This city is beautiful on the water, but beware of mosquitoes!
I personally would stay no more than one night. You pay for the great location - right on the river and by all the hustle and bustle. The party does not stop at 10pm - I swear it was loud outside until 2am and you definitely hear it.
The room we chose (with a large patio) was extremely small and cramped. We couldn't enjoy our patio during the summer because there were so many mosquitoes at the door. We left a mosquito-repellant incense at the patio door and that helped a little, but we didn't dare having tea outside like we originally wanted.
The hotel also didn't feel secure. Our room was by the back door, which stayed open for most hours of the day. It was very convenient to get to our room, but the open door felt like a safety hazard. They said that they would close it at midnight, but that is too late for my comfort.
Service was okay at best. They tried contacting us before we arrived but we don't have a Chinese phone number. Responses through WeChat were a bit slow during some hours, and sometimes the front desk was empty. Perhaps we were just unlucky. The morning we left, the manager lady seemed the most competent and warm, but everyone else was a bit lackluster.
The room is old, and the bathroom has rusting metal. Toiletries were at least covered the essentials. No welcome snacks, but at least there were two bottles of water. Is it bad for us to expect more at the price we're paying? Among all the high end hotels we stayed at during our trip at this price point, this was the least impressive by far. The hotel pictures felt misleading on terms of quality and cleanliness.
Aye brilliant hotel. Super clean. Nice people. They gave me many fruits and tea. Location is just outside the chaos, so if you want to have your home quiet, but be less than a 5 minute walk from the noisy energy, then this is great. One of the staff helped me flag down a taxi and get me to the train as I was running very late. Maybe I would have missed my train otherwise. So I am happy.
We stayed for 3 nights. As it is the off-season now, we basically booked the whole B&B, which was a bit embarrassing 😂😂. The location is a little hard to find, but the owner will call ahead to greet you. The room balcony has a beautiful view. The boss is very nice and always answers any questions I have. During the trip, I asked him to recommend transportation, restaurants and travel photography shops to help me avoid any pitfalls. The boss also helped me buy tickets for the ”Phoenix Show”, which were cheaper than outside.
The homestay in the corner is very quiet and leisurely, and there are kittens raised by the owner. It is super close to the Lijiang River. The young lady enthusiastically also sent us fruit. The environment is the kind of speciality, mainly because the price is very close to the people. It is suitable for friends who come out to play. Recommend
The hotel is located upstream of the river which is quieter. The hotel is not on the busiest part of the river.
The room is mainly on the fourth floor and can have a distant view of the river.
The proprietress is attentive and provides maps and introductions to scenic spots.
Also a comfortable hotel.
Room was good; comfortable bed, bathroom was fine, room was clean, and had a little desk and kettle too. Location is great, right in the heart of the ancient town and close to so many key parts. Booked in last minute (as my original hotel was abandoned when I arrived ( called ”Yuanmengzhan (Phoenix Ancient City Branch” - don't go there!), so the man was very understanding and accommodating. Overall great value.
If you like quiet, you must live here. It is 50 meters away from the riverside, and 50 meters next to the bright bridge. Then about 600 meters from the Phoenix Range Rover Station is Fuyuan Community. Fuyuan Community is two hundred and three hundred meters ahead of the entrance of the ancient city of Phoenix. Entering the entrance 100 meters should be this homestay. It was a row of buildings away from the river. It was immediately quiet. The bar on the riverside was too noisy at night. I felt deaf when I walked on the riverside. I didn’t dare to think about how painful it was to live on the riverside. The bar should be closed at 11 o’clock. It is said that, but I can’t hear anything in the house. At most, there is a singing voice that is a little ghost crying wolf, but it is not noisy, there is an inexplicable sense of joy, and the air conditioning is very good to make this season not cold, the hot water is very good, not afraid of catching a cold, the bosses are also super good! The boss's house also has its own travel photography store, with many styles, very convenient
The boss is a middle-aged couple, friendly and enthusiastic, always caring about us by phone and then contacting the distance, the homestay is in the ancient city, the parking lot and the river are long, convenient. The first day we arrived at just after 6 pm on Friday, the most people in the ancient city, the boss helped us find a parking space for almost two hours, very careful thank them. There are several rooms, and the layout and style of each room are not the same. Some rooms have old objects from the boss. Overall it is a great homestay, recommended!
Chang'an City, Maomao Ancient City of Phoenix, is still worth a visit. The hotel we stayed in is in the ancient city and it is convenient to travel on the river. The rooms are clean and tidy. There are not many rooms with elevators in the ancient city. This is 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻.
The luckiest thing about this trip to the ancient city of Phoenix was to choose this fairy homestay! From the moment I stepped into the small courtyard, I was amazed. The white walls and tiles were matched with flowing water. The green plants in the courtyard seemed to break into the poetic Xiangxi picture volume ~.
The room layout is even more detailed! Smart home is all available, the bedding is soft like a cloud, the toiletries are high-quality fragrance, you can overlook the Lijiang River by opening the window, sitting on the balcony to enjoy tea in the morning, watching the lights on both sides of the river at night, the atmosphere is directly full!
The most moving thing is the intimate service of the boss's family! Not only help plan the play route, recommend authentic food, but also take the initiative to help with luggage. Before leaving, the proprietress stuffed me a pack of homemade ginger candy, saying that it was a ”small gift for friends from afar”. This warmth makes people can't help but want to brush it immediately! Highly recommended to all friends who come to Phoenix, living here is a real immersive ancient city experience!
