"It's a bit of a walk from Kanazawa Station, probably 15-20 minutes. You'll pass a Montbell store on the way, which is nice for a quick browse. It's very close to Omicho Seafood Market. I'm a big fan of Mitsui Garden Hotels, mainly because they all have large public baths. After a long day of sightseeing, a relaxing soak in the bath at night helps you recover quickly. I'll definitely choose Mitsui hotels again in the future."

"Location is good. 4 mins walk from station. Family mart and 7/11 around the corner.
Room is ok size. Hotel has onsen which is a bonus. The bed is good and there are many pillows, seemed to be memory foam! Didn't try breakfast as it's 2200 yen!
I gave a 4 for cleanliness because there do snt seem to be a service lift for staff. I met a staff pushing the days change of bedsheets to another floor. Also, the corridors have no ventilation. When maid chambers clean the rooms and left the used towels etc at the corridors, the smell is really bad! That was the smell in my room when I checked in. I had to open the windows to clear the air. I think the hotel can look into this matter.
Otherwise the stay was great! Staff at reception was polite and helpful."

"It's about a ten-minute walk from Kanazawa Station, and on the way, you'll pass by what's considered the best Montbell store in the Chubu region. The hotel is clean, the room is a decent size, and it's very new, making for a very comfortable stay. The lobby offers a complimentary coffee machine, and upon check-in, guests receive a welcome drink. They also provide vending machine tokens based on the number of occupants, allowing each person to get one free drink. There's an ice machine and a laundry room on the second floor. Omi-cho Market is just diagonally across from the hotel."

"It's great to see more high-quality apartment rentals becoming available. This place is perfect for extended stays, and having an in-unit washer-dryer is incredibly convenient. Since it just opened, all the facilities are brand new. Our high-floor apartment was very quiet and offered a nice view. Being able to cook your own meals is a big plus. It would be helpful if the host could offer more kitchen equipment for rent. The YouTube and Netflix streaming options were very convenient, and there's a self-service coffee station downstairs."

"This hotel boasts a fantastic location directly across from Kanazawa Station. You can't miss it; it's the tall building on your right as you exit the Kenrokuen Gate. "My child and I stayed for 3 nights. When I booked on Ctrip, it stated that daily breakfast for two was included. However, upon check-in, the front desk informed me there was an error with the travel agency's booking, and it only covered breakfast for one adult. I hope Ctrip will be more explicit when handling bookings to avoid such misunderstandings.
Ultimately, the front desk staff, who spoke Chinese, patiently clarified the situation and confirmed breakfast for two. The process was efficient, and their service was excellent, showing great attention to detail. Thank you!

About a 10-minute walk from Kanazawa Station. It's easy to find: just exit the south gate, turn left, and follow the main road. The rooms were spacious and offered good value for money. There's also a small onsen (hot spring bath) that isn't too crowded if you go early.
**Cons (unrelated to the hotel):**
Kanazawa's main attractions, shops, and restaurants all close by 5 PM – including the tea districts, as you can see in the photo. What's more, they often don't even open until 10-11 AM. With such short operating hours, it's no surprise that prices are high, and it makes you wonder about the local economy's dynamism. The so-called ”Little Kyoto” is a complete misnomer; anyone who has experienced the real Kyoto will honestly find Kanazawa quite unnecessary to visit."

"This is one of my favorite Dormy Inn hotels, boasting a distinct Japanese style. Our last family trip before the pandemic fully broke out was during Chinese New Year in 2020, and we created wonderful memories at the Dormy Inn in Sakaiminato. That's why we chose this hotel again for our return trip to Japan. Both check-in and check-out are entirely self-service via machines. They even allowed us to check in early on the day of arrival, giving me more time to explore Kanazawa Castle. The rooftop hot spring bath is beautifully designed, with an ambiance reminiscent of Kenrokuen Garden. After a relaxing soak, complimentary drinks and ice cream are available, not to mention the late-night ramen that left us with such fond memories from our 2020 visit. With an extensive breakfast selection, everything was just perfect."

GGuest UserThe hotel itself boasts a fantastic design, and its location is absolutely superb. It's right opposite the seafood market and just a few minutes' walk from Higashiide Coffee, which meant I had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast and coffee there one morning.
It's a bit of a distance from Kanazawa Station. While the hotel does offer a shuttle service, it only operates in the afternoon. I ended up taking a taxi to the hotel from the station, but this was perfectly acceptable.
Overall, it's excellent! I've already recommended it to my friends and will definitely be back!

GGuest UserUpon arrival, the sofa bed was already set up, making the room feel very spacious. The kitchen was fully equipped with pots, pans, an induction cooktop, coffee machine, kettle, range hood, dishwasher, dish soap, and dishcloths – everything you could need. The toilet was separate from the washroom and shower. The shower had great water pressure. I didn't notice any skincare amenities provided in the room, but pajamas, toothbrushes, and razors were available for guests to pick up in the lobby. The lobby featured a spacious lounge and reading area, along with a drink vending machine.
Downstairs and a right turn led directly to a food mall. Across a small street, to the left were a hair salon and an excellent seafood restaurant, while to the right was Hyakubangai shopping street.
The front desk staff, who I believe was from Southeast Asia, could communicate well in English and had a pleasant demeanor.
On a side note, here are some Kanazawa sightseeing recommendations. My child's top pick was Myoryuji Temple. It was reportedly built by the local lord as a covert defense against the central government, featuring many ingenious (though perhaps not very sturdy) hidden mechanisms. Many temples in that area were supposedly established for similar strategic purposes. My personal favorite was Nagamachi, near the Buke Yashiki (Samurai District). It's an area concentrated with former samurai residences – imagine a beautiful Japanese version of a historic mansion district like the Yuyuan Road or Huashan Hospital area in Shanghai. Scattered nearby are art shops, small museums detailing local history, and craft galleries. It’s quite fascinating to explore and learn about Kanazawa's past. There's also a small alley, possibly only open in the evenings, with yakitori izakayas called 'Hashi-something' (Bridge-something)?
Higashi Chaya District, on the other hand, felt a bit like a 'tourist street' – the kind you find in many cities, whether genuinely old or a recreation – with somewhat homogenous merchandise. Still, it's very picturesque for photos. The Asano River itself was just like any small river in a Japanese provincial town, with scenery not quite comparable to the impressive urban riverfronts back home in China.

RRoytanOne of the closest hotel to Kanazawa train station. As close as 100m. There is a bus stop at the train station where you can take buses to the many places of interest in Kanazawa itself. Room is clean and spacious. Buffet breakfast is good. But no onsen within hotel. There are hotels around kanazawa station with onsens. So if you looking for hotels with onsens facility, go to other nearby hotels. It's still close to the train station but not as close as kanazawa hotel.

TTroy HarkinAfter doing a bit of research for this part of my family's trip to Japan over Christmas, Kanazawa was high on our list (now Top 25 places to go this year according to National Geographic!). So glad we stayed there.
Look no further than a walk outside of Kanazawa Station (buses and trains easily accessible) and go to Hyatt Centric. Amazing location in terms of accessibility (the city itself is quite walkable or you can do the loop buses from there).
The amenities and room were top notch. Staff were amazing everywhere, their take on breakfast was also done well with a mix of local Kanazawan cuisine, Japanese dishes, and Western dishes.
Rooftop Bar was also nice.
Rooms were also very affordable compared to other cities in Japan for what some might consider a higher quality.
Already planning our next family trip and plan to go here again.

GGuest UserIt is not my first time to visit the Dormy Inn chain with the onsen available in every hotel. As always, the room is spacious and clean, and the onsen has both indoor and outdoor bath. It is within 2 minutes walk from Kanazawa station with easy access. There are numerous washing machines (free of charge!) and dryers available, so you don’t have to queue for washing machines if you had a long trip and need your clothes to be washed. There is a wall of manga outside the onsen and washing area for killing time. I will definitely continue to choose Dormy Inn if available.

GGoncalvesI was positively surprised with my stay at this hotel. I booked last minute for the Japanese holidays and there were very few of options left in the city. I expected just a clean, basic stay in very budget hotel, but it turned out to be a great and quite comfortable experience.
I'm not sure if it's because it's Japan, but this hotel felt much better than other similar options I've stayed in the past, like Ibis. It was extremely clean, the bed comfortable enough bed (though the pillows were quite high), and the water, lighting and temperature control were very modern and made us feel at ease.
The location is another highlight. Easily accessible from the station by taxi or bus, close to the fish market and within walking distance to many other attractions. The surrounding area is also modern and pleasant to live in.
The staff's English was limited but service was polite and very good, as you would expect in Japan.
The only downsize is the room size. It's really small. While it feels cozy, so it's not suffocating for 2 people, a large suitcases it will take up most of the floor space.

MMike IgWe had a mixed experience at this hotel in Kanazawa. The location is definitely a plus — Omicho Market is just around the corner, and it’s about a 15-minute walk to the railway station, which made getting around relatively easy.
However, the room left a lot to be desired. It didn’t feel well maintained or properly cleaned. The in-room tablet didn’t work at all, and some parts of the air conditioning unit were open, exposing dirty interior components — not something you’d expect in a Japanese hotel.
The onsen was a nice feature, but often too crowded. There were three washing machines available for guests, but they were constantly in use, even late at night or early in the morning, which made doing laundry very difficult.
Staff were okay, but not particularly warm or polite by Japanese standards. Overall, it was a passable stay, but we wouldn’t choose this hotel again.

MMagnus TanThe dorm was quite tricky to find on the sidewalk, walking from JR Kanazawa station, the sign was on a wall behind me, in the walkway leading into the building it was. One should look out to the left once you’ve reached the building.
There were no staff when I checked in late at night around 10pm, but I received an email beforehand detailing the guest forms I should fill up and some other information. Once I arrived, there were other clear instructions about my bunk, luggage storage and house rules. The entry area had several books and leaflets about the area and a map indicating eateries and sightseeing locations recommended by staff, a useful touch. Some of it were in English too.
The bunk was perfectly acceptable for a quick night sleep. The bed was wide and had lockable lockers to the side. Refreshments like drinks, snacks and noodles were also available for a small fee and payment was done via a tin box. Overall, very good value for money and it provided an opportunity to chat with other travellers staying by there. I chatted with someone from Taiwan and a local working at Kanazawa station’s tourist information centre. He was snowed in for the night and it’s worth noting that, it would be a struggle to haul luggage through heavy snow on the way to the property.
