Had a wonderful stay here at Forest Inn, Hainan University! My cousin is starting university nearby and we came to drop her off. Since we had stayed in the downtown before, we wanted to find a place close to campus to experience. This hotel is the best option! It’s right within the campus entrance and easy to navigate to. The front desk concierge’s were very friendly and kind - two of them even took us around on the tour bus to familiarize us with the campus and surrounding area. They even went out of their way and offered to help us unload luggage. Since there was no parking space on move-in day, having the option to drop off saved us a lot of hassle. In addition to campus, the hotel is also located close to a botanical garden, about 15 minutes to the downtown area, and close to shops, stores, etc. Some suggestions: - Wish the pool was accessible as advertised on Trip but it’s now only a kiddie pool. - For longer stays, room amenities should be replenished daily based on number of guests. - I received a rather expensive delivery during my stay and asked the courier to leave it with the front desk as I was out during that time. There was someone at the front desk with a poor attitude who denied that any deliveries arrived and suggested it had been delivered to another location. Luckily, another staff member helped me check and found my delivery. I suggest besides giving guests misleading information, to ensure it’s accurate first.

First time staying at Ocean Flower Island and Castle Hotel. Huge hotel with 5000+ rooms. We did not expect to find some facilities (e.g. swimming pools, etc) are closed for maintenance. Free shuttle bus to & from the railway station provides convenience for guests. While the front desk staff might not be as knowledgeable & helpful in our queries, the personal butler had provided us with excellent service. Stay here for one night to see the ocean flower island and the light show. The hotel room had a great view and it's right next to the food street. You just need a short walk and you can see McDonald's or KFC and a bunch of restaurants. It is walking distance to the wedding manor where they were running the light show. The hotel bed was comfy and the TV had a number of free movies to watch!! We love the hotel breakfast spread. For some weird reason there were not a lot of tourists at night at the food street and outlet mall. It's just three of us and random couples down the road. The only thing that can be improved on is the service staff at the reception. The hotel does provide buggy rides but the frequency is one hour, so I wanted to ask about train rides and how to go about the area but they weren't too friendly, so we gave up and just walked around nearby. Overall quite happy with the short one night stay.
