Alishan Hotel Dafeng Resort is about 75 kilometers east of Chiayi City, east of Yushan Mountain Range and adjacent to Yushan National Park. It is located in Alishan National Forest Recreation Area, about 2,200 meters above sea level, right behind the Tourist Service Center, close to shopping streets, restaurants, train stations, bus stations and tourist service centers, and transportation is very convenient., and can book sunrise tours to Yushan National Park. The hotel uses electric blankets all year round, and heating equipment is provided in winter (computer-controlled below 7 degrees C).
"The hotel room was clean and seemed to have been recently renovated. They even had an electric blanket! The bathroom was very spacious and spotless. There's only one elevator, but it was sufficient and we didn't have to wait long. I'm not sure if the staff speak English, as we were able to communicate in Chinese. However, they weren't particularly friendly or smiling much, but it wasn't a major issue for us. The price was quite high for the room quality, but then again, you're paying for the location within the national park."

"Great stay here! Good value for Alishan. Location was fine, relatively close to Shizhuo and Fenqiqhu by car and close to a 7/11. It’s tricky to reach by public transport, you’ll most likely need a car. Advice would be to go to Hotel Indigo and drive up from there, it’s narrow but fine. The double room was lovely, really relaxed and cute. Staff are direct but helpful, not much English but very helpful with any questions. Ask her for the location to go to for sunset, it was AMAZING, about 10 mins drive from the b&b. We missed sunrise due to clouds but the sunset made up for it. The breakfast was good with good variety for Alishan, coffee excellent. It’s a chill “cabin in the woods” vibe"

"Our stay in the family room at Fenqihu Hotel truly exceeded expectations! The room was much more spacious than I imagined; we could spread out our luggage with plenty of room to spare, which is a huge plus for families traveling together. The beds were incredibly comfortable – I fell asleep instantly, getting that much-needed relaxation during a trip 😌. What I loved most was how clean the entire place was. There was no dampness or stuffy smell, which is quite rare and impressive for a mountain area. It was also very quiet at night, ensuring a perfect night's sleep. Waking up to a full mountain view outside the window, with super fresh air, felt like an instant recharge 🌄. The staff were also very friendly and approachable, patiently helping us with any questions we had. Plus, the location is incredibly convenient; it's just a few minutes' walk to the old street, making it super easy to enjoy local food and take photos. Overall, this hotel is highly recommended for travelers looking to relax and conveniently explore Fenqihu. It's absolutely perfect for families, and I would definitely love to stay here again!"

"It’s a 10 mins walk to the nearest convenience store and eateries near to Xiding bus stop. The path gets quite dim and quiet at night. What’s nearby is mainly the “Tea and Mist Trail” - entrance to the trail is 2 mins walk from Dafang. The nearest bus stop to Dafang is Lincuo (3-5 mins walk away), which is not a major stop i.e. you can get off the tourist shuttle bus but you can’t board at Lincuo bus stop. The nearest stop to board the bus is Xiding. The room was fairly comfortable, but we were far from impressed with the aesthetics. Functional wise, It would have been useful to have a clothing rack in the room. While the room is spacious, the bathroom is rather cramped. Breakfast was simple and individually served, at the rooftop lounge which offers a great view of the mountain range."

"The hotel room was very clean and new. The location is also great, very close to Alishan Railway Station. However, when booking, you need to be careful about the price. When we booked in advance, it showed only one room left, and we booked it at a very high price. But a few days later, many rooms became available again at extremely low prices, a difference of over a thousand dollars. It seems they intentionally held back rooms to inflate the price, so be cautious about the price when booking."

GGuest UserQuaint little place up on a hill on the way to Alishan. The service provided was extremely good with them waiting up to 12 midnight for our arrival. Breakfast was such a treat with an excellent view! Our stay was almost perfect except that we encountered a really big 15cm spider in our bathroom, but it is hard to avoid nature’s visit 😛

GGuest UserThe B&B is located on the way up Alishan Highway. The owner was very helpful, providing detailed instructions on how to get to the B&B and Alishan by bus. The place smells wonderfully of tea, and the room was simple and clean. Following the owner's advice, I walked 5 minutes to a small tea plantation on a hillside near the B&B. It fulfilled my wish to stargaze at night and watch the sunrise in the morning. The tea plantation scenery was beautiful, and I even got a discount when buying some tea leaves. However, it might be flower season, so be aware that the uphill buses might be full!

SShuxiaEnvironment is peaceful and suitable for people who drive because it's quite far away from Taiping Bridge and not accessible by public transport. So we ended with plenty of time after arrival. So we engaged a private car to chauffeur us the next day for NT3500 from Minsu to Taiping Bridge (too misty to see anything), then had lunch at Fenqihu and finally stopped at Alishan hotel. We should have stuck to original plan to just go Fenqihu for NT1000 transport fare and stay there for a night because when we reached Alishan, it was near 3:30p.m., there's not much time for us to roam the place due to the gloomy weather and heavy mist.

For city dwellers, staying in this rural cottage offers a refreshing return to nature. It's particularly well-suited for solo travelers. The guesthouse is simple yet far from crude; the owner has put a lot of thoughtful touches into many details, making guests feel right at home. I'll never forget watching the sunrise from the front yard, with the clouds and mist swirling through the valley.

AAnonymous UserThe location is excellent, there are many restaurants nearby, it is also close to Minxiong Station, and the whole union is nearby. The service staff is very polite and kind. The phone in the room was faulty and it was repaired immediately. And check out at 12 o'clock.

IIvanEBCDon’t get me wrong f, there’s a wonderful Old school charm about this hotel and the staff are very nice, I loved sitting g down for a fresh brew of oolong while we discussed our future plans. But little thi ga like bins not emptied and having to request clean cups is something I do t want to have to do. Its location is beautiful but you need to plan your trip well as it’s midway through a bus route and getting to other places can mean standing room only or sometimes simply not available (we needed a private car To get back to Chiayi hsr) But it’s a nice place with an old school charm and friendly helpful staff. Do t forget to check out the rooftop area… worth it!

GGuest UserRoom 210, a six-person room, felt a bit small, almost like it was converted from a two or four-person room. The entryway for six pairs of shoes was quite cramped. The room was next to the elevator, but noise wasn't really an issue. The bathroom was very narrow, and the sink was so small that I almost hit the mirror while washing my face. There was no separate wet and dry area in the bathroom. They provided one pair of plastic slippers and six pairs of paper slippers, but I'd recommend bringing your own for more comfort. The communal restroom was on the first floor, and the water dispenser was on the second. The room itself was clean and odorless, had a TV, but not many power outlets. A small hairdryer was provided. Breakfast was an all-you-can-eat buffet at a restaurant near 7-Eleven, and the cabbage was delicious 😋

GGuest UserThis place is overpriced for what it is. It was the most expensive accommodation we have stayed in Taiwan, and by far the worst. Of course you are paying for stunning location in the national park, and apparently all Alishan accommodation is similarly overpriced/run down, however there is no need to charge so much (other than to boost their profits of course). The hotel is dated and run down. Room was dark and dinghy. The bed was so uncomfortable - rock solid mattress and awful pillow. The bathroom was not clean, but hot water was great. WiFi was mostly good. The breakfast looked and smelt so bad they we couldn’t even try it. But we had an amazing time in Alishan and the hotel was perfectly located to base ourselves and get some rest, so don’t expect luxury, but appreciate the convenience.

Would need to walk down if arriving by the Alishan train as there is no shuttle service provided to and from the station. Breakfast was located at another building within walking distance of the hotel. Clealiness was average and room was small but sufficient for a nights' rest
