DDiana1979Perfect stay, can never go wrong booking Van der Valk. Location is perfect for an early flight from Schiphol, 10 minutes drive to the airport. Spacious and lovely room, very clean, parking is free.

SSamAppiMy husband and I were pleased to return each evening from all our busy day trips to this peaceful and quiet retreat. It seemed relatively new built. A free shuttle brings you from the airport on arrival. We booked uber for our return trip to the airport as the shuttle does not start until 5 am but we had to be at the airport by 4am and had a large suitcase as well. The hotel is only 5 minutes walk to the local train/bus station where we could make our daily excursions from each morning. There is a good network of transport so we had no problems going anywhere. A direct bus takes you to Keukenhof park from the bus station. The rooms are cleaned on request when asked the day before. The staff was mostly helpful and friendly. However, any requests made took time to be heard and considered. I needed to request an extra pillow (otherwise it is only one pillow per person). Despite frequent reminders, there was no success I had to keep using towels or my clothes to raise my head but kept asking and perseverance paid off finally on the third night!!! The breakfast had a lot of vegetarian options (but not halal). I particularly liked their dispensers for fruit jams and condiments etc. The bar is open until 10 pm serving drinks. The hotel was very popular with big groups of tourists as it offers good value for money compared to the very expensive hotels near the central stations. The only drawback is that there is no activity in the Hoofddorp area itself. Overall it was good value for money and a pleasant stay.

It feels very ”family-friendly” and is surrounded by nature, making it a peaceful retreat. However, keep in mind its location if you plan on visiting the city center frequently. Location & Transport 🚌 Proximity: Conveniently located about 10 minutes from the airport. Shuttle: The hotel provides a scheduled shuttle bus to and from the airport with frequent departures. City Access: There is no direct transport to the city center. To get downtown, you must take the shuttle back to the airport and transfer to a train/bus, call a taxi, or take a local bus to a transit point. It can feel a bit isolated if you don't have a car. Parking 🚗 There is ample parking space available, but please note that it costs approximately €20 per day. Room Quality 🛌 The Good: The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-maintained. Overall, the room quality is very satisfying. The Amenities: A bit minimal. They provide the basics (soap, shampoo, and lotion), but no shower caps or other extra vanity kits. You might want to bring your own. Service & Facilities 🍳 Staff: The front desk team is professional and helpful. Breakfast: A highlight! The breakfast spread is good, and the staff are very attentive—constantly clearing plates and keeping the tables clean. KKelvin Wi enjoyed staying here - it was a bit complicated getting here by bus as there are works going on at the schiphol bus terminal - so you will need to logic your way to the right bus stop (google maps does not factor this in, so you will need to find temporary maps from schiphol along the bus stops). when you get to the hotel it is not obvious to view from the bus station either, so again you will need to figure out how to head to the moxy, but the hotel itself from the inside is very modern and fresh looking, everything is clean, the rooms feel very up to date and the bathrooms look bright and newly fitted which is always much preferred to old and worn. there is a lot of space to sit, read, and plan your trip on the ground floor with multiple sofas and desks. once you figure out the bus it is very easy to head back to schiphol airport or to town center from the hotel. the only thing is there is no tea or coffee station in-room, nor water, so everytime you want to boil water for tea or coffee, or even grab a drinking cup, you would have to go to the lobby and sometimes that isn’t practical as that’s also where other hotel guests are and the staff are stationed, and you just want some privacy. maybe they could put water bottles in room daily? or a water kettle? it’s a great hotel for if you are travelling into amsterdam for a short trip and have tight schedules to the airport, such as late night or early morning flights, and you are a younger solo traveller, who wants the privacy of their own room which is a step up from a nice hostel, and doesn’t mind figuring things out a bit as part of the journey
