Hiroshima Ekimae Universal Hotel Reviews

This Hotel is fantastic and I’d absolutely stay here again. The onsen on the top floor features a large communal bath and a sauna. The bed is very comfortable and there’s also a mini fridge for chilling drinks. They have a self service Laundry with separate dryers on the ground floor next to the rather unused Internet lounge. The breakfast in the morning was very filling with a great variety of soups, salads, congee, breads and proteins. It’s only a short stroll to Hiroshima Station for a great range of local delicacies like Okonomiyaki. Staff were attentive and helpful speaking a little English. Will gladly stay again. Arigato Gozaimasu!

This hotel is really outdated honestly but you get what you paid for. One of the beds advertised happened to be a sofa bed, which was honestly ridiculous because the hotel didn’t clarify this. Location was good but the cleanliness could be better.

This hotel has a unique way of serving people, on my travel around the world never a hotel give a dinner for their guest only this one, dinner and breakfast is free, although they open their check in process late @4 pm and very strick about it, you you can plan ahead just leave your bags to them and then get your plan early then return after 4 pm. The room is small but clean and organized, hot water is very strong so be careful. The location is in the neighborhood about 8 mins walk toward the train station. They have a big bath area with hot tub and dry sauna. I recommend this hotel to all traveler in hiroshima.

Good service and very polite for front desk service. Contain dinner and breakfast for free is best service. Food and drink is sufficient and delicious.  Onsen is clean and comfortable, water temperature is adequate. Very satisfactory for overall accommodation.

Not the regular type of hotel I usually book but find this is an interesting hotel with an atrium like open air corridor. The only hotel that offers free dinner I ever stayed in (at least 300 around the world) Breakfast is also included and offer lots of food. Small public bath but hotel has a way to keep it not too crowded. Small room with compact bathroom, providing all things that a traveler would need. Heard the trains running but bearable, there was another noise from a machine outside that was louder. Friendly and helpful staff, at front desk and at restaurant, good to feel that they are devoted in their jobs. Except one, most staff do not speak English, but they tried their best to help. Thank you 😊🙏🏻 Really good value for what they charge! P/S the rooms would look more modern if the quilt cover is just in white or taupe cotton instead of the frilly pinkish cover :)

Budget hotel provides basic service which is very much enough for budget or business travellers. Staff are very friendly. Room is spacious for one person. First time stay in a hotel which provides breakfast & dinner. Excellent location few minutes walk from North exit of Hiroshima station or airport shuttle bus stop

Great service, clean rooms, excellent location. I've stayed at other universal hotels before and they have been awesome.

Very convenient location. Normal breakfasts and dinners. Walking distance to the station and tram. The room is small.

Be careful, as the reviews here that mention free breakfast are probably fake. There is no free breakfast or dinner here! The distance from Hiroshima Station is the only good thing about this hotel. We booked a non-smoking room and ended up in a smoking room. The smell was very unpleasant, not just of smoke, but of rotting meat. The room was so small you need to keep your luggage on the bed or shelf. The fridge was broken. The whole hotel looks outdated. Even though we were on the 12th floor, we could hear the trains very loudly. All in all, I wouldn't recommend anyone sleep here.

Great hotel. The service is amazing, they are empleyees that speak english and very helpful. The breakfast is not the best.

Pleasant surprise that they offer dinner (along with breakfast) and onsen facilities. Room was small, but clean. Nice location, close to the Hiroshima Main train station. Tatami flooring, so take off your street shoes when inside. Had a nice working heater for the cold days.

This was the 3rd Universal Hotel I stayed (Kyoto and Okayama). Location is good, about 400 meters from Hiroshima station. This hotel and the one in Kyoto are like an apartment building, opened to the outside. Even though the room was comfortable, once out the door you could feel the cold of the exterior. The food was standard in all the universal hotels although in the ones here and Kyoto the food was hot whereas in Okayama was cold. The room included breakfast and dinner though. All things considered, I would stay in the Universal hotels again.

Budget friendly hotel nearby the station. Highly recommended
