Booked 2 rooms 2 nights for a family of four. Kinda disappointing with the service quality provided by the hotel esplanade. Totally unimpressed at all. Take a midnight flight and reached Perth at 5-6am. Drive to esplanade hotel ard 9-10am. Though understand that we have arrived very much early but thought that the hotel can assist in at least provide one of the rooms to freshen up. Waited 5hrs until 1350hrs before 1 room can be provided reluctantly. However I do saw reception give early access to many others who came later. Wonder if it it because I am an Asian and race card is being played to perfection to adhere to the standard timing.
The swimming pool and gym were not maintained at all. And worse is the ant issues. I have left an empty orange juice glass on the table and I came back, it was filled with 50-60ants. Guess the pests control was not well managed here.
Think the only saving grace is the proximity to Fremantle market, town area, and the terminal to go Rottness island. May need to rethink and strategize to continue to become one of the better hotels in Fremantle and not solely just replying on past reputation.

Easy to get to everywhere in Fremantle. Public parking nearby too. The stuff were very nice. We had a day to Rottnest island, Rottnest express pick up service is right in front the hotel. It’s excellent for family with young children.

Our room was quite big. It comes with a queen and single bed. There's a balcony but there's no view.
The hotel location is very good You can walk to Fremantle Market in less than 5 mins. You can walk to Kailis Fishmarket Cafe or Cicerello's within 5 mins.
It is also very convenient if you are going to Rottnest Island because you can walk to the boarding place near the E Shed Market without having to look for a parking there which is very limited.
Well the negative side is parking at the hotel is not free. It is AUD30.00 for hotel guests with multiple entries from 12pm till 12pm the following day.

Location is very good nearby Fremantle Markets, Kailis Fish Market to name a few. It’s a 10 minutes walk from the train station. Need to improve on the cleanliness.

Good for the location. Comfortable bed. Lack of amenities and no complimentary bottled water. No free parking for hotel guest and it’s $30 per overnight stay.

Situated in a very good location of Fremantle. Walking distance to nearby attraction, staffs were friendly. Will stay again :)

Absolutely disgusted in this property. Charged me, a single traveller, $58 PER DAY for breakfast and didn't even include coffee or omelettes. Has refused to even respond to my emails about this.

There was only one staff member on reception when we arrived and there was a que of people waiting to check in. When we got to our room it was nice however they only gave us three towels for two people (twin bed room). My sister had a shower first and washed her hair, therefore using two towels, then we realised there was only one towel left so called reception to ask for another one to be brought up. I then had a shower and when I finished, we still had not received the towel from reception, so called again and then said they would bring it up. I then took the one towel off the shelf to dry myself and to my horror saw that it was dirty and had a disgusting stain on it!! We called reception for a third time and they eventually brought the towels up - 25 minutes after the first request was made!!! I have never had such appalling service from a hotel that states it is four star service.
As we were walking down the hallway we also noticed that the floors were very dirty like they hadn't been cleaned for a couple of days, with food crumbs visible in every spot you walked. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and would tell people to think twice before booking a Rydges Hotel.

This is a really nice hotel. It is a modernized traditional Australian country building. Close to sea, reastaurants and train. Fantastic .

The hotel are generally ok.
However, it’s ain’t up to our expectations as the moment we stepped into the room, we noticed that the main light and the lights above our bed aren’t working. Called up the reception and they responded to send maintenance personnel to help us replaced the next day. But, the lights weren’t replaced, repaired even until we checked. Reason of us not calling up the reception again for help is because we felt we might not need it anyway since we will be out the whole day. However, thinking back. The services provided weren’t as good as 4stars.

I would call this hotel "very average" the only good thing it really has going for it is the location which is great.
The hassles started when we had a flight cancelled by Virgin. Despite speaking to the manager, the hotel would not credit is for the 1 night lost (or extend our stay by one night). No negotiation. No refund.
We had upgraded our room to a pool view. You can see from the photo that it is more a car park view. I can't say I have seen a bigger car park. It was that big it almost shut out the daylight. I did complain and we did get moved after 1 night to a slightly better room. I overheard a conversation from another customer who was similarly unimpressed. The hotel are being disin genuous with their advertising.
It's a large conferment hotel with very basic customer service.
The breakfasts are average.
The rooms are tired
Or room wasnt cleaned one day and when I enquired the answer was "they were too busy"!!!
I summary only stay here if they're is morning else in female.
