"A heads-up to everyone booking airport transfers! Make sure you confirm your arrival terminal. Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Kenya has more than one terminal, and flight information can sometimes be inaccurate, so always double-check your actual arrival terminal after landing.
We booked an airport pickup service via email in advance, but when we arrived, we couldn't find the hotel's representative. Since we hadn't bought a local SIM card, we couldn't make calls. Our online attempts to contact them through Trip.com were also disconnected. In the end, we had to ask staff from other hotel pickup services at the airport to help us call, and we waited for nearly an hour before finally getting picked up.
We later found out from the driver that the arrival terminal we had stated in our email was T2, and the flight information also indicated T2, but we actually landed at T1A. This led to the hotel staff waiting at the wrong terminal.
As for the hotel room facilities and breakfast, they were just average, nothing particularly recommendable. However, if you're just looking for a hotel close to the airport for a quick overnight stay before a flight, it's barely acceptable."

"It felt less like a hotel and more like staying in a room within an apartment. The owner, cleaning staff, and the breakfast area were all on the 6th floor. The breakfast menu varied slightly each day, offering dishes like fried rice, potatoes, and stir-fried vegetables. It would be smoother to check in via WhatsApp. When the toilet paper ran out or the Wi-Fi acted up, they responded quickly and fixed it after I contacted them on WhatsApp. Laundry was also free. However, the main room where the laundry was kept smelled of cigarettes, possibly because people smoked there. But since it was free, I didn't mind. I also received plenty of water."

"Every time I book a hotel in Africa, I am very entangled, either the facilities are old or the service is perfunctory. This blind choice directly digs into the treasure, and the experience is directly full! After landing, the pick-up service was arranged to give a full sense of security. Because I can't speak English, I am worried that I can't communicate, and the itinerary is inconvenient, but I met the enthusiastic proprietress, who knows English, can help translate, can take us around, and can share experiences to avoid pits for us. The proprietress arranged food, lodging and transportation, everything was arranged properly and intimately, and the details were all carefully. "I booked this hotel two months in advance, paying 980 RMB per night including breakfast. However, on the day I checked in, my colleague found the price was 580 RMB per night with breakfast. Early check-in cost an extra $30.
I appreciated that the power outlets were universal Chinese type, so I didn't need an adapter. The breakfast offered steamed buns, noodles, and chopsticks. While it was nothing special, it was decent enough. The outdoor seating at the restaurant was very comfortable.
On the downside, the room facilities were outdated, and the hygiene was just average. There was a strange smell from the wardrobe and the sink, and some areas were quite dirty.
On the positive side, the staff were all very nice. If the price had been under 500 RMB per night, I would have found it acceptable. But paying nearly 1000 RMB per night, I felt like I got a raw deal."

I had a really enjoyable stay at the Swiss Lenana Mount Hotel and would happily return.
From the moment I arrived, the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. They really made an effort to help me settle in, which immediately set the tone for the stay. A standout moment for me was when the general manager personally came over to introduce himself and check that everything was going well — a small touch, but one that you don’t often experience and it made a big difference.
The rooms were spacious, very clean, and clearly well maintained. It felt comfortable and relaxing throughout my stay.
I also really appreciated the location. The area felt safe and pleasant to walk around, with some great places to eat nearby. While I usually stay in Westlands when I visit Nairobi, this was a refreshing change. You’re still only about a 10-minute Uber ride from Westlands and other key areas, but far enough out to enjoy quieter evenings and avoid the heavy traffic.
Overall, this was an excellent experience — great location, great people, and a genuinely comfortable stay. Highly recommended.

This is a relatively new and luxurious hotel in Nairobi. Security is very strict, with security personnel questioning guests at the entrance, dogs checking for explosives, and even armed security personnel checking bags in the lobby. However, there's no need to worry about security; it's purely a government requirement. The staff at the hotel are very nice, from the front desk to the concierge and the restaurant. Everyone is friendly and willing to help with any questions.
The hotel has comprehensive facilities, including table tennis, darts, a gym, and an outdoor swimming pool. The restaurant offers a rich breakfast and excellent coffee.
The hotel's location isn't very central, so there are no restaurants nearby. You can either dine at the hotel or take an Uber to the nearby village market, which offers both food and shopping. It's very convenient.

The accomodation is absolutely top range and comfortable and the place has so much to offer. Unfortunately, it appears to be running on auto pilot or poor management. These are the things which really annoyed me: 1. Arriving at night, the signage is not well lit and we struggled to establish whether we had arrived at the right place, especially the security personnel at the gate were not being very helpful. They have never been given any training to help them understand that they are the first point of contact between guests and the residency. 2. We arrived on a ”Jazz Night” but, although I am a jazz lover, it should not be foreced upon everyone. The layout of the dining area is very poorly thought out. There was no maitre d'hotel or someone to direct us as to where we should go if we wanted to eat and not listen to music. Eventually we found someone to help us walk past the music area and squeeze past the tight space to go past th bar to the dining area. The whole layout is kind of back to front. The dining area should be more easily accessible and there needs to be a way to separate the main dining area without getting rid of the dining tables in the music area. 3. The dining area is exposed at the back and there was a strong could draught that night, because the rear part of the dining area is exposed to the elements.

I am quite satisfied with the overall facilities of the hotel, but the body odor of the cleaner (male) is so strong that I can still smell the odor on my body after cleaning my room. No one came to clean the room from the first day to the second day.

What an amazing experience! Me and my wife have luckily travelled to many countries and stayed in a range of hotels and this was one of the most comfortable and welcome experiences. Our first time in Nairobi so we didn’t know too much about where to stay until we spoke to some people. They mentioned the area to be safe and also recommended this hotel as a great way to be comfortable in Nairobi. You have security in entrance and exit and they were super nice. All the staff in the hotel were accommodating and showed us around and had us alll the info we needed. We got breakfast included and stayed for 3 nights. The breakfast was exactly what we needed. You have a range of foods to choose from and I’m sure you’ll find something you like! The food at the hotel is halal which is great for us too. Our room was cleaned and refilled every day and they were respectful and details in their service. We also used the gym which was super great. Enough for you to get a good workout in too. The location is next to Sarit Centre, perfect to access the Masai Market (on specific days) and also shops of all kinds.
Big thank you to the team and everyone involved! Will definitely choose this hotel if I’m ever in Nairobi and also one I’d recommend to friends and family.

My stay at Pride Inn Azure was fantastic. The staff were accommodating, friendly, helpful, kind. Everyone smiled and went above and beyond if I had any questions. The room was huge. The bed was so comfortable. I slept like a baby both nights. The breakfast was very tasty, with so many options to choose from. The service was outstanding. The hotel’s décor and furnishings was immaculate. I felt very comfortable here and I highly recommend it. As a solo traveller I felt very safe. The only thing that’s a bit uncomfortable is where the pool is located. You have to walk past the outdoor restaurant seating to go to the pool. I wish the changing rooms lead directly to the pool. I didn’t use the pool for that reason. The gym had great equipment. There was a personal trainer there who helped me achieve a fantastic full body workout. He was brilliant. I love mostly everything about the hotel. I’d love to thank Maryann in particular for her outstanding service. She’s a real gem. But honestly, all the staff were amazing. The hotel is also in a great location - woth shops and malls within a short walking distance. I’ll be back and I’ll tell everyone I know about my experience. Thank you!!

I stayed here twice, once on arrival and again the day before my flight home. The first time, I was a bit disappointed because I was on the 5th floor and my window looked out onto a terrace. However, my second stay was on the 9th floor with an amazing view overlooking Nairobi National Park, which really boosted my overall impression! I could even spot giraffes and ostriches with binoculars.
The room itself was spacious and comfortable, with absolutely no complaints. Security was also excellent. I had expected there to be more shops within the building, but aside from about three restaurants, most of the other spaces were vacant. So, for any shopping, you'll need to venture outside.

Jason2023Good location if you want to be fairly central with a few minutes walk to plenty of bars. Uber is very efficient and cheap here if you want to travel out. The staff were very good and the restaurant/bar is 24/7 (I believe). Room was lovely. Overall, although I think Nairobi is a little on the expensive side, this was ok. I tried to book again for after the safari but it was more expensive so i went to the Swiss Belinn instead, which was cheaper and the same standard (a little further away but again, Uber and Bolt are super efficient and cheap here).
TIPS FOR FOREIGNERS COMING INTO KENYA:
1. Get your currency outside of Kenya, the exchange rate here, particularly at the airport, is absolutely awful - I found them to be offering upto 35% less than the actual rate.
2. You only really need a small amount of cash here - most places you will visit accept card.
3. DO NOT BUY A TELKOM SIM CARD. It is absolutely useless, even in Nairobi but does not work AT ALL on safari.
4. Uber and Bolt are very good here.
5. If you are doing safari and your trip does not include the national park fees (payable in USD), make sure you get those before arriving - the banks and ATMs here are very unreliable if you want USD.
6. Do not pay extortionate hotel prices for laundry - find a local company who will collect and deliver your laundry for a fraction of the price like Smartfua Laundromat.
7. If you go on Safari, try not to sit on the back of the vehicle - it gets VERY bumpy.
