldn't be here, only seasoned married couples. The leatherette bed wasn't exactly fresh and had holes in it. Early check-in wasn't allowed."

EEmilyI recently spent four nights at Aparthotel Oporto Sol, and while my stay was overall okay, it came with a few drawbacks. First, the location is a bit outside the main area of Porto, which required some extra effort to get into the heart of the city. While the surroundings were quiet and less crowded, I did find myself relying on public transport or taxis more than I would have liked. One of the main issues was the absence of air conditioning in the bedroom. During my stay, the temperatures were warm, and it made things uncomfortable at night. Opening the windows was not an option due to the presence of mosquitoes outside, which meant I struggled to find a comfortable sleeping temperature. On the positive side, the apartment itself was spacious and generally clean. The amenities were adequate for my needs, and the staff was friendly and helpful, albeit a few blocks over. I appreciated the kitchenette, which allowed me to prepare some of my own meals during my stay. In summary, while my stay at Aparthotel Oporto Sol had its merits, the lack of air conditioning and its location outside the main area impacted my overall experience. If you're sensitive to heat or prefer to be in the city center, you may want to consider other options. Otherwise, it serves as a decent accommodation for those seeking a quieter spot.
