"A very cozy hotel with a warm, home-like atmosphere. The view from the window is just like a postcard — absolutely breathtaking.
The location is great — only a 10-minute easy walk to the shuttle stop that takes you to the mountains.
The hotel owner is incredibly friendly and kind. Upon arrival, he upgraded me to a more spacious and comfortable room at no extra charge.
He also helped me plan the best route based on my available time and the weather conditions, and shared many interesting stories about the local history.
The rooms are clean and well-equipped (hairdryer, air conditioning, toiletries).
I had read in previous reviews about weak water pressure and unstable temperature, but everything worked perfectly for me. My room had a shower and a small bathtub.
There’s also an option to order food to the hotel, but I chose to have dinner in different spots around town — there are plenty of cafes nearby, as well as pharmacies and supermarkets.
At the end of my stay, the hotel owner arranged a transfer to the station for me, which cost five times less than a regular taxi ride.
Even after I returned home, he reached out to check if I got back safely and if everything was alright.
I’m very happy with the hotel and the quality of service.

"I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel! The staff and especially the hotel manager 蒋丹书 went above my expectations! A lot of unexpected stuff happened just before coming to Huangshan and Jiang DanShu was not only comprehensive but also very helpful. I also had to replan my trip in Huangshan and he patiently answered to all of my questions (and there were a lot) even though I arrived late at night. Finally, I was a solo traveller without a car but he helped me to arrange inexpensive lifts to go to the places I wanted to go to and I am so grateful for that.
As for the hotel, it was perfect: great location, my room was cozy, comfortable and clean. It was high tech and I found funny to see what temperature I was taking my shower at. I felt as if I was at home with friends.
The staff will help to plan the hike to Huangshan according to physical health, preferences, etc. I was also given free maps, a free walking stick, a free raincoat and free lifts to the bus stations. Breakfast is available if needed for a small fee."

"This is a small family run hostel. It is very close to Huangshan North station. The owner offers free pick up and drop off to the station. Alex as the owner was very helpful during our stay at his place. He gave us suggestions on what we can do and helped us to book vehicle to go to Hongcun village and Huangshan mountain. We will definitely come back here again. Thank you very much for making our holiday perfect 😊"

"The hotel exceeded expectations. The hotel has a strong sense of interior design and can be photographed easily. The beauty of Huizhou architecture is fully displayed. The hotel service staff are very enthusiastic and the service is very good. The breakfast is delicious. There is also a chubby lobby manager in the hotel, meowing Dada, dear, cute. I hope that friends who come to this hotel will not bully it. The hotel is surrounded by Jilingshan Park, with winding paths. Every road will give you unexpected scenery. There is a warning sign at the entrance of the hotel not to pick poisonous mushrooms, and there is a small road next to it. It is not easy to be found. Going from that small road, it is very narrow at first, and then it can be passed. After walking dozens of steps, it suddenly becomes clear. A waterside pavilion appears in front of you. The scenery is beautiful. The hotel is not far from Tunxi Old Street and Liyang Old Street, and it takes more than ten minutes to walk. "General feeling: Very good environment, there is a stream outside, and a stream is also introduced into the homestay. The Hui-style architecture is more quiet and elegant.
Environment: See Figure 1, the view inside the homestay, it seems that there is also a water bar. The boss introduced it to me, but I wanted to go out by myself at that time.
Hygiene: Clean and tidy, the bedding is of good quality, and the small sofa is very soft to sit on. See Figure 2 and Figure 3. I think this price is very cost-effective. Although there are many homestays at the foot of Tangkou Mountain. But there is no such landscape, and the bedding facilities are not up to par. The only problem is that you can hear the sound of the stream at night, which depends on the weather of the day and personal preference.
Service: Thank you very much for the breakfast made by the auntie, who prepared it outside at more than six o'clock. Green pepper and dried bamboo shoots noodles, and an egg for me, are much better than the 25 yuan in the Tangkou store! If you have time, I suggest everyone to try it.
The location is located in Tangkou Town, three kilometers away from the Huangshan South Gate Transfer Center. You can get a taxi at 7 o'clock in the morning. It is recommended to ask the boss in advance for earlier travel. If you are not in a hurry or have your own car, it is more suitable. There is a parking lot outside the B&B. Figures 4 and 5 are the scenery taken while walking about one kilometer outside the B&B. The scenery is surrounded by clouds and mist and is very beautiful."

We were not too sure what to expect from our first China trip so it was with much relief to receive such warm welcome and care when we reach our accomodation in Tunxi.
Not only is our hotel a beautifully well-kept centuries-old heritage building, the service rendered by the staff was the highlight of our trip.
They made special arrangements for us to have our breakfast (and it was a awesome breakfast too!) earlier as we were trying to reach Huangshan as early as possible. On our way back, we decided to stay one more night here as my friend was unwell. It felt like we were coming home, when we reached the hotel the second time. The staff even helped us to find a drugstore for us to buy some medicine to treat the stomach upset. My friend was really grateful for help rendered.

"This is one of our favourites villa we have ever stayed in. The staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful from the start of our holiday and assisted with planning for our 3 nights in Huangshan area. I love how minimalistic the entrance of the villa is, but upon entering the room, we were impressed ny the thoughtful interior design made with high quality materials and furniture. It was extremely spacious as well. Did I mention the view from the window? That was definitely the highlight of the room. I wished I had more time enjoying the villa and now it's on our bucket list to visit this villa again. Our room got upgraded and we are so grateful for that."

GGuest UserThe homestay is close to the town. It is very convenient to eat and buy things. The boss is particularly responsible. He contacted one day in advance. He also prepared a pick-up service. He warmly reminded me to go up the mountain and gave a lot of pertinent suggestions. He sent us to the visitor center early in the morning. Take the shuttle bus ～ The homestay is very hygienic. CCinichengyibeizhanyong，qinglingxuanThe stay was great. The rafting scenic area was across the street, but it was closed because the season was over. The owner upgraded me to a moon-viewing room for free. The scenery was really great. I had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. I was very satisfied with the dinner order. Every dish was delicious. Eight dishes + a few bottles of beer and drinks cost about 60 to 70 yuan per person. I recommend everyone to come. Attached is a picture of the scenery seen from the floor-to-ceiling window in the morning.

GGuest UserHongcun Yushan mountain scenery house is convenienly located near the South Gate of Hongcun Scenic area. We booked courtyard B which is located outside and behind the main hotel complex with breakfast included. The room was spacious, tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable, and had a small courtyard, but unfortunately no garden chairs or table to sit outside. In hindsight we woud book another room in the main complex next time. It has a lovely open garden and plenty of outdoor seating. I contacted the hotel before our stay and managed by using a voice translator to connect with the staff on Wechat. A friendly staff member met us at the entrance to the scenic area and entry is free of charge when you stay at the hotel. The hotel staff don't speak any English, but they were very helpful and friendly and we got along fine using Wechat and other translators. I won't recommend eating dinner at the hotel as there are many local Chinese restaurants in the ancient village. The hotel offers a coffee shop in the lobby and has a number of options, like Americano, Latte etc. The coffee is very good, but I felt it was a bit pricey for the cup size. The hotel breakfast is Chinese with no Western options, and it is served in unique way in a tray. I enjoyed the breakfast, but my husband would have liked more western options. On our arrival the room was already pre-heated and the beds in the room were comfortable. It was snowing lightly when we arrived and there were umbrellas available in the room. They also provide vanity items. We visited just before the Chinese New Year tourist rush at the beginning of the holiday and this was a very good location and time to visit despite the cold weather. The ancient village was not too crowded and it was nice to walk around in the evenings and daytime with the hotel is situated conveniently right next to the South lake. Drone flying is allowed which can give drone flyers an aerial view of the village. Depending on your iterinary a one night stay is sufficient to visit Hongcun and the nearby Xidi ancient village then move on to another hotel at the foot or top of the mountain or Tunxi village. We enjoyed our stay and can recommend this hotel to travelers wanting a good hotel experience in Hongcun.

GGuest UserWe had a perfect stay! Everything was perfect and well arranged. The service is amazing here. They will help you to get to the mountains (yellow mountains) by giving the right information and transfer to the foot of the mountains in the morning. We could even leave out luggage for 1 night to sleep at the top of the mountains. Besides the practical information, the service and breakfast/dinner is amazing! The food is so good and home made, you can really taste it. The owner of the honestay is very nice, she gave us a very lovely upgrade to a beautiful room, we loved it! Thanks for all!! And if we are able to, we would definitely return to the homestay.

GGuest UserMy family and I (5 of us) recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming homestay in Hongcun for two days and one night, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The building, steeped in history at 400 years old, is located relatively close to the West entrance, making access a breeze. The rooms were beautifully decorated, clean, and well-kept. Although I initially booked three specific rooms, they were unavailable due to renovation. However, I was provided with three other rooms that turned out to be more spacious, which was a delightful surprise.
The lobby felt incredibly welcoming, with a cozy living-room-style atmosphere. There’s a lovely café to the left and a souvenir shop to the right, adding a nice touch of convenience and charm as you walk toward the living area. Wan Jie (elder sister Wan), the host, was truly hospitable and attentive. Her warmth shone through from our first phone call, which she answered cheerfully while helping arrange our pickup, as cars aren’t allowed into Hongcun, a UNESCO Heritage Site.
One of the highlights of this homestay was the restaurant nestled in a ”secret” garden—a serene and picturesque spot where my family and I could have happily spent more time. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, adding to the overall experience. Though it was too cool to use during my visit, the homestay also features a pool that would be perfect for summer days.
At the end of our stay, Wan Jie went above and beyond by accompanying us to the village exit to wait for our driver, ensuring everything went smoothly before saying her goodbyes. It’s rare to experience such personalized hospitality, and it made a memorable impression on us.
Based on my positive experience, I would highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Hongcun. It’s a unique blend of history, comfort, and genuine hospitality that truly enhances the visit.

LLele I-AmThe stay was simply exceptional. Not only for the facilities, which were really comparable with modern 4 star hotels, but especially for the exceptional service. Every need was taken care of and the staff went beyond lengths. We made the right choice and gladly return again. Perfect for the old street, the mountain and the old village. Excellent breakfast as well.

Welcoming host who spoke great English and comforting breakfast. the second bed was a bit hard for our family that is not used to hard beds, but the other main bed was fine. the water pressure in the shower was fantastic. the location is ideal for exploring the old street

YYang YingSuch a lovely trip! Highly recommend this hotel for visiting Huangshan, they provide all the kits you need for a hike including rain coat and hiking stick. We also had a nice upgrade for the room which was offered for free. We came from the UK and glad that we stayed here, the staff are all super nice and hospitable!
Our room manager Huihui was exceptional, every morning auntie Wang and other aunties in the canteen greets us and prepares breakfast, they all are super nice and friendly :)) would come back again if we were visiting the area!!

ZZiboerweikaailixiyaWhen I arrived at the station at 9pm, I had to ask the boss to pick me up. After calling the boss, the communication was very smooth. They discussed the next day's trip along the way, which was very atmospheric. The boss's assistant contacted Carpool and took charge of driving us into the mountains early in the morning. Fortunately, they had experience, otherwise it would have been troublesome for a bunch of people behind us.
The food is very simple and firm, and they take care of the taste. It's delicious!
