Stayed at AB Hotel Hikone and thought it was a solid pick for a short trip. It’s right in the middle of town and close to the station, so the location makes it easy to get around and find places to eat or visit. The room was small like typical budget hotels in Japan, but had everything I needed – clean, quiet, with the usual basics like a fridge, desk, and comfy bed. One thing I really liked was the public bath. It’s not fancy, but it was clean and relaxing, which felt great after a long day. The free breakfast was actually pretty decent – a nice mix of Japanese and Western options like scrambled eggs, sausages, grilled fish, noodles, some pasta salad, and rice. Not a huge buffet, but tasty and enough to start the day. There’s free parking, but when I arrived late, the main lot was already full; they’ve got another parking area just a short walk away, so it wasn’t a big deal. Check-in and check-out were done through a machine – quick and easy. Staff were friendly and helpful when needed.

With all the things you need for a short stay. Good breakfast, bicycle parking, and hot bath to relax. Staffs were friendly and helpful. Will book again if return to Hikone.

Free parking was easy with the qr code given by the staff. Overall the hotel was clean and the staff were pleasant.

Room is very small . . Public bath is there but very small . An average hotel .

Good hotel with great location. Very clean and delicious breakfast. Price is not bad. However room is too small.

The hotel staff was very helpful and cooperative with me to work past our language barrier. They made check in very smooth and the service at the hotel was great.

Brilliant little hotel, less than a minutes walk to the JR station which includes a very helpful tourist info centre and breakfast buffet included for every customer. Bathroom was modern new and shiny with a generous sized bath (for Japan) and the duvet felt especially nice. Decor is modern and mild but not by any means plain. Hotel also has a free mini Sento that is free to use with separate facilities for men and women which is also modern.

We were in town for the biennale, most hotels were booked up already. AB hotel was a great deal. Its a small hotel and has free breakfast. Its very basic no frills but gets the job done for a decent stay in Hikone at a great price.

A hotel in a niche area, 5 minutes away from the station. I stayed on the 8th floor this time. I could see Hikone Castle from my room. There was a public hot spring bath. Breakfast was provided. It was average.
