Currently staying at the hotel. Room is ok, bar is ok, haven't had a chance to eat at the restaurant yet but overheard others at the bar saying the food was good. Only reason I'm reviewing is to give a heads up. Even the grungiest Hampton Inn has a microwave in the room. I travel a lot for work and almost always stay at a Hilton brand, typically Double Trees. I was convinced by my client to switch to this hotel, wishing I hadn't. I work from the hotel all night and a microwave in the room is crucial. Wish I'd noticed before loading up on microwavable meals for those goofy hours. Called the front desk to see if there was one available (or if I just wasn't finding it) and was told there's 1 microwave for the entire hotel by the gift shop. This is a 9 story hotel. Gross. And I'm not excited about having to trek all the way down to the lobby and back with my food at 3am. Anyway, nice average mid-rang Hilton chain hotel but I guess remember to look at the room amenities before booking. Coming back to Columbus in the Fall for the second wave of this project, I'll be staying somewhere else.

stayed two nights for a conference and it was my first time in Columbus. Everyone was super friendly and helpful and I felt very safe. The check in was smooth despite thousands of conference attendees in the area, I never had to wait long for an elevator, the bartenders were great conversationalists, the concierge was sweet and helpful, the bartender at the hotel bar was so nice, the bellman and the valets were very friendly and helpful. Brian was so kind when helping me with my car both times and even offered me a bottled water while I waited. I highly recommend staying here!

I would like to start out by thinking the sales team here at the hotel and everyone else from the housekeeping, the breakfast crew and specially the front desk crew from the time I checked in on Thursday to the time we checked out on Sunday everyone was so so nice and so helpful. We had a family reunion in Columbus and we stayed here. We had several rooms and everyone in my family had nothing but good things to say about the hotel, I have stayed here before that’s why I chose this hotel. We appreciate everything everyone has done. The rooms was very clean. Breakfast was good. The whole hotel was just spotless. we went skating. The hotel was close by skating and close by where we were having our picnic. It helped a lot being in the sanity that the hotel is because we used Wallmark we use Sam’s Club and Costco. Thank you so much again and we definitely will be back.

The hotel mainly targets concert and stadium goers. This trip, we lined up outside and waited for well over an hour to get checked into our room. A single clerk was doing the best he could do, certainly not reasonable to only schedule one desk clerk. The rest of our stay was great, no issues or complaints at all. The hotel was a longer walk than advertised, but walkable for sure. Able to stay out of traffic and enjoy the weekend. We certainly recommend for stadium goers.

The hotel room is very large, the design must be beautiful, and the breakfast is also very delicious. It's a typical American breakfast. It's very good to have a menu to order according to your taste. The house has a sofa. It's very considerate to have a waiter come to the room to open the sofa and put it on. Beautiful surroundings of the hotel

We had booked a stay at the Home2Suites on September 1, 2024 for an event in Columbus during the weekend of September 20, 2024. On September 18, 2024, I received an e-mail from ******* (our booking site) from Home2Suites saying that our reservation had been cancelled. That's it, with no explanation. I talk with ******* and they call the hotel and the hotel's explanation is that they no longer have rooms available. I had a reservation. I had already paid, yet they just cancel my reservation during an event weekend. I had to get a hotel at a greater cost in another city (Dayton), and will now drive to the event. I talked to the hotel directly and the very nice clerk (who was clearly not involved in this) said that their manager told them that the system allowed them to overbook so they cancelled our reservation and they apologized. Incompetent management, incompetent hotel, but very friendly desk clerk. Will never recommend or stay here or Home2Suites.

If you spend the night in this city, it's a great hotel. The location is very good, the surroundings are very quiet, and there are very good restaurants nearby. If you had stayed here, you would not have chosen another hotel.

Hotel was sold out so the rooms were already assigned when we checked in. This wasn't an issue until the 4 of us on this trip walked in to a 1 king bed room. We went back downstairs where the front desk acted like they weren't going to be able to switch us because it was sold out. We checked in a little early so there's no way everyone staying had their rooms already- it should have been a quick switch. Finally I pulled up the reservation to show we had booked a 2 queen room. We went to the new room and dropped our stuff before heading out to a concert that we were in town for. When got back to the hotel after midnight our experience got even worse. One girl went to shower and noticed mold on the shower ceiling. The rest of us were welcomed with wet feet from the damp carpet. We were so tired that we just decoded to climb in bed. Imagine our auprise when ALL of the bedding was just as damp. It was so icky and uncomfortable none of us could fall asleep. I called the front desk to let them know around 2am and they said they'd send housekeeping up at 6am. No one ever came. I also mentioned all of this to the lady during checkout and wrote a note to have the manager call me when she was in on Monday. No one called. I've called now 3 days in a row and nothing. Very disappointed in our stay and in the hotel's communication.

GGuest UserFront desk was really friendly and location is close to campus but that is about all I can say about our stay here. When we checked in for the game they didn't inform us that they would be running a shuttle to the game so by the time we saw them they were all booked up. We had friends to our room the first night for pizza and beer. The next morning I requested housecleaning for the room because we had pizza boxes and empty beer bottles and no clean towels. The response was sorry you aren't eligible for housekeeping until the next day! So I explained and they didn't care, their response was set the trash in the hallway and come down to the front desk for clean towels. For over $300 a night, I wasn't expecting to do my own room cleaning, trash removal and towel service! Yes, they jack the room rates up over double for game weekends (I think that's called gouging).
GGuest UserI had a great experience. The staff went out of there way to help us. They gave us a late checkout and plates for our pizza. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. I will definitely be coming back next year for Buckeye countryfest if we go.
MMadDogBikerHaving sworn-off the Red Roof chain many years ago because filthy, run-down properties, we went out on a limb to stay here based on the good reviews and the need for a place to stay that accepted pets without charging an arm and a leg. We were impressed. The hotel and grounds were well-maintained, rooms were very clean, the staff were friendly and the location was good. Is it the Ritz Carlton, no, not at this price point. The towels were nice though the amenities like soap, shampoo, etc. were in wall-mounted dispensers. Ho-hum. But we slept well and the hotel was quiet even though we were only one room away from the elevator. The cable TV package wasn’t exactly robust but acceptable. There wasn’t anything in the line of a continental breakfast which has become a staple of most places but they did have coffee makers in the room and coffee 24/7 in the lobby. The room (Suite King w/sofa Bed) was large and well-lit with ample charging outlets for electronics but required an angled view to watch TV unless you watch while in bed. The bathroom was oddly small but not a deal-breaker. Just don’t count on a large vanity and be prepared to stack your items efficiently. We can’t comment on the Wi-Fi since we travel with our own Hotspots. Strange, but there weren’t any trash containers to be found in the hallways and one could easily be added next to the ice machines. If there was anything that could have been better, it would have been a bit more flexibility on the part of the hotel in allowing a late check-out. We requested a check-out of noon vs. the standard 11AM but we’re only given an extra 30 minutes. Really? Had we not worked in the hospitality industry some years ago, this might have been a non-issue. But on a Monday when the hotel was less than fully occupied the night before, this *really* rubbed me the wrong way. Would we stay there again? Yes though we’d be more insistent on a little more cooperation on what’s generally a non-issue.
GGuest UserThe room (though very outdated and dismal) was spacious and provided a microwave and fridge. Other than that, this hotel should be passed by. First of all, we only had two towels in our room that was registered for 4 people. No washcloths or handtowels either. So we had to ask for those. I've never been to a Choice hotel where the towels and washcloths were not clean & plentiful. Second, the grab and go breakfast was subpar. Most other hotels have resumed their breakfast buffets but not this one. Third, the hot tub was out of order. And lastly, the pool was supposedly open but we could not use it because you had to have a reservation. I'm not sure how one would know that. After we questioned this, it was then that they placed a sign on the front desk stating the pool was by reservation only. Even at that, no one was using the pool. So even though the pool had no guests in it...apparently someone reserved it but did not show up so that kept others from using the pool. We saw several disappointed families. I guess I can see limiting the number in the pool at one time...but a reservation system that does not make adjustments for no shows (and is not made clear at check in) is an unfair system. This hotel still charges their full rate even without bringing back their full services. I would say pass this one up. Columbus has so many other ”choices” even in the Choice brand.
RrfiordaI stayed at Holiday Inn for one night on June 27th and they made a hold on my credit card. However, the hold was never released and they actually charged my card. I have lost count how many times I have called the hotel to get it solved and get my money back for something they should not have charged me. Some of the times the front desk person was really rude and in several occasions they said that they would verify and call me back, which never happened. In the moments that I could talk to the manager (which was not easy since she is usually not there) she was actually nicer but did not solve the problem either. They keep saying that the amount is going to be refunded to my credit card, but I never got the refund. It has been more than a month since I stayed at Holiday Inn Columbus Downtown and I am still trying to get this refund. In summary, only stay at this hotel if you are willing to loose your deposit and spend time and patience trying to get it back without knowing when. So if you stay there, good luck.
GGuest UserHandicap accessible room: A little disappointed: security latch was completely broken off; shower curtain was to short and water would splash out onto floor; shower floor around wall was old and brown looking from either age and/improper cleaning/ shower seat, when folded up was just dirty looking; overall, it is a little outdated and the room just didn’t feel or look clean.
Also, breakfast opens at 7:30 am! We needed to be on the road before breakfast is even an option! Not good for those who stay at this hotel for during the week and have time commitments! This was a big negative for us.
GGuest UserThe hotel is definitely dated, could use some upgrades. It was fairly clean but not what I’d consider great. There were families and kids in the hall yelling and slamming doors until after 1am. Even with a noise machine it was very loud. Will not stay here again.
YYUBreakfast is very American, enough to eat, can not be too high, the room is not big, can not be an extra bed, but the bed is very big, big and small, no problem, the air conditioner is cold, but the noise is a bit big, the carpet is a common problem in American hotels. Very close to the airport, free parking. There are gas stations, small convenience stores and burgers in the hotel. The business hours are very long, and it can solve the problem of being hungry.
PSA! Never stay at a Motel 6 I am moving from Kansas City MO to Ohio. Almost 700 miles away. When I booked. I called the property to ask their pet policy. The woman that answered at the front desk was rude, wouldn’t answer my question, and said that it was posted at the front desk and then proceeded to hang up on me without giving me a chance to explain that I am not local and almost 700 miles away. So I called reservations and confirmed multiple times that my bird (in a small cage) would be allowed in addition to my very well behaved adult cat since Motel 6 boasts no charge for pets. To drive all the way 700 miles to the hotel, I’ve been awake since 2am, to find out that the hotel would not let me have the room that I booked and paid for. They even had the audacity to tell me that I should have called the property to check…. (Tapping on the glass at the pet policy) To which I replied I did and was hung up on. Do not book or stay with Motel 6! I was left stranded with no place to stay after driving 700 miles.
Our room was immaculate, with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to cater to our needs. The swimming pool was an absolute dream! Sparkling clean and well-maintained, it provided a refreshing respite from the heat. The poolside area was also thoughtfully planned, with comfortable loungers and plenty of shade. We loved spending our evenings swimming and relaxing in this idyllic setting.
