"The location is superb! Walking distance can reach beryls chocolate mansion, cookiecrumbs and etc. 2 o clock direction from lobby got 24h mart, few eatery right Infront hotel. Most of the famous local delight also can reach by foot! The downside of the hotel just not sound proofing，light sleeper might need to request corner room. But highly recommend from us and will stay again next time!!!"

"HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Booked via Trip for 1 room for 1 night (19 to 20 June 2025). Breathtaking view of city and partial sea view from our room. 1st time stayed with CITITEL PENANG. Super nice hotel. Great hotel. Everytging was nice. Great location, great service, friendly staff. Good value for the money. Check in was smooth and friendly service. I was very impressed with the Ms USEZANA & Ms SUZANNA, professionalism. Such professionalism and services from both ladies definitely need to be highlighted. They are was such an amazing welcoming and so kind, it made my stay very enjoyable and leading us to the foc drinks. Totally I truly appreciate your kindness. Next, breakfast had a wide spread and i loved the DIY coffee machine. Often crowded but seats were readily available. Thank you Breakfast also was delicious. Water dispenser was just outside our room. It's fantastic and eco friendly. Not forgetting housekeeping who also did a fantastic job. Overall, highly recommended to those planning a holiday in Georgetown, Penang. Thank you for the warm hospitality given to us during our stay. Everything was more than perfect! On my next stays, I will definitely check into CITITEL PENANG Hotel again😍"

"Location is easily accessible, with close proximity to food/services/attractions. Nearby shopping mall have plenty of different food choices, a convenient stall less than 100m away to the right of the hotel when you come out. For local food fare, plenty of choices around. Kedai Kopi Bee Hong serve a good kaya and butter toast for breakfast. If you are lazy, the hotel breakfast buffet is also a top choice for an affordable price(add on RM36) from 6-10.30am. Hotel have tidbits like popcorn and complimentary self serve drinks(ice lemon detox water and assam water) at the side for you to quench your thirst and have some small bites while waiting for check-in. Recommended for budget of around SGD80-100 range per night."

"Review of Sunway Hotel, George Town I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Sunway Hotel in George Town, and I was thoroughly impressed with its prime location, making it incredibly convenient to explore the surrounding attractions. Guests consistently rave about its convenience for eating, shopping, and sightseeing   . 🛏 Room Size: Compact Yet Clean The rooms here are undeniably small—some describe them as “tiny” or “narrow”—but they tend to be clean, modern, and functional, especially ideal for short stays or solo travellers    . That said, if you’re planning a long stay or value spaciousness, you might feel a bit cramped. 🚗 Complimentary Parking A rare plus in central Penang—parking is free for hotel guests. The Cititel Express shares a secure multi-story car park with St. Giles Wembley, and parking comes with no charge for Cititel Express guests  . "We booked two rooms and had an outstanding experience at this hotel. Although both rooms were the same type (21m²), Room 1615 felt more spacious than Room 1609. The location is excellent, just a short walk to the night street food market on Lebuh Presgrave, 12 minutes to Cecil Market, and 8 minutes to the 24-hour McDonald's at Birch House. There’s also a hidden bar, Good Friend Club, less than 100 meters from the hotel entrance, and another one, Magazine 63, about 10 minutes away, across from 1st Avenue Mall. Just 2 minutes away is GAMA Supermarket, which includes a small pharmacy and bakery—very convenient for anything you need. 5 min away from Komtar also. Opposite hotel is the Hin Bus Depot. The rooms were clean and the air conditioning worked well. However, the bathroom exhaust fan was quite loud (though manageable if turned off after use), and the room lighting was a bit dim—adding a floor or table lamp would be helpful. The water heater took about 3 minutes to produce hot water, which could be improved to reduce water waste. Soundproofing wasn’t the best, as I could hear the neighboring shower, but it wasn’t a major issue for me. The hotel has a gym and swimming pool @ roof top level-25, though we didn’t have time to use them. The facilities well-maintained. Overall, we had a great stay. The staff and security were friendly and welcoming. Keep up the great work and continue maintaining the cleanliness and service standards! This hotel tends to get fully booked quickly. If you want to book this Hotel, please plan and book early Will stay again when I go Penang next time."

"The room is quite small, but it offers a lovely view. It's very clean, although we didn’t have enough space to store all our shopping bags. :) Mr Putasnen Nagadaran was exceptionally helpful and proactive. He made sure my early check-in request was fulfilled with a clean room ready upon arrival, and he even greeted me by name when he saw me in the corridor while he was checking other rooms. He took the time to respond to my email sent late at night—while I was out during the day—with detailed information about nearby parking options in case the hotel’s lot was full. We’ll be returning because of Mr Putasnen’s outstanding service, not because of the hotel itself. Mr Putasnen - Please take care of yourself and don't overwork :)"

"Had a lovely stay here. The room was clean, spacious, and beautifully done up, really loved the calm, cosy vibe. The café food was tasty with good portions and fair pricing. Location made it easy to get around. There was no in-room WiFi and the TV wasn’t usable due to some maintenance, but I was mostly out, so it didn’t affect me much. The staff were warm, polite, and quick to help with anything I needed. Overall, it was a comfortable and pleasant experience. Would be happy to stay again the next time I’m in the area!"

"Stayed for a night. It was clean but the building was not entirely soundproof (when you have pax staying next to you, their noise, door closing can be heard, even you could hear footsteps from the above floor). Halfway through the night (2am) lights and aircond went off and the staff (foreigner) came in to check and was very apologetic which i dont think its his fault. Decided to speak to the front desk to ask for the next solution, initially was told the rooms were all fully booked, so they cant spare another room. After 30mins, they said they can offer an upgrade to a bigger room."

"Had always been contemplating whether or not to try G Hotel Kelawai. Bit the bullet and here's my review; Room is spacious and comfortable, bed is top notch. Free minibar (replenished daily) is a plus. Swimming pool is nice although a bit shallow, and Gravity is a nice place to chill at night with view overlooking the island and Bukit Bendera. Is it worth the money? Yes. Location? Perfect. It'd be hard to find another hotel in Penang that checks all my boxes, and this could be it."
