Location in walkable distance from Royal Mile and very close to Arthur's seat trails (think fresh air and stunning 360 views over Edinburgh and surrounding area).The staff were just so incredibly welcoming, friendly and accommodating, wanting to make the stay a fantastic one.Clean.Good smell and great ambient music in public areas. Mattresses and pillows were super comfy.Aesthetic, relaxing and provocative artwork. Loved their sustainability plan. I had not realised before arrival that the stay includes complementary access to a full blown gym and fitness centre, albeit down the road.Brilliant! Loved the small but good food choices available and the delivery was true to their photos, brasserie area or otherwise;no tray charge if you want to stay in the room! Will be coming back for sure, thank you, The. Scholar! (Tried both Single, and also Deluxe Double(King bed).Both great and king adds extra if twosome!

We visited Edinburgh for New Years and stayed for four nights leading up to it - the hotel was beautiful and cozy and the staff were incredibly nice and accommodating and went out of their way to make our stay really special! There were so many nice little thoughtful touches throughout our time here. It was very easy to get to the city from here - and also very close and easy to hike Arthurs Seat. We would happily return here again, it was really lovely.

We stayed for 4 nights, room was a lovely size, very clean and comfortable, we had breakfast each morning, and dinner on a couple of occasions, all very nice , staff all lovely and friendly.

Our stay at the Scholar was very positive. The staff was phenomenal. Always helpful, smiley and eager to help. Our room was always kept clean and the cleaning staff was great. Breakfast was perfect. The choice of food for dinner was a little limited. I would definitely recommend the hotel to travelers and would stay there again if we were to visit the nearby facilities.

The single room was a bit small but comfortable. There are good public transport services to the city center.

Room is small (same as what was posted online) but a 32" luggage cannot be opened fully. minimal walking space in the room. Not much table space for work, location is abit far off. Didnt realise the 'distance' while booking. Lovely view from room - sneek peak of Arthur Seat, woke up with birds chirpping, pretty relaxing No aircon in the room, so need to open the window for ventilation Bathroom is small, water takes sometime to be hot and water will splash out on the floor. There was water leakage from the corner of the glass panel, which made a puddle of water after each shower. Front desk and bar service was fantastic, very friendly folks.

It was an amazing experience! New, clean room in a calm and quiet campus area. You may need a taxi to travel back and forth if you have a lot of luggage, but the hotel is still within walkable distances from the city centre. Friendly and welcoming staff members and decent amenities in the room. Everything looks clean and not dusty. Even the mirrors are carefully wiped! What a hotel! I'll definitely be coming back next time in Edinburgh.

This hotel was just perfect for me. Spacious and well organised rooms with plenty of drawers to put your stuff. The only minus is that there is a narrow passage between the wall and a king-size bed, but at the same time you have a separate section in the room with a big desk, a big drawer and a cozy armchair. Everything neat and clean. Breakfast was delicious and served in style. You order by menu. All the staff was super nice. Many thanks to them for creating such a hospitable environment!

Lovely place to stay, the hotel is very clean, great shower and lots of amenities provided.
