Facing the sea, the environment is good, the room type and layout are good. But it has been in disrepair for a long time, the furniture and equipment are very old, the mattress springs are protruding, the sheets, quilt covers and towels are black and disgusting. The shower room is blocked and the water overflows into the bathroom. Breakfast only has bread, fried eggs, coffee and fruit, without any vegetables or meat. Only 2 small bottles of mineral water are provided per day, and they are not given if you ask for more. 1150 yuan a night is not worth it, at most 100 yuan experience.

We were pleasantly surprised upon checking into Les Acacias. It was the only place we stayed at in this country that had 1. Warm water showers, and 2. Fresh fruit at breakfast. The free airport shuttle was a real bonus and all the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was a very large 1-bedroom apartment with nice views over the pool and sea. There was no problem with outside noise at all and we had a very restful sleep. The room was clean and comfortable however there were a few minor maintenance issues that needed taking care of. Our room had a kitchen but there were absolutely no utensils or other kitchen equipment, making it non-functional. There was a good internet TV in the bedroom, but oddly, nothing in the living room. The internet connection was solid, the best we experienced in Djibouti. The pool area was super nice – a shame we didn’t get a chance to use it. The buffet breakfast was fairly basic but very good, the best we had in Djibouti, with lots of fresh fruit and made to order omelets. Just 100m outside the hotel is a very good pizzeria – highly recommended!! Overall we had a great stay and would definitely recommend it to other travelers wanting to escape the chaos of the central city.

The photos of this hotel are deceiving. In reality, this hotel is tatty, decrepit, and badly managed. In contrast to the other hotels I've stayed in in Djibouti, I was made to pay my entire bill upon arrival. While a few staff members are friendly, many are surly and incompetent. The rugs and furniture are old, stained, and patched. The cable/TV was often on the blink, and there was no hot water ever in the shower. The food in the restaurant is hit or miss. The croque-monsieur I ordered contained beef and ketchup for some unknown reason. Clients who care about their lung health are advised to give this place a miss since the management insists on burning massive amounts of incense throughout the day in a bid to mask other odors (mold?). Never again.

This hotel could be so much better with a bit more attention. I stayed in two different rooms (one had roaches). Both bathrooms were very much in need of renovation. The shower was particularly poor. The bed was fine. By far, the best feature was the large screen TV that allowed you to use your Amazon Prime or Netflix account. Breakfast was ok. They made me eggs and had continental breakfast type items. I also stayed at the more expensive hotel 500 meters away (Kempinski). If all you want the room for is a place to sleep, Kempinski might not be worth the extra $100 USD. But factoring in breakfast, the hotel restaurant, spa, pool, etc. I thought it was definitely worth the extra money.

Apart from the bar, swimming pool, and sea view no other redeeming features. Broken shower taps, and toilet handles. Dim lighting. Far from the city centre. It charge about USD 150. You can find better hotels in the city centre.
