GGuest UserShuishongshi Shanfang Hotel is a unique hotel with a strong artistic flair. Our room offered stunning mountain views the moment we opened the door, and at night, we could hear the gentle murmur of the stream. The young lady at the front desk who assisted us was incredibly kind and helpful; she planned a perfect hiking route tailored to our fitness level, which really compensated for the hotel not being situated at the very peak. As we set off for our hike, she even thoughtfully provided us with hiking poles. The driver who handled our transfers was also superb, ensuring seamless connections from the hotel to the trailhead. On our second day, when they helped us transport our luggage out of the mountain area, the hotel thoughtfully prepared bottled water and a lovely farewell gift.

GGuest UserMy stay at the Hongcun Zuoxian Art Hotel was a mix of delight and slight inconvenience. The hotel's interior is beautifully designed, featuring many artistic elements that create a unique and charming atmosphere. However, there were some small design issues that detracted from an otherwise pleasant experience.
One issue was the bed frame, which was positioned in such a way that it was easy to accidentally knock into it. Additionally, the courtyard rooms, while picturesque, were not directly connected to the main building, requiring a short walk, which was less than ideal during rainy weather.
Furthermore, navigating the hotel involved quite a number of steps and uneven surfaces, which could be hazardous if one is not careful. Despite these minor drawbacks, the hotel's overall ambiance and artistic flair made for a memorable stay. With a few adjustments, the Hongcun Zuoxian Art Hotel could truly shine as a top-notch destination.

GGuest UserTo all fellow hikers heading to Huangshan, I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel! The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service to/from the South Gate. Its location is incredibly convenient: Wenkouling Station is right outside the door, so even if you miss the last cable car down, a bus from the mountain base will drop you directly at the hotel entrance. After a strenuous descent, the hotel provides dining options where guests can enjoy a discount. And if you're too exhausted, there's an affordable massage service nearby. A handy tip: you can buy a walking stick from the supermarket next door for just 3 RMB, and it can be exchanged for a bottle of water after your hike! Ordering food delivery is super easy as well; you won't need to go downstairs to collect it because a robot delivers it directly to your room!

YYanyuThis was our second stay at the resort. Our first visit was during the pandemic, when all activities were shut down, and we felt like we had the entire resort to ourselves. This time, the experience was much richer and even better.
If you're looking for a peaceful retreat from the strenuous climbs of Huangshan or the bustling crowds of Xidi and Hongcun, Banyan Tree is the perfect choice. Luchun Village is just about a 5-minute walk away, and a little further on foot, you'll reach Tachuan. Both are beautifully preserved, pristine villages.
Before our arrival, our butler, Felix, reached out to me, asking for our estimated arrival time the next day to ensure everything was perfectly pre-arranged. When I simply requested an extra comforter, he immediately offered to upgrade our room, provided it was available. What a pleasant surprise! We ended up staying in the largest room type at Banyan Tree, the Luchun Two-Bedroom Villa (room numbers starting with 2), which boasted over 200 square meters, plus an outdoor garden and a balcony. Our teenager absolutely loved having so much space to run up and down between floors. The room was so incredibly vast that the three of us sometimes had to call each other just to find one another!
Needless to say, as a five-star property, it had all the amenities you could possibly need, so I won't list them all. It featured three bathrooms, two bathtubs, three televisions, a three-door refrigerator, a microwave, and a washing machine. Both floors were impeccably clean; we were comfortable walking around barefoot. There wasn't a speck of dust or a single insect anywhere in the entire room – we were truly impressed.
The service, in particular, was truly exceptional. Felix, our butler mentioned earlier, was incredibly enthusiastic, offering us detailed introductions and thoughtful recommendations. During our three-day stay, our housekeeper, Jo Yao, was not only extremely polite but also showed great respect for our privacy. Whether she was cleaning, delivering a fruit platter, or performing turndown service, she always asked for permission before entering. Her conversations with us while working were also very genuine. There was also a friendly shuttle driver who drove us around the resort and recommended local delicacies; I regret not catching his name. All the staff members here are warm, genuine, and truly committed to providing excellent service. We are so grateful. Every single staff member greeted us with a smile and was always ready to assist with any request.
Breakfast was decent, though it could offer a wider selection. Otherwise, we were very satisfied with everything. The pet park had many cute animals, the swimming pool staff were very attentive, and the sunset ceremony had a wonderful sense of occasion.
We just returned today, and I wanted to write this review promptly to truly do justice to all the wonderful experiences Banyan Tree offered.

Location: only 1 km away from tangkouzen transfer center/Huangshan scenic gate, with many shops and restaurants along the route, comfortable to explore.
Room: I'm very impressed with the decent room size and can see it is very newly renovated. Everything is blazing clean and spotless. 5 stars from me!
Facilities: breakfast was simple, perhaps it's best not to have a big breakfast before hiking the mountain. The hotel also has a restaurant right next to it, seems to be of the same owner. And due to the exceptional hospitality of the staffs, we ended up dined twice in this restaurant. Their menu was decent as well.
Other unexpected:
++ the hotel offered drop off to the Huangshan scenic gate in the morning for free
++ the hotel also provided wooden sticks to hike the Huangshan if you need one
++ laundry and dryer machines are available, although it took quite a long time to dry (probably because of the very cold room temp ＜10 C at night in March)
One thing bothered me and I don't know whose fault, but the hotel name was different from what's listed in the app, it is Hui You, so I had to recall from memories how the building looks like and asked, luckily not too much trouble from this.

Firstly, the hotel's location is exceptionally convenient. After taking the bus from Huangshan North Station to the Huangshan Scenic Area Transfer Center in Tangkou Town, the hotel entrance is just 10 meters from the drop-off point. For our mountain excursion the next day, it was a mere 5-minute walk from the hotel to the shuttle bus departure point. What's more, after finishing our Huangshan tour and taking the bus back down to Tangkou Town, the final stop was right outside the hotel door.
Secondly, the hotel offers complimentary luggage storage. This saved us the trouble of lugging our bags all the way to the mountain shuttle bus departure point to store them (where lockers might not even be available). Upon our return to Tangkou Town from the mountain, retrieving our luggage was equally hassle-free.
