The hotel is lovely. My room was fine except for ”rust” in the bath tub. I could not take a bath. I did not report it intitially was there for a conference and did not have time nor did I want to change rooms and was not sure there were rooms available. Boy, did the clerk at the front desk ream me when I checked out and mentioned it and wanted them to make amends. She said it was my fault I did not report it and said I called down on the second day to the front desk from my room phone and it rang and rang. She saId I could have stopped by during my conference. I said I want to speak to a manager - the manager was nice and after repeating multiple times saying it wasn't intentional - I cut her off and said I want a meal comped. She provided a $40 credit. Obviously, Mariott doesn't train their employees that the customer is right.

Wow, what a great vacation spot. Fantastic views and services Breakfast in the 2nd floor restaurant with JORDAN, we could not have had a better experience. He was polite, friendly, helpful, and made sure that we were happy with our meals. Also, the Wet Whisle bar, which overlooks the beach and pool area, was a lot of fun. Upon checking in, the front desk workers were beyond helpful! There was never a need to ask a question and what to do or where to go! The room was beyond clean and the housekeepers were excellent at there job! All the workers were always cheerful and was there to answer and help with any questions! Probably the best hotel experience I ever had! Definitely will stay again!

We stay in a lot of Holiday Inn Expresses. Consistency is key for them and I expect it. This one stood out with an individual desk clerk. I provided his name to HIE but don’t recall it now. After my check in, next time by the desk he said hello with my name! Hasn’t happened before in any hotel. He made it memorable for us.
SSunday SClearly, ”clean” is relative. The hotel has a sheen of dust/dirt. Their standards of clean are subpar. I'm so disappointed in the hotel. Front desk staff was VERY friendly and helpful. One housekeeper had to come and clean again after we checked in and she was super pleasant. Hair on shower wall, greasy tile floors that hadn't been mopped, dust and sand on the desk and other surfaces. Remotes were filthy (I always travel with bleach wipes and the wipes had visible dirt on them from the buttons). The breakfast was ho-hum and the area not that clean. Serving utensils were never cleaned or swapped out. And hot food and Styrofoam plates and bowls is diabolical. The young man was nice. The lady was rude and had on a dirty shirt at 7:30am. Toddler underwear were in one of the elevators for more than 24 hours. Trash can was dirty at 6:55am. The bulk of the housekeeping staff appear to be white women, and as a black woman in the South, they did not feel hospitable (to me, and I know the vibe well). They barely speak even when greeted. I'm a platinum IHG member on a tour with Holiday Inn Vacations. Both companies should be ashamed.

We stayed at this hotel while on vacation. The rest of our family stayed on the beach but we needed a hotel that was dog friendly and away from from the busy *****. We chose this Hampton Inn as we had read in recent reviews that they just went through a renovation, they were dog friendly, and it was a in a good area of town. Unfortunately it did not live up to the Hampton Inn / Hilton brand. After traveling 6 hours, we arrived around 3pm and our room was not ready, which was fine as we know check in is not until 4pm so we went to visit family in the mean time. My husband called at 4pm and it still wasn’t ready and they said they would call us. At 5pm, we were a little agitated given we had 2 dogs in the car and we were just ready to settle in and unload the car. At that point, we called Hilton Reservations to see what options we had for cancelling / changing hotels. Finally around 5:30 we received a call that our room was ready. We checked in and got on the elevator which had cracked tiles and was dirty. Our hallway didn’t appear to be vacuumed. When we got to our room, there was a smell of musty-cigarette smoke coming from the air vents. The room itself was clean. I wouldn’t say it appeared to be renovated yet unless it was just the updated lighting fixtures and bathroom wallpaper. Throughout our stay for the week, the hallway never appeared to be vacuumed and the staff didn’t seem super pleasant when checking in, passing by, or asking for towels. The designated area for pets to relieve themselves was behind the hotel and it was a big area. However, the back door was always open since the lock was broken and the sign beside the door clearly stated that the door was always locked for guest safety. Towards the end of our stay, we took the dogs outside and one of our dogs was startled by a guest or employee who was just getting off work. We calmed her down but then he antagonized our dog by barking at her and laughing. We did not appreciate that at all. I had went to the on-site gym and was disappointed by how dirty the facility was. I can say the treadmill worked but the weight machine did not, the weight adjustment tabs were stuck. Two of the medicine balls were deflated and there was one set of free weights. There were no cleaning wipes in the facility to wipe items down in between uses. We considered checking out and going to the Hampton over by Broadway at the Beach two days into our stay but didn’t want to uproot the dogs again. My husband travels for work often and always stays at Hampton Inn / Hilton brand hotels. This was by far one of his worst experiences. After the check-in fiasco, my husband had asked to speak with a manager but the GM would be out till Tuesday (it was Sunday). He called and left a voicemail for the GM (Monica) . She has yet to call him back. We would not stay here again.
GGuest UserThis was our second visit to this Fairfield and once again it was a great experience. We were greeted by a very pleasant receptionist who quickly got us checked in and in our room. Our room was right beside the elevator and the ice machine but we were not disturbed at all during the night. Breakfast with Mrs Pat was a delight! She kept the food refilled and the people entertained! She is definitely an asset to the hotel! She made sure everyone had what they wanted and even warmed biscuits upon request! The hotel is conveniently located close to her he Tanger outlets and a Walmart.
A small issue with the toilet in the bathroom getting backed up. No plunger in room to possibly correct the problem. Everything else was fine. The tv worked, the lighting and air conditioning were fine, the bed while not the greatest were ok. My key cards worked, while one worked better than the other. Iron, ironing board were fine. I didnt use the microwave so I cant give my opinion on that. Centrally located next door to the location I was at for a 3 day convention (Broadway at the Beach) so that was good.
I was there with family and dog. Impression is that the property is generally well maintained and run, although there were a few quirks. Front desk staff tried hard to keep guests satisfied when problems were over their heads. Continental breakfast included a good selection of high-carb food plus the usual eggs and meat and yogurt. My only objections were costs. The fee for a dog is $30/night, which I found to be high, but not so high that it prevented me from staying there. However, I was disappointed to find an additional ”hotel service fee” tagged onto my bill that was not mentioned when I priced the hotel, and I won't return to this hotel for that reason. I don't know how hotels can get away with advertising rates that exclude a hotel fee that is just an additional percentage of the hotel rate; seems sleazy.
Landmark was amazing during our week of being displaced from Hurricane Helene while we had no power, water, internet, etc. Everyone was very kind we spoke with. We were there for a week and love the convenience to local shopping, restaurants and of course, the Grand Strand! Looking forward to the next time, but not as a hurricane evacuee!
