Overall a very pleasant experience. Breakfast was very disappointing, only an egg and a bun. No coffee, water etc. Wouldn't go back for such a high priced stay.

Its super cleaaan! The staff was very warm and nice. The room itself is so clean. There’s a bar n restaurant downstair and its a good place to hang out with other traveller and chit chat~ and its also cheap. Would love to be back here if i’m back to Hanoi

Not usually a party person when travelling, but my oh my, staying at this place has unleashed my feral spirit (in a good way of course). They have amazing staff, fun events, free drinks and breakfast and cozy rooms! For the price I paid, it was definitely worth it after all the free beers I got. Only downside (which is a bit of a bummer for me as a budget traveller) is that you’re not allowed to bring “outside” food into your room—no snacks, fruits, takeouts etc. since they have a restaurant and they would want u to buy their food rather than buy some outside. It ****** for a bit especially if ure starving at 3am and dont wanan go out, but i didn’t mind that much as there were lots of food stalls and restaurants right outside the place. Highly recommend this place whether or not ure a party animal. Such a fun and affordable hostel!

Very good place to stay to meet other travelers. Location good also. lots of restaurants, bars and massage salon around. ATM at the hall so practical when knowing most of merchant only accept cash in vietnam, actually i've never seen that before in any other hostels i ve been. On the other hand, they keep straight your passport for granted without requesting in place of deposit for key. That i've never seen anywhere else as well. I did refuse and pay a little deposit instead. They should have given the choice to people at the first place. But aside this bad point, i still recommend this place without any hesitation

Mad monkey is amazing wherever you go definitely recommend for solo. Maybe a bit more expensive than other hostels but it is worth it

The hostel is very clean and the rooms are modern. However, the upper part of the bunk bed is not completely dark as soon as someone turns on the light in the room. (Recommendation, lower bed) In addition, the entire bed frame moves as soon as someone moves in the other bed, as the four beds are connected. The hotel staff is super friendly and helpful. They are happy to help with any questions, requests or suggestions. They are also happy to chat about local tips. There are activities every evening that you can take part in if you wish. (karaoke nights, pub crawls, beer pong tournaments and so on) The in-house travel team is happy to organize excursions if required. Greatly located in the Old Quarter!

very chic and international.they even hold many parties every night.the vibe is cool.but visitors who live here are mostly teenagers.anyway.my first experience in hostel here is not bad.

Absolute must if you enjoy partying and meeting new people. The Mad monkey team were great with organising the Ha Giang loop for me as well, they are in the process of refunding for one less stay on the loop too. Would definitely stay again.

It’s definitely a party hostel with a younger pool of people. It is also outside the city so you’d have to take a grab to the old town. The staff is very friendly though and they have been very responsive and accommodating when I told them that I wanted to switch rooms. I did like the Mad Monkey in Hanoi more.

I had a great stay in this hostel. I arrived late night and there was a party going on at the 1st floor of the hostel. Everyone is welcoming. The bar/club stops at 12MN which gives ample time for sleep. It’s also clean and cozy.

Thir hostel is located in the heart of the old quarter. It's very tidy and comfortable but that area is too noisy. It's suitable for those who wanna party every night. However, it you wanna get a good night sleep then I wouldn't recommend it.
