Hotel is old and due a renovation, yes price and location is good but I was very disappointed with the room, windows facing stairs where people frequently walk, your only options are to have 0 sunlight or have strangers stare in your room. Since there’s no separate bathroom (all in 1 room) there’s not even a secure place to change.
Looks a lot better in pictures than reality. But, for 300 yuan honestly it’s okay.

Trying to find the hotel was the slightly difficult part unless you know what to look for, but they do have a big poster on the entrance at street level. The apartment was lovely and light. The reception staff were very helpful and also helped us buy tickets for Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park. Very good location close to local shops. Do bring ear plugs though as during morning you can hear the traffic below. Would still recommend them. Good view from the room. Catch a didi to the intersection of the Jiefang Road and Yingbin Road. About 2-3 mins walk from there to building entrance. Floor 17A.

If you are looking for a mountain vibe, peaceful, away from city and homey experience, this is the hotel for you! The mountain view is unbeatable and it’s so majestic. We have nothing but compliments about our room which can even house 3pax, having a bathtub and sauna to sooth our muscle after a day out were refreshing for us. Another highlight is how delicious the restaurant food is and we couldn’t resist eating the same dish (香芋扣肉) for 3 meals in a row. I am so glad to have booked one more night with this homestay just so that we can chill around the hotel with a tea ceremony with 毛管家 before heading out for our train ride home. Don’t be deterred by its mountainous location, it is only 5min away from the ZJJ forest park attraction entrance and the whole experience be it hardware or software with the homestay are so worth it! Ended my ZJJ tour on such a high note! Me and my parents (both in 70s) love it so much!

Lovely place! We would stay here again. The owner and his wife are the perfect hosts, thank you! First, our room was upgraded with no charge, then the owner offered to give us advice for the best routes to visit as much as we can. The weather was rainy and changeable, but they recommended us the best ways to avoid the weather conditions. Breakfast was tasty as at home 👌🏻 Also they helped us to communicate with Didi customer service in Chinese. So hospitable hosts, thank you so much! Will miss this place. Recommend it💔

My family and I truly enjoyed our stay at Yuxi Homestay! The hotel owner was so kind and helpful with planning our itinerary and booking tickets for Wulingyuan, Tianmen Mountain, Huanglong Cave, and the Glass Bridge. Our room was simultaneously cozy and spacious, with a beautiful view. Every morning we were treated to a delicious free breakfast. It’s a family business, and it really shows. They were all very kind and the little daughter running around was very cute too. If you speak Chinese, you’ll get to experience how fun they are. If you don’t, they’ll try their best anyway so try to meet them halfway. There’s a great restaurant right around the corner too, and the owner there is a good friend of the hotel owner. The restaurant name is Tu Jia Xiao Er, or 土家小二. I don’t think I’d want to stay anywhere else if/when I come back to Zhangjiajie!

Location of the hotel was very good for our visit. 5-10 minute walk from the train station.
The room was a good size for 2 people. But the bathroom was very small, you almost sit on the toilet when showering.
The room smelled like smoke, using the air conditioner made it worse. There was an ash tray in the room, they promised us there was no smell and nobody had smoked in the room. Because of the smell we moved the beds as close to the windows as possible and slept with the windows open.
They also arranged a taxi to our new hotel in Wulingyuan, price was very good. But at the time of departure suddenly the price increased. We managed to keep the original price. But instead of a 25 minute trip we spend 1h30 in the car. They had to pick someone else up in the opposite direction of where we were going.
The bus is only 12 Yuan drives every 5 minutes and is super close. So you are warned.

The Hotel was very magical, like out of a fairytale. The resort is 15 min away from the entrance to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. The front desk was very helpful especially Tim. He speaks good English and helped me book Tianmen mountains and the other front desk also drove me there. The hospitality and breakfast was amazing. There are many foreigners that stay in this hotel aswell. The area is surreal and when it gets dark it also looks amazing.

The receptionist were really nice and helpful. They helped us with our luggages, bought tickets for us, gave us detailed information while advising us, also recommended us a good restaurant nearby the hotel where we got discounts. Out of all the 5 cities and 5 hotels I stayed at in China, this one was truly the best. The room was spotless, the mattress incredibly comfortable, the linens smelled wonderful and were top quality, and I loved the scent of your shower gel. Having 4 bottles of water provided daily was also such a thoughtful touch.

Most importantly, there was also an interior lock on the door that made me feel even safer as a solo female traveler.
But above all, it was the outstanding service that made my stay unforgettable. I want to give a heartfelt thank you to Cheng at the reception. As a solo female traveler, I had some worries, but she went above and beyond — drawing me a detailed map for my mountain trip and even lending me extra mosquito repellent when I got bitten. Her kindness and professionalism will remain my fondest memory of this journey.
I will definitely come back to this hotel on my next trip, and I’ll be sharing my amazing experience on my social media. It was truly incredible — thank you so much!

Great little hotel 10 minutes walk from Zhangjiajie West Train Station. When I left for my train around 5am the next morning I met a fellow traveller who also stayed in the hotel and was also heading to the train station.
I arrived early and the hotel let me check-in and store my bags in my room. The instructions to find the hotel were very easy. Easy check-in and check-out.
I suggest contacting the hotel 1 day before you arrive to arrange luggage storage (if needed) and check-in.
The con would be that the front door was open when I arrived in the morning and came back in the evening - it would be safer to keep it locked (the bedrooms are locked and the front door was locked overnight).
Also I smelt some cigarettes/smoking from another room enter my room, and also the smell of the toilet/sewage. It must’ve come from another room and the smell only came when I heard other people come back

I recently stayed at this homestay in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park with my sister and brother-in-law for 4 nights. As visitors with minimal Mandarin skills, we were delighted by the warm hospitality and personalized services provided by our host.
From the moment we arrived, the host made us feel at home, serving us homebrew tea and homegrown organic peanuts! They went above and beyond to ensure our trip was enjoyable and stress-free.
As DIY visitors, we didn’t book any tours. The host offered great guidance after learning about our wishes. They helped us purchase admission tickets and organized transportation for us every day. This made our daily trips to the national park and other tourist spots incredibly easy and convenient.
The place is quiet and absolutely beautiful. We were surrounded by the mountains. The building materials are of superb quality and the insulation is very good, despite the cold weather. The bedding was very comfortable and we all had a good night's sleep.
The highlight of our stay was truly these tailor-made services, providing us with recommendations for daily trips, food, and transportation. We enjoyed plenty of delicious healthy food, including a variety of fruits such as grapes, oranges, pomelo, to name but a few! The vegetables and some fruits (like kumquats, figs) were organically grown on the farm. Every meal was homemade and tasty. We even got to try their own specialty tea Mei Cha (莓茶), which was a delightful experience.
On a particularly rainy day, the host proactively brought umbrellas to us, ensuring we stayed dry and comfortable. At some of the tourist spots, guides had been arranged to ensure our smooth entry. These thoughtful gestures added a personal touch to our experience, making us feel genuinely cared for.
Overall, the owner’s dedication to making our trip enjoyable and successful was evident in every aspect of our stay.
I highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. The personal touch, yummy organic food, and convenient transportation made our trip unforgettable. Thank you to the host for an exceptional experience!

CCalogeroWe had a wonderful stay at this hotel, which is perfectly located for visiting Zhangjiajie National Park. Being so close to the park entrance allowed us to start our hikes early in the morning, making the most of our days.
The staff were exceptionally kind and attentive throughout our stay. One young woman in particular went out of her way to make us feel welcome—she was incredibly sweet and helpful. We felt truly pampered, with thoughtful touches like complimentary fresh fruit, tea, and local sweeties.
The hotel itself was clean and comfortable, providing a relaxing retreat after long days of exploring. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!

The photos in the listing are genuine and match the quality of the rooms. Very authentic decor and a 5 minute drive from the national park. The breakfasts were the best meals we had for the whole trip (Zhangjiajie lacks decent restaurants).

ПпутешественницаIt's one of the most cozy hotels in China, in which I was. And the only one in which the shower is built separately from the toilet. I was sorry to leave my very nice, very comfortable room! Location Super! I walked from the bus station just 8 minutes. And five minutes to the eastern (main) entrance to the Park. The boss woman is very friendly, she drew me a precise route in the Park. Her help is invaluable!! Wish prosperity to your business! I strongly recommend!

Nnita77The No. 5 Valley Hotel should be a destination in its own right for everyone visiting Zhangjiajie! Not only are the views spectacular, the hotel itself is so beautiful. The rooms are both rustic and modern and the staff are kind, welcoming, and helpful. They offer a pick-up service from both the airport and train station, and dropped us off and picked us up at our convenience to and from the park, although it was difficult to leave the hotel and we had spend at least one day lazing about and enjoying the pools, my favourite being the heated infinity pool overlooking the valley - a great soak after a day of walking in the park! Most of the staff spoke English, and Rain advised us on the best routes to take to get the most of our visit. Mei, who grew up right next door, offered us a variety of her hand-picked tea, introducing us to the local medicinal 'berry tea' (莓茶). It was a magical stay and we will be back as soon as we can! (Oh and the bed was possibly the most heavenly we have slept on!)

GGuest UserThe stay at Yunmanshan was absolutely fantastic! My boyfriend and I spent a week there and did not want to leave in the end. The location of the hotel is great, and the hosts will drive you to the South Gate of the forest park whenever you need it. After touring the Wulingyuan area, we were so glad we stayed here because this place is so scenic and tranquil. The room and the property was always kept clean and orderly and the amenities are top tier. You can feel that the hosts put much efforts and thoughts into making the place classy and comfortable at the same time. And props to the chefs, who make such tasty food throughout our stay. People here are just nice to talk to and are helping whenever we are in need, this made us feel so like home 🥰 We definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy a relaxed holiday and some great local food along with scenic views from your windows.

- before our arrival, we already felt the warmth and genuine hospitality.They patiently dialogued with us to plan how best to maximise our time during our 5D4N stay with them, and even considered the days after as we are moving to another homestay. They thoughtfully introduced and mapped out local attractions, helping us make the most of our trip.
- We appreciated their transparency when sharing their offerings and discounted rates, giving us space to compare without pressure. This gave us peace of mind even before checking in.
- One of the biggest highlights was how the homestay helped bridge the transportation gap. Despite the secluded location, they arranged reliable partner drivers who charged us at very competitive Didi rates, making travel easy and affordable without needing to worry about timing.
- We also loved the friendly dogs and cat around the homestay. They brought so much joy and warmth, and playing with them became part of our daily routine.
A special shoutout to Butler Jiang (将）, who truly went above and beyond.
- Upon arrival, he noticed we had caught a cold and politely ask if he could prepare herbal tea for us. This became our daily comfort drink throughout the stay. We even felt shy asking for it so often, but he and the team kindly reminded us it was part of their care.
- One unforgettable moment was during a heavy downpour. With the road under government maintenance, access to the homestay became extra challenging for that day. Butler Jiang appeared with multiple umbrellas and a buggy (not something we had seen before!). Since cars couldn’t reach the homestay directly, he walked down to escort guests personally—soaked in rain but making sure each of us stayed dry. When we got on the buggy, we realized he had even opened umbrellas to keep the seats dry. We were deeply touched by his dedication. Upon returning, we were greeted by a joyful gathering of guests enjoying a mini party at the pavilion—a sight that perfectly captured the warmth and spirit of this homestay.
Another shoutout to their partnering driver sun (孙）:
- After we moved to our second homestay, we once got stranded by the roadside because of Didi GPS error that made it difficult for a ride-hailing driver to locate the place. The only option offered by our then homestay was to dropped us at the base of a mountain, where we waited over 15 minutes with no success. Luckily, driver sun from Celestial Valley Homestay recognized us and offered us a ride, so we followed him back to Celestial Valley, and were warmly welcomed again with complimentary tea and another chance to enjoy the view and play with the pets.
- driver sun also took on our business and brought us to the city and even took us on another round trip to a faraway attraction. We were no longer guests at that point, yet the hospitality continued. We were truly thankful for the extended service and kindness.
This homestay gave us more than just a place to stay—it offered warmth, care, and unforgettable memories. It's this genuine hospitality that makes Celestial Valley such a rare gem.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for heartfelt service, breathtaking views and a true home away from home.

The owner was very kind and very helpful, he even walked with me to show me where the bus stop for the national park was. He also gave me all the information to visit the places I was interested in. He has an excellent laundry and I really thank him for washing my clothes. The best hotel I found while traveling around China! I recommend it to everyone!

SSS-SingaporeReach ZJJ west station via the high speed rail from Changsha. After Existing the station, keep left to the Bus Station to WuLingYuan. Need to tell the staff there so they will ask the bus to detour into the station to pick ups up. Cost 13RMB per trip. Tell the Bus driver u going to East Gate, Dong Meng. You will alight after the round about along WuLing Road. From there it's just a 5 mins walk to the hotel. Greeted by Mr Yang. the owner of the hotel. I reached the hotel early at 10am, Mr Yang is nice enough to prep the room early and let me check-in. He orientated me to the surrounding and suggest my route to tour the national park. I was staying there for 3 nights. So i bought the 4 days entry ticket + unlimited Cable Cars(3 routes) & BaiLong lift ride. Very worth it if you are staying there for 4 days. Mr Yang helped me to purchase the ticket at a discount price (488RMB). Totally enjoyed the walk, hike, climb, cable car rides & lift rides as it's a low tourist season. But I make an effort to wake yp early and take the first scenic shuttle bus to the locations. The East Gate opens at 7am in the morning, closed at abt 730pm. The East Gate where the WuLingMeng landmark building is, is where all the shuttle buses will depart to the different locations, eg, to TianZhiShan, BaiLong Elevator or Ten Miles gallery. I will usually Didi to and back from the East gate to the hotel, cost abt 6-8RMB. Walking is about 1.5km. 15mins. I skip the Grand Canyon as I think it's abit overpriced and not very scenic. After the stay, I took the same public bus to ZJJ city for TianZhiShan. The pickup location for the public bus is at the same round abt, just wave at the blue bus with the label to ZJJ. Price is also 13rmb and can be paid onboard via WeChat pay. My Yang help me to buy the mountain ticket in advance as its always crowded there. I paid 238rmb for Route 2 ticket which is taking the bus up the mountain and cable car back to the city. It was super nice up in the mountain and the cable car ride was a superb experience. If you need more info can email me @ *****************. Can share more with u solo traveler. Additional Info: The location of the hotel is the best I feel, there are many shops and eatery. Do not stay at the west gate area of WuLingYuan, it's very inconvenient there. The room of the hotel is super big and clean. Bed is VERY comfortable. You have everything you need in the room. Mr Yang will often make me Chinese tea and chit chat. Very friendly and humble boss. Will definitely come back and stay in his hotel again.

As a Western traveler, finding a comfortable and convenient base for exploring the breathtaking Zhangjiajie National Forest Park can be a daunting task. However, Purespace proved to be an absolute gem, offering not only a welcoming and familiar environment but also a strategic location that unlocked a less crowded path to the park's wonders.
From the moment I arrived, the family who run Purespace went above and beyond to ensure a smooth and enjoyable stay. Their English proficiency was good, and we used automatic translations when communicating complicated points to ensure we understood each other, it was a welcome relief, and they were incredibly helpful in arranging transportation and offering tips for navigating the park. The hotel itself boasts comfortable beds, wi-fi and wall to ceiling windows. The view is outstanding and easily the best view I’ve ever had at hotel. The bathtub in the window is just amazing - you sit in your bath After a long day of hiking in relaxing atmosphere - it was truly a treat. The breakfast offered a decent selection of Chinese options, with noodles available on demand. Delicious home cooked food was available at lunch and dinner too.
However, the true standout feature of Purespace is its proximity to a lesser-known gate of the national park. Located just a short and easy walk from the hotel is an entrance that seems to be favored by locals and those in the know. This proved to be an absolute game-changer for accessing the Bailong Elevator early in the morning. While the main entrance was often swarming with 000s of guests, this smaller gate offered a quick and easy entry into the park. I was able to reach the base of the Bailong Elevator well before the peak crowds, allowing for a swift ascent and uninterrupted views of the stunning karst formations. This local tip, saved me valuable time and significantly enhanced my overall experience of the park.
Its proximity to the ”secret” gate leading to the Bailong Elevator early is an invaluable asset for those wanting to maximize their time and avoid the ilong queues. I highly recommend Purespace and will stay there again when I go back.
