Great hotel. Great breakfast. Staff very helpful. Shuttle to town is only available in the evening. Walking is not great option, staff will help you book taxi Very nice, clean, comfortable place to stay. Love that they offer bathrobes for the shower.

This was the most overpriced, disappointing hotel experience I’ve ever had. They forced all guests to pay $200 per head for a “mandatory Christmas dinner,” which turned out to be a complete disaster. The food was cold, undercooked, and inedible. To make matters worse, they skipped four of the promised meal courses entirely! The staff was rude and dismissive when we complained, and the overall service felt like an afterthought. For the price we paid to stay here, I expected so much better. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. Spanish: Esta fue la experiencia de hotel más cara y decepcionante que he tenido. Obligaron a todos los huéspedes a pagar $200 por persona para una “cena de Navidad obligatoria”, que resultó ser un completo desastre. La comida estaba fría, cruda e incomible. A lovely hotel with great amenities and friendly, helpful staff. Great base for visiting all El Calafate‘s wonders. Excellent shuttle service to and from town which has a good choice of restaurants and bars. Hotel is ideally located with a heated indoor pool.

Ana at the front desk was nothing short of spectacular and Daniela at the restaurant stupendous. The hotel is a 5 minute drive from downtown but they have frequent free transport. The con is you are last to be picked up for any excursion but the pro you are the first to be dropped off. It’s got phenomenal views and staff to match. Couldn’t say better things.

Our flight was late and we arrived at 10:45 p.m. at the hotel. Instead of offering us a drink and food they closed the bar and the restaurant. Even they are 4 km away from the city and we have to go to bed hungry. The spa didn't work either. The cost is to high for the bad service.

The hotel staff is nice and very helpful. And that’s all good that this hotel has to offer. Breakfast offers a good selection of Argentinian pastries, scrambled eggs, bacon, poor quality sausages and canned fruit salad. Definitely not what you would expect from a hotel of this category. The pool is nice but poorly maintained. The painting is falling and pollutes the water. You should definitely avoid the hotel restaurant for dinner. Dishes are almost double than on any other place from similar category at El Calafate.

Visitamos el Hotel Imago, anunciado como un establecimiento de 5 estrellas, pero en realidad, no pasa de 3 estrellas. A nuestra llegada, nos recibió una recepcionista poco amable. En la habitación, asignada para un matrimonio con un niño, encontramos tres camas individuales. Solicitamos que las unieran, pero solo lo hicieron al día siguiente. Las habitaciones parecían anticuadas, con alfombras. En el baño, las amenidades eran básicas, solo gel, champú y acondicionador, insuficiente para un hotel de esta categoría. La peor parte fue el desayuno: nos faltaron huevos revueltos y, a pesar de pedirlos, tras 40 minutos de espera, una empleada respondió de manera grosera que ya se habían servido y consumido, lo cual era falso. Además, las manzanas estaban podridas, y aunque se retiraron, al día siguiente se sirvieron las mismas. La limpieza era deficiente; dejé cabellos en el suelo del baño y no se limpiaron. Lo único positivo fue el empleado de la camioneta, muy servicial. Si planea visitar El Calafate, le sugiero buscar otras opciones de alojamiento. We visited Hotel Imago, marketed as a 5-star facility, but it barely meets 3-star standards. Upon arrival, we were greeted by an unfriendly receptionist. Our room, meant for a couple with a child, had three single beds. We requested to have them joined, which was only done the next day. The rooms felt outdated with carpeted floors. The bathroom amenities were basic - just gel, shampoo, and conditioner, not what you'd expect from a high-tier hotel. The worst was at breakfast: no scrambled eggs available, and after a 40-minute wait, a staff member rudely claimed they had been served and eaten, which was untrue. Also, the apples served were rotten, and even though they were removed, the same ones appeared the next day. Cleaning was poor; hair left on the bathroom floor wasn't cleaned up. The only positive aspect was the van driver, who was very helpful. If you're planning to visit El Calafate, I recommend looking for better accommodation options.

This hotel is located above the town with nice views over the lake. We received a warm welcome from reception and lobby staff and a tasty welcome drink. Public areas are modern and stylish. Obviously, we only saw our bedroom, but it was a bit disappointing. Very dated and stiflingly hot. No air conditioning. Bathroom was very spacious and well equipped, but again in desperate need of refurbishment. Breakfast was very good with a good selection of fruit, cereals, bread, pastries and a few cooked options. Lobby bar menu was limited but ok. Restaurant menu more expensive. Staff all very pleasant and helpful.

Service is really unfriendly and not helpful at all. Charging tourist scam rates for the peso, which is not usual in Calafate as other hotels did otherwise. Also the pool in the spa doesn’t work and they still charged full price with an extra on the exchange rate. Definitely wouldn’t go there again.

Disappointed. Although the staff is nice, they lied to us and got caught in it. We checked in and immediately noticed the room was hot. No air conditioning. We called down And were told that their hotel didn’t have rooms with air conditioning. We would have accepted that. However, my brother checked into his room which had a/c. We were told nothing could be done until the next day. They did move us to a room with air conditioning. The issue is that during the day, the rooms get hot. We asked for a fan and they said they didn’t have one. Even if the room had a ceiling fan, it probably would have been fine. There was no air flow. We opened the window with no screen and bugs started to come in. We could also hear various noises. If one goes on trip advisor, it actually says that the rooms are air conditioned. The pool is awesome in that it is hot and had great current like huge jacuzzi. Paint is chipping but that’s fine. Breakfast was terrible. This was one of 4 hotels we stayed at in Argentina. Breakfast was lacking in every way. We did like the waiters. The staff is nice and even sent us an apology desert with champagne for inconveniencing us. They also did move us after a day. Lastly, they gave a shuttle but only after 4:30 pm. Silly. We had a afternoon to relax and check out town. They told us it would be a 30 minute walk. It was over over one hour I would find another hotel

What a wonderful stay we had in this hotel. It is a little outside of town, but a very nice brisk walk along the lake. It’s really a lovely hotel with a great restaurant, bar, and a pool size, hot tub with jets to soak your weary limbs after hiking on the glacier and up the Andes. Good selection of wine and beer at the bar, terrific little pizzas to nibble on. Most helpful in planning our stay was Agustin at the reception, with great advice, and a superb attitude.

Upon reading the reviews, I honestly tried to change my reservation, yet am glad it didn’t work out. The Imago hotel and customer service was excellent! The despairing reviews are accurate in that it is like a 3-4 star hotel, the breakfast could be a bit more robust and it is a ways out of town, yet honestly the place is lovely and clean. Everything I asked for, they gave me and the breakfast was just fine. If you have super high standards, then this may not be the place for you, yet if you are looking for a clean, friendly and professional place to stay, consider this hotel!
